All I have to say, is that this place was perfect!!!We had our wedding there. they went above and beyond for us.
the food was great, the pools, drinks and staff were great. clean grounds... the beach is beautiful.
Some of our guests did get sick, i don't know if it was the food? it didn't affect everyone... i believe part of it was the heat and alcohol.
I wish we had a longer stay!
The TRUTH about Bavaro Princess

My wife and I visited this resort from Sept. 09 to the 16. We did take the platinum suite and it was worth every penny,
The rooms are beautiful (far from being shabby), extremely clean and well stocked every day. Our first night, we came back to our room from supper to see that a turn-down service was done and to a platter of fruit and bottle of rum.
Our second day(wedding anniversary) we came back to the room from a morning of massages to see our room decorated from top to bottom, never have we seen such time and detail done for us at any other resorts we have been to.
This resort has something special...THE STAFF. Every person would stop to say hello to us and ask us how we were. The AC stopped working one day and within 20 minutes a technician was there to fix it, took him an hour to change the motor; later-on, guest-services called to ask if all was good.
Rodolpho and Jonathan were awesome, took care of us all the time.
House-keeping was outstanding, our room was cleaned EVERYDAY and always had flowers and animal towels.
Buffets were very good with enough variety to please the pickiest of people. Room service menu had a lot of variety. Pescador was very good, so was the Fondue resto at the neighboring resort. Breakfast had it all; bacon, baked beans, brkfst. sandwiches, mimosas, blood pudding etc. (BTW there are 2 brkfst buffets to choose from.)
Lunch-time, Mc princess by the beach and 2 buffets to choose from.
Supper, The a la carte restos and a buffet to choose from.
I cannot believe that some people are complaining about variety, about quality.
First of all, you are going to another country. If you do your HOMEWORK, THE CARIBBEAN'S staple foods are stewed meat ,rice and peas. IF YOU DON"T LIKE IT, STAY THE HELL HOME!!!
Beautiful, beautiful and beautiful!! The beach was spotless, the staff works hard to keep it clean. Water was clear and turquoise.
The grounds are very big and beautiful.
The weather was very hot and humid ( time of the year, perfectly normal).
Yes there was plenty of mosquitoes and yes I did get approx. 15-20 bites my first night, but I DID NOT put repellent, my fault.
To all those complaining about bugs, guess what... IT"S AN ECO RESORT!! BUSHES AND WOODED AREA + heat = BUGS, DEAL WITH IT or don't go!!!
Yes there might be a language barrier at times, but YOU ARE VISITING THEIR COUNTRY!
Anyways, kindness and good service is universal, everyone can understand that!
To all the complainers:
"Buffet food was cold" of course if you walk for 10-15 minutes around the buffet your food will get cold!
"drinks were week" then ask for double alcohol.
" no food we're used to" If you had food like back home, then it would be waste of $$.
" wifi no good" we never had any problems in platinum area or main lobby.
All this to say, that this resort is beautiful and the staff is amazing.
We've been to "Sandals", to "RIUs", to "IBEROSTARs", and this was our best trip!
THANK YOU BAVARO PRINCESS!!!!

My wife and myself have stayed in Bavaro Princess six times and have sent our daughter and soninlaw for a vacation there. It is one of the finest resorts we have ever stayed in the islands. The reason I am writing this review is because when I read some of the negative reviews I think these people must have stayed at a different resort. Bavaro Princess doesn't treat you like guests they treat you like family. There isn't one person employed there that doesn't greet you with the biggest smile and a Holla. The grounds are absolutely magnificent. The resort is huge and extremely well kept. The rooms are huge and clean and well kept. There is always a nice surprise on your bed towels made into dove with flower petals all over. My wife adores this. The food is amazing. The buffets have a great selection and the sevice is great and always greeted with a big smile. The alacarts are wonderfull and the service is the best.As for vendors on the beach they are poor people trying to make a living. If you don't want to buy just say no and they are gone.Hotel security is great and do every thing they can to make your vacation safe and enjoyable. We are going again last week of Nov.Cant wait to see my old friends again. The beach is one of the best you will ever visit. White sand manicured to perfection and you can walk for miles. But get there early to get a cabana. The pool is very clean with lots of activities and a childrens pool as well. There is a bar at the beach as well as great buffet a snack bar with great burgs and fries and huge barbeque.Great entertainment at night. I have been to all the islands at least fifty times throughout the years and stayed at numeral resorts. This resort is the best. I don't usualy write reviews until I come home from a vacation but I just cannot believe that those negative reviews came from people who have stayed at this wonderful resort. Every employee at this resort goes out of there way to make sure that you are completely satisfied and happy. We are so looking forward to going back and seeing old friends again. If anyone wants more info email me and I will be happy to answer.

I have just returned from 7 nights at the Bavaro Princess. I traveled alone since my husband passed away 4 months ago and I was wanting to celebrate my 60th birthday.
On arriving the check in was good. I was given a lovely room. I was a little bit intimidated by the size of the resort to begin with but as time past it did not seem as big anymore and was easy to get around, easy to walk everywhere or get their trolley service.
The staff were wonderful and accommodating. My only negative would be that it would have been better had some spoken better english or at least they have someone fluent in english. The Guest services were great and especially my housekeeping staff. Some of the bar staff were really great too. They really do try hard to make you happy there.
Do not try using the internet in the lobby. I spent 3 hours trying. Just give in and pay the $5 per day to have a router and use it in your room or where ever you go. Well worth it.
I tried most restaurants and most were pretty good. My favorite was Pescatore (seafood) and the buffet near the lobby. Food and service were great.Least favorite the Italian Pasta Bella and the paid Lobster Fest at the Casa Del Mar.
The beach is stunning. The pool closer to the beach is the better of the 2.
The entertainment was really wonderful and the entertainment staff were always getting everyone involved. A lot of the music is Spanish so you really need to learn the dancing. They are wonderful dancers.
I do not recommend using the spa services there as they are over the top in price. Use a reputable service at a plaza or one recommended.
The grounds are beautiful and make for lovely walks, especially through the Mangrove walk.
Shopping, be careful of the local ones as they are all the same, mostly market style. You need to bargain with them. My friend wanted to buy something and they started at $150 Us and she ended up getting it for $40. Just walk away and more often than not they will get you to come back and agree on price. I went to the Plaza Palmerya which had a free shuttle and was nice. Had label shops mostly but also a supermarket which had much better prices than most. Also there are several American restaurants there if you have the need. Shop around recommended.
This is a place for romance, families or singles. It covers all peoples needs.
I really enjoyed my stay and it got better every day and I was sad to leave.

We just returned from our third visit. The resort is beautiful, everyone that works there is wonderful. We always go Platinum, it is worth the extra cost. Thank you to Anna in the Platinum lounge. thank you to Johana for our speedy check in ( there were 9 of us). Thank you to our favorite waitress Franca in the la Hispaniola buffet.
Everyone at the resort is so wonderful, and with the thousands of people they see every week, they always remember us!
The beach was beautiful, and after walking, we have discovered that the Princess is on the best area of the beach. The seaweed problem has resolved itself, we saw hardly any.
Thank you Maria for keeping our room nice and clean and with fun decorations every day!
We will be back, hopefully sooner than later!! Miss you already!
