All Inclusive

The 24-hour all-inclusive Riu Cancun is located in the heart of Cancun and set on a beach of white sand and turquoise water. This majestic resort soars above the Caribbean Sea, steps from the Galeria and Caracol shopping centers and in the heart of nightlife and activity.

This grand resort boasts a rich decor with high hand-painted ceilings adorned with flowers and frescos, and Spanish-style oil paintings cover the walls. "Family New Year's Eve Trip"
BoltonFriend, Toronto, Ontario

My family of 4 and 20 other friends of ours experienced 2015 New Year's Eve at the Riu Cancun Mexico. The hotel was very clean and the people were very friendly. It seems to me that every room has a view of the ocean which was beautiful! The food was surprisingly excellent! The beach was beautiful and the weather was great! I would not have a problem visiting this hotel in the future!! Thank you to the Riu Cancun for such a great experience and helping me create memories for my family and friends!! More>

This was my first time in Mexico about 2 years ago. First impressions was brilliant. I think this hotel had been done up since we last visited which means it could only now be spectacular. This hotel offers everything you want and more. Couldn't of asked for a better place to stay in Mexico. Staff were fantastic the views were outstanding. Spa, pool, food, entertainment was all incredible. Couldn't fault it. Stay here you won't be disappointed. More>

We stayed here for 2 weeks very hot, plenty of space on beach and around pools! Food was good with a lot on offer. One draw back was the very slow lifts!!!!! Our room had great view of the beach and sea. More>

First trip - very nice hotel for what we paid

Chose this hotel based on TA reviews. Resort was very nice, very clean, people were always visible mopping, cleaning up, working outside, etc. Room was clean and comfortable and cleaned and stocked daily. Staff was excellent. Food - We did not like the Italian restaurant at all and didn't really care for the Japanese either. Steak restaurant was excellent - they were happy to give you the lobster tail and steak as a combo. Fusion restaurant was also quite good. Buffet for breakfast was amazing - so many options including a carving station that changed daily. Lunch buffet was also quite good - multiple meat and seafood choices as well as salads, sandwiches, pizza, burgers, etc. We had buffet for dinner twice - not bad. While the bars were very nice and poured whatever you asked for, I have to say that their wine selections were just not good. I tried them all and just didn't like them - You can purchase bottles from a special list but they should really consider an upgrade here. Pool and beach area were fine - plenty of chairs and umbrellas. I do prefer a long beach on walk on and you won't find it here. Wifi worked in and out of the room but you did lose connections at times Would consider a return trip if the price was right but would probably look to find another resort for comparison. More>

New Year's Eve in style!
Maxi M, Toronto, Canada

This was my first time in cancun and my first at a Riu Hotel. We were there for New Year's Eve, and although my review is a bit late, I thought I should at least add another positive review (not that they need any more!). We were a group of 5 adults and a baby. Everyone agreed that the hotel is worth all the great reviews they get. I find it odd when people complain about certain things - you'd think we stayed in a different resort. It has something for everyone - and I really stress the word everyone. The age groups ranged from toddlers to early 70s. Food was always plentiful and they tried their best to change things as much as possible. Breakfast starts really early and dinner ends at 10:30pm (what else could you ask for?). The entertainment staff is really good! They really know how to put on a show. Our only complaint really is something personal due to a misunderstanding with reception staff, which I will deal with in due time. I guess I can complain about the fact that people put towels on beach chairs very early in the morning as some sort of reservation (but don't end up using those chairs for hours??) which is quite unfair. But that's not the hotel's fault...it seems to be a rampant issue at every resort now unfortunately. I highly recommend this resort. You will have an amazing time!!! When looking at reviews, pay attention to the message and you will see that most complaints are not really about the resort itself, but rather people's unrealistic expectations. If you want a 8 star resort/hotel, you shouldn't go to Riu Cancun - go to Dubai. More>
