Sorry for the late review, but here it goes. IF YOU ARE A YOUNG ADULT AND WANT TO PARTY THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE. Went here 3 of my best friends ages 21-25 at the end of March (end of spring break) and it was great. Food is good and the drinks keep coming. The majority of the people here seem to be young 21-29. I purposely did not want to go during spring break because 1.i graduated and 2. I heard it is bombarded with college kids who can't drink in USA or go out with no questions asked so the service is a tad bit slower due to the hotel having to cater to so many people at once who all have the same intentions of to partying all day/night. So I went at the end to miss the rush. My friends and I left the hotel every night. You will experience the best clubs you have ever been too. Pros 1.WALKING DISTANCE TO THE STRIP OF INSANE FUN WHEN YOU LEAVE THE HOTEL. I would say this is def the closest hotel you can get to the strip. When I say close I mean 5 min walk close. 2. Felt safe the entire time. 3. So many young adults to mingle with. 4. Food is good. Drinks is good. (More you Tip the more attention you get when ordering drinks) 5. If you link up with people at the hotel and go to the promoters in the front of the hotel and get a good deal. 6. Amenities were clean. View was beautiful. Mexicos ocean is amazing. 7. Employees are very nice and will help at anytime. I gave a tip any chance I could. CONS 1.YOU CANNOT BRING ANYONE WHO IS NOT PART OF RIU INTO THE RIU. They will stop you immediately. 2. Sun gets blocked pretty early due to the other hotels. 3. Not much of a party scene in hotel. They have a disco but it was lame. Good to start at though for a pregame. 4. Resort is kinda small. 5. Strict on food reservations! This shouldn't really be a con, just don't come late. 6. The coral in the ocean is painful to walk on. 7. The midday event staff was ehh but I wouldn't say it was their fault. The speaker is not that loud if you ask me and it seem to be more for the families. Tips. 1. Don't expect the excursions to be quick. They last all day. So try not to overlap them. 2. Bring plenty of one dollar bills because you will eventually run out and not get change forcing you to use the bigger bills. 3.Bring your dancing shoes lol 4.Make friends and live your life I WILL BE BACK !!!!! Second time to Mexico and sadly this didn't amount to the great time we had last year at another resort! The good- food amazing, lots of choice. No need to reserve or long trousers for the men anymore. The beach- I found fine, yes a little rocky but didn't stop people having fun Pools- the bar pool, dirty and grotty, the other three seemed OK! Never had an issue getting a bed if you reserve when you go down to breakfast. Rooms- oh so standard!! We had a lovely view, but refurbished ?? A dodgy coat of paint on woodchip walls and ceiling. Our room was very damp, and had to be sorted !! If you have loud neighbours then don't expect much sleep Staff- work their socks off!! The little shop- Wowsa expensive and don't like to give change 🙈 Other visitors- honestly I felt it was more a group kind of holiday, I would never have taken my family. Gets very rowdy at weekends. Saw a number of arrests in main reception that is worrying while on holiday but on the other hand reassuring hotel staff are dealing with such issues if they arise. All in all we made the best of it and had a great holiday, would we go back? Sadly no. More>

This is a good hotel, with wonderful friendly staff, good food and a good position on a lovely beach, however,be aware that this is not a hotel for young families,it is a party hotel, which also caters for groups of loud Americans, who come for weekend breaks, who crowd round all the bars, shouting and are crammed in like sardines round the swim up bar. We went to the other Riu ,the Caribe. We went for breakfast and lunch and enjoyed all the facilities there for free. This hotel seemed to cater more for families, and had a better beach. The staff in this hotel are so very friendly and helpful, and did not find fault with the hotel, but some guests can be rowdy, more so at the weekend. This was our first visit to Mexico, found it so clean,no litter in the streets, everyone we met was friendly, the airport was spotless, and so efficient. Mexico is a lovely place to visit. When you leave the country, you must pay tax of £45 per person, which we weren't told about at the travel agents. More>

It was an amazing resort. They had great food, great staff, amazing views And great entertainment. The only downside is that room service is slow. And you cant bring food they serve at the buffet up to your room or even outside. More>

Just got back from this hotel, first visit to Mexico. Only one word sums up the hotel and our trip - excellent!!!😃😃😃. Hotel food was first class with so much to choose from, would have paid decent money for any of the meals. Pools and other public areas were regularly cleaned by all the hard working staff. Beaches are maintained daily by hotel staff, staff also patrol regularly asking if you need a drink so you don't have to leave the comfort of your beach bed. The Spa is worth a visit for a relaxing massage, the gym also has the basics needed. All in all, the hotel is easily worth the money and Cancun is a beautiful area with friendly people. More>
