Beautiful hotel, but has a couple of drawbacks
Apr 19 2018
This hotel is beautiful, very clean and has a gorgeous beach, but it is a bit spoiled by a couple of things, first the staff is the least friendly of any resort I have ever visited, hardly ever greet or smile at you even when you greet them, mostly just the bartenders seemed to be friendly all of the time. The entertainment team did not seem to engage the guests with activities, I have been to a good many resorts where they walk around and encourage you to join in activities and are very outgoing. The shows were the same group of dancers singers and entertainment team every night, the shows mediocre although there is one especially talented and lovely singer. The good points are good food especially the hibachi restaurant, the cleanliness of the hotel and it's beautiful grounds.

Great vacation
Apr 08 2018
We stayed at Bavaro Princess for 6days. Each day there were different options at the buffets and after trying the restaurants, we ended up eating st the main Buffett for most of our meals as it was the freshest and best quality. The fresh squeezed juices in the morning are the best! It is a great place for a family or a couple. We went with our kids-a 4 year old and a 2 year old. They had the best time! Lots of birds on site. The beach is great, the hotel grounds are well maintained and We loved that they recycle unlike some other resorts. Try the dirty monkey drink, it is awesome!!!

Beautiful Place for Couples & Families
Mar 30 2018
The staff was wonderful and catered to our every need! The beaches are amazing and the massive area of the resort made us feel like we could venture out without being stuck inside a resort. I would not and we were told by the hotel that outside the resort is not recommended for "wandering" about. You would not want to venture outside the walls of the resort too far. We loved it all inside the Bavaro Princess! We would recommend it to any and all...couples and families!

Overall good experience
Mar 30 2018
The overall experience of our trip was very good. The one stand out point of the trip that was not good was the Apple Vacation representative that met with us on the start of the 2nd day to talk about details, excursions and weekly needs. When we made plans to do an excursion, we decided to do it with a company that was not Apple. One of the Apple reps literally found us in the lobby as we where getting ready to depart and accosted us for not scheduling the excursion through her directly. She told my wife she had made a mistake and would regret it and felt sorry for us for not having the excursion insurance. The bottom line was the same excursion was far more costly through the Apple rep then what it was through the company we chose. Beside this we had a nice room near the pool and beach and appreciated the person that welcomed us moved us to that location. The property is large and if you are in a location near the lobby it is a distance to the pool and beach.

The Resort was beautifully kept, room, buildings and grounds, pool and beach all kept very clean. If anything the resort was too big, but the Tram rides were handy and well used.

Bavaro Princess
Mar 28 2018
Beach was excellent, we did the Platinum package which is needed at this resort. Food was typical all-inclusive food, not gourmet by any means. Pool needs some updating, the entertainment was horrible. Premium drinks were not available at the swim up bar. We should have chosen an adults only with premium drinks and gourmet food. Room was great, maid service was great, platinum beach service was awesome. Very nice vacation. They advertise two adult pools so we assumed for adults only. That was not the case. Too many kids.

Family Reunion 2018
Mar 20 2018
Loved the grounds and all the green space and the beach was one of the best in PC. The 96 buildings are nicely clustered together and very clean. Beds too Hard!! You could hear from room to room with the air vents in the closet. Thus needs to be addressed for my privacy especially traveling with family members!!! We could always find something to eat but we were not crazy about the food. Loved the each rest and bar for a beer and great fries and fryed chicken!! Drinks were weak and to srupy!!! That needs to be addressed! Front desk staff were helpful and kind. Return ride to airport we should be given the customs form to fill out ahead of time instead of filling out at airport and wasting valuable time. We will return for another family reunion!

Disappointed in Apple
Mar 05 2018
This was not a five star Apple hotel. The hotel was generally clean, and the staff was pleasant. The problem was with the overall upkeep and ambience of the property. It was rundown, tired and in desperate need of a facelift. There was a great deal of food selection, however the quality of the food was a huge disappointment. I was not expecting great food since it was an all-inclusive, but the food was poor, even at the a'la carte dining. The staff provided by Apple at the hotel were pushy and became rude once you told them you would not be buying an excursion (the female representative). I was shocked at her aggressiveness. It was a "decent" hotel, but I was expecting so much more based on what Apple promised and was truly disappointed that I wasted my hard earned vacation time. I thought I did my research, spending hours looking at reviews and ratings, and thought I found a good deal. I would have gladly spent more money to get the vacation that Apple promised. They need to be honest in their ratings so their customers know what they are getting.

Disappointed and concerned
Mar 02 2018
My clients were booked in a honeymoon suite. Upon request, I had email Apple Special Services several times. I was in touch with Marcus and Peter. We were documented that Dawn and Matthew would receive the VIP beach amenities & kept requesting for Matthews parents (Joanna and Mariusz) At check -in not only were the VIP amenities denied for Dawn and Matt, his parents did not receive the VIP amenities either. I am concerned because, my clients paid a great deal of money to travel. They ended up moving from the Honeymoon suite to a down graded room category, because of location and the resort was not sold out. Disappointed that our repore` in the travel industry doesn't mean anything with words or compassion for ones deserved get-a-away. I am hoping that my clients receive monies back or a voucher to use towards a future booking. Like I had discussed, they had planned on a destination wedding for this coming fall. I don't believe that they will be using the Bavaro in their future plans. Please be in touch as soon as you can to discuss. First time at all inclusive
Thu Apr 19 22:09:36 EDT 2018
We were there for a wedding and it was the first time at an all inclusive resort. If you enjoy eating and drinking this is a bargain. Rooms were nice and comfortable and no complaints there. However as Cathyandco said in her review make sure you take sunscreen and sundries because they are triple what you pay in the States. Someone had a urinary track infection and the antibiodics cost $300. Sunscreen will cost you $23. Also, the mosquitos are awful. I did not take repellant and I suffered. The beach is fabulous. Water is so crystal blue and clear. Very relaxing. You are annoyed by all of the vendors but if you are firm, they give up and move on. For me, I burn so baking on the beach is not my choice vacation and unfortunately you can't really leave the premise unless you have arranged with a concierge because is is not recommended to venture out on your own. This establishment didn't have courtesy wheelchairs for those needing one and renting one is expensive and I never saw a beach wheelchair. Some of the bars and eating kiosk just open at midnight. Good if you get the munchies! Good hamburgers, hot dogs and fries right near the beach and across from El Gaucho.

