Great Resort!!!

Me and my wife stayed at Bavaro Princess room 664 from March 24th-March 28th 2017 and absolutely loved it!!! Check in process went smooth with no delays. Shuttle service throughout the resort being thats its huge in size. Never had to wait more than 5 mins on the designated stops. Rooms are great. Food is amazing. Pasta and Chinese restaurants are the best! Beach is very clean and well-kepted. Staff members Marlenis, Jose Luis and "Justin Bieber" always made sure we had a smile on our faces and that we were having a good time. Aracelis (waitress) from main buffet was amazing and very attentive to us. Alberto (Reception) was hands down the best person we encountered and really went above and beyond to make sure we where happy. Only complain was a rude staff member at reception when i approched with and issue of an id card my friend forgot, but as soon as Alberto found out, issue was resolved and no nightclub inside the resort, which would make it alot more comfortable for guest to attend. Would return and highly recommend!!! Thank you Alberto, Aracelis, Jose Luis, Marlenis and "Justin Bieber" for making this trip worth it!!!

I just returned from my 11th stay at Bavaro Princess. What was once a wonderful hotel is now a place you leave happy to close the door. The staff is very unkind, the food is awful even changing restaurant everyday. They all have very poor quality. I've been going to this hotel for the last 18 years and it's getting worse and worse. They are only looking for your dollars. Things that were included ( like lobster in one dinner ) now are paid extra (75$), good wine is paid extra and there are restaurants not included and the staff is always trying to convince you to go there ( That's probably why the food is now so bad in general ). In the buffets they are always trying to give you the worst part of the meat or the overcooked fish... This time there was a big cockroach in my room... In the middle of one of the nights water from the jacuzzi of the upstairs room fall suddenly into mine... It's too much...and I always pay more so that I have the upgrade for platinum guest...don't do it.... It's a pity that in such wonderful gardens there's an hotel that lost all it's charm... The staff is not enough, you have to wait for everything...the smile that used to be on everyone's faces ten years ago changed completely...now the guest is a burden they have to put up with... Before leaving I tried to complain to someone about this but the public relations Sra Ingrid showed her total indifference about the well being of their guests...that, and the rudeness of Juan the manager of platinum lounge means clearly that they don't care the minimum about the guests and their well being. Don't go there when you have plenty other better choices....

Great resort, great vacation, we wil be back!

We were at the resort from Thursday March 23 to Monday March 27. From the transportation from the airport to checking into the Platinum club everything went very smooth. We had to wait an hour or so for our room but that was not a problem. We were directed to the closest lunch buffet and given a drink for our walk. Platinum club - Well worth the extra bit of $$$. They were very helpful after my wife demagnitized her room key several times. The Platinum club was nice for grabbing a quick drink or bite to eat. Was never too crowded and the staff were helpful and friendly. Hotel Room - very nice and clean. Maid service was prompt daily and we were left with fresh towels whenever we needed them. Had one morning where we had a leak from the toilet which was fixed before we returned to the room. Great service! Food - They have many choices of a la carte and buffet restaurants. We never strayed from the buffets and the beach snack bar. Wasn't because we didn't want to try the a la carte but we enjoyed the variety at the buffet and the 5 of us traveling together were all able to leave our meal full and satisfied. Bars - Here again we didn't make it to all the choices. We spent the days at/in/around the pool bar or the bar by the beach and our nights at the lobby bar. We weren't looking for loud music or dancing so it was a good plan. Bartenders - all in all very efficient and friendly. I do definitely suggest tipping. We tended to tip at the beginning of each day and the bartenders were very good at remembering you and your drink preference. Pool Bar area - We spent a lot of time there. Even the one day which it rained pretty much all afternoon we were able to stay under cover and had a great day meeting a lot of different people. Highly recommend this area for daytime entertainment and meeting new people. Casino - I want to stress this is NOT part of the resort but sits just outside it so my words here are no reflection on Bavaro at all. The casino is a huge waste of time and money. Most games are old games from the US casinos. Payouts aren't good although one person in my group did win $100. Just not a fun lively place to go. The nightclub wasn't open yet when we were there so I can't speak to that. One other negative that again isn't a reflection at all on the Bavaro but I just want to let others know....if you are booked with a travel company (we had Apple vacations) just be forewarned they are helpful up until you don't use them to book excursions off the resort. We did a dune buggy trip but booked through another vendor at the resort. Our Apple representative found out, was very rude to us, gave my one friend the finger as he walked away and then would not help us with anything else the rest of our stay. Extremely rude. Will be reporting that to Apple directly. In conclusion....I highly recommend this resort. Its very large front to back but manageable to walk in less than 15 minutes. There's also a shuttle that runs pretty frequently for those who want a ride to different areas within the resort. I definitely intend to go back and will hopefully bring a larger group of people in my group.

We booked the Platinum package after reading several reviews. The rooms were nice, but nothing extravagant. After all, we didn't go there to let around in the rooms. The beds were comfortable (firm mattress). The staff was excellent, always willing to help and always happy. Their animation staff was fun and had no problem checking in to make sure you were having fun. The food in the actual restaurants was awesome. I was shocked by how good it was, the buffets were average for a buffet. The bartenders were on point and had a terrific memory (all of them). The resort was clean, the in house shuttle was a bonus, the beach was well maintained. Will definitely return

The room was spacious (King size bed) and very clean, the grounds were very clean and well lit at night, we felt very safe. The food was excellent and there are many places and types of food (Chinese, Italian, Seafood, Japanese, Local cuisine...)to choose from. At the pool bar you can swim up and say hi to Raphy & Melvin, they will make you anything you want to drink. We have been to this resort with the entire family 5 times, lots of free activities for the kids to participate in. This time we went without the kid and we enjoyed ourselves. The workers we ran into were happy and always greeted us with a smile. On the beach there were security to ensure there were not pushy salespeople. Of the many things we like about this resort having a bar & a restaurant on the beach is the best. We will definitely be back...
