My partner and I stayed at the Bavaro Princess from March 8th-15th and we really had a great time there. Rooms were really great. All rooms are surrounded by plenty of gardens and coconut trees. The beach opposite the Hotel is lovely. Staff were very helpful. The food in all the restaurants was good enough in general. There were plenty of mini trains connecting the beach with the rest of the Hotel resort. Animation team was also very friendly. Definitely, this place is a great choice to enjoy a relaxing holiday.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Bavaro Princess from March 20th-27th. We did not upgrade to platinum and we were not disappointed. We stayed in room 675, the rooms are beautiful and spacious and got to enjoy a jacuzzi and a nice big balcony. We we're a quick walk to the beach and not too far from the lobby.
The people are the most friendliest, always smiling and happy help if you had any questions. Raphy at the lobby and pool bar made the best Cosmos!
The food was great, we did a few a la cartes but mostly stuck to the buffet. The omelettes in the morning were delicious. We had no complaints, they always had something new to eat and I enjoyed every bit of it.
The resort is big and filled with lots of beautiful trees and lots of wildlife. The trolley came around often so it was easy to get to get around. Dinner time seems to be the busiest of course but they had two running when they were busy so it wasn't a problem.
We took advantage of the gym, which is also very nice! Clean towels and cold water, lots of upgraded equipment.
The pool is beautiful and seemed to be the place to be if your looking for a good time, there is also a smaller quiet pool near the lobby for those looking for something a little more relaxing.
The beach is BEAUTIFUL! It is where we spent the most of our days. We always found a chair without having to wake up early and "claim one". Of course there are waves (as other reviews had complained about) but you could still swim and have fun with no problems at all. There was some seaweed but not too much (I'm from the maritimes, I've seen beaches full around here). The only reason I would have liked to be platinum would be for the beach beds but it was still wonderful without them. There are people on the beach trying to sell you things but if u just shake your head no they won't approach you, but I heard they were easier to hagle down for a cheaper price than the shops.
I'm not someone who needs wifi 24/7 so I didn't have a big problem with it. I was able to log on a few times when the lobby wasn't busy but for the most part it just wasn't necessary. I can enjoy my vacation without constant internet access all the time.
I cannot say enough good things about this resort and for the wonderful employees. I cannot believe some of the bad reviews you read here, ignore them, some people just like to find things to complain about. We will be back again in a heart beat! Thank you so much for a wonderful vacation Bavaro Princess!
Be careful scheduling water activites

Overall the resort was great. The service was impeccable, everyone was so nice and helpful. The food was ok, nothing great in my opinion, but there was plenty of it. The only food that really stood out was at the restaurant Licey, it was amazing! The only problem we had was going parasailing. They take you out in a small boat to get to the parasailing boat, which I expected. What I did not expect is that they would make us swap boats 2 times before getting to the actual boat we parasailed from. It wasn't a problem for me, but we had 2 small children and some older people on the boat with us. Trying to get from one small boat to another, with some good size waves, was a little tricky for them. I'm surprised no one fell in or crushed their fingers between the boats. After parasailing, we came across another boat that was full of people who hadn't gone yet. They made us swap boats again! So 2 boats at max capacity trying to swap people was not fun. It was all very confusing, and no one understood why we had to do it. We were supposed to be gone for an hour, we we're gone for almost 2 1/2 hours, most of the time in the small boat just sitting there. Also, you don't go right off the resort, it was about a 15 minute boat ride down the beach to another resort to get to the boat for parasailing. I love being on the water, but some of the other people didn't and were starting to get a little sea sick. Other than that, we had a great time!

We travelled to this resort in March for a 2 week stay with a group of friends. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. It is a large resort but is walkable. They also had shuttle trolleys that picked up and dropped off in various places. The rooms we had were Junior Suites and were very clean and spacious with little outdoor sitting areas with a table and chairs. The rooms were well appointed with iron, ironing boards, coffee maker, safes and a mini bar stocked daily with beer, water and soft drinks included. The bathrooms had a large shower, and double sinks and there was a large jacuzzi tub in each room. The bed was a king size, although a bit hard but that may be preference. There was a couch and table with chairs. We had only lukewarm water in the shower for several days but they did try to fix it although unsuccessfully.
The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The ala carte restaurants were very nice and no reservation required. We never had difficulty being seated together even tho' we had a large party. We especially enjoyed Teppanyaki's. The buffet had a good variety and always had fresh fruit, cheese, pastries etc. We were suprised that premium alcohol was an extra charge (ie Bailey's, single malt scotch etc.) although you could get other liquors and bar scotch. Other resorts we have been to did not make a distinction.
The beach is beautiful with miles of white sand to walk and lots of trees and chairs. The pool areas were gorgeous, clean and had lovely warm water. Wifi is available but very slow. In this day and age it would be very nice to have wifi in the rooms although it is available in the lobby area as well as at the Cafe del Mar. If you go platinum there is also another area that may have better service.
The "animation team" was a talented group of young people that worked hard to provide aquasize classes, dance classes etc. during the day. Many of the evening shows were very good but often extremely loud. They did not start until 9:45 and after a long day in the sun would have liked them to be a bit earlier.
We felt very safe on the resort and beach area but would not recommend going off the resort without an escort or planned tour although the little shopping area just across the street was not a problem if you like to barter. Overall a pleasant two weeks.