We were served drinks and given an explanation of what the platinum package included. I highly recommend the Platinum package for the upgrade. The suites are quite large. No disappointment other than it would be nice to have some suites with 2 queen beds instead of the one king bed. The beach is the best ever for me. Wonderful white sand, waves not rough, no steep decline to enter the water. Amazing beach. The staff at the Platinum beach area are so nice and very customer-oriented. Darwine was attentive and entertaining. Awie was our primary concierge and she took care of us throughout the trip. Sarah at the platinum lounge and she knew I loved my beer! She and Awie always in wonderful moods. They are definitely assets for this resort. Breakfast was always a treat. Emiliano is excellent - keep that young man. The gentleman that made the omelets - also another asset. Be kind to the staff and tip them They work for weeks at a time and only see their family a few days a month - plus they drive MILES AND MILES to get home. The resort is VERY clean. The ecological area with the turtles, flamingos, peacocks, fish, and more - amazing.

Great holiday but be aware of certain things

Great holiday had here. Went for a wedding and generally all went really well. Food in all restaurants is really good. Drinks and cocktails excellent!!! Going to the steak, seafood and Japanese restaurant s is a must. Food incredible!!!! Didn’t try Chinese as wasn’t recommended by others. I would recommend this hotel but please be mindful of below.... 1) Do not rely on buying things out there especially hotel shops. Nappies - 35USD, hairspray -12USD, Imodium- 35USD. Take all sun lotions / insect repellants yourself. 2) mosquitoes!!! Got bitten alive even with repellents, especially in restaurant (main buffet bar) as they are near water. 3) if you are by main pool near beach you will be hassled daily by people wanting to sell exclusions. Gets very annoying after a while. They seek you out if you show interest and are pushy. 4) Be VERY careful of the guys in white shirts with “ask me I am local” on the back. They will be by the pool and by breakfast bar. Will offer you free 30 min massage but it’s a selling pitch. You will be taken to another part of hotel and expected to sit in 60 min presentation before getting massage voucher. They are very pushy and do not make it clear. I tried to decline the presentation and was literally chased by one as I was trying to leave. Just say you are not interested as believe me nothing is for free. 4) if you are getting married take all documentation with you. The bride in my party had hair / make up included but they still tried to charge her on the day. Luckily she had papers proving was included. 5) photographer did not arrive for wedding we were told he went to another one by mistake!! Just clarify everything on your arrival including which restaurant you will be having your meal in. 6) rooms are not adjoining so if you have 2 suites as you are a family of 4 bear this in mind. We were next door to our children and they were quite safe even though I was initially nervous. 7) you are not able to reserve restaurants. Therefore arrive early for the popular ones such as steak house and Japanese. Even if you hv a 40 min wait for table you are still served drinks while you wait. 8) if you are a large party it can be worth going to the restaurant at 6pm to notify them of your booking so they can fit you in. If you leave it and just turn up later chances are you won’t be accommodated. Was a lovely place, we had a great time but be mindful of the above.

Multiple Awesome Vacations Spent At Bavaro Princess!

We have stayed at the Bavaro Princess 3 times over the past few years and we have nothing but good to say about this establishment. Everyone is so friendly and looking to make your stay even better. This all inclusive resort provides great food and entertainment that anyone can enjoy. All of the staff will go and beyond to make sure you are happy with your meals including having a cold beer at all times. The Resort offers a wonderful kids club with tons of excellent entertaining activities for the kids including their own pool and pirate ship slides. Our son loves the kids club and all of the directors including Alexandra, Anairis, Claribel, Chavely and Diana who take excellent care of him while at the kids club. Alexandra was excellent with our son and making sure he was meeting new friends at all times. She exceeded our expectations. She is great at her job. We already planned our next trip there and cannot wait to see all the familiar faces we have gotten to know over the years. This truly is remarkable place to visit so don't hesitate to make it your next vacation.

Aggressive vendors and concierges
bjscounty, Belleville, Canada
Wed Apr 18 13:46:15 EDT 2018
I expect to deal with pushy locals when off the hotel property, but unfortunately this resort actually allows them inside the property. The management organizes Dominican style market nights in the main courtyard just off the main restaurant once or twice per week. The vendors aggressively follow you around and don’t take no for an answer. Again, I expect this off site but not at a supposedly luxury resort. Additionally, the resort has a number of concierges who loiter just outside the main buffet and trick people when they leave. They ask you if you’ve received the free gift, and then when they walk you to a table they tell you that you have to sit through an hour presentation in order to get whatever the gift is. When we said no thank you he started guilting us saying most people do it because he has kids he needs to support. Again, not what you’re at a luxury resort for. Also the on-site ‘dr’ they advertised at their medical clinic turned out to be about 20 years old and was using Google translate to try to communicate with us.
