This customer service when trying to obtain assistance is horrible. For such a high-end/high priced resort, you would expect top notch service. I called several times to obtain information on transportation service information from PUJ to the resort, which they provide for a fee. I was told they don't do that and to get a Taxi. However, their site lists transfers, again for a fee. When I called back to speak to someone, I was hung up on 4 times and transferred to a number that just rings twice.

Five star level VIP Treatment

We visited this resort back in June 2015 and we brought a crowd. We booked a family suite and they ended up upgrading us to two bedroom suite. Had a VIP check in at the private check in counter. Needless to say we were impressed with their service. Their member area was huge and we got a taste of that. Their restaurant choices were great. Many different cuisines offered from American and Japanese to Italian and 5 star adult only restaurant was a nice touch as well. Food available at breakfast buffet and other buffets were great. Staff were cordial and tried to engage and distract kids. We also got a nice free bottle of vino everyday and after a while we couldn't even finish them all. Various activities for kids were available at the nearby Reserve and our kids enjoyed that. Aquatic activities were good as well with Scuba center right on the property. With good dive sites nearby. All reachable after a short boat ride. We enjoyed the nightly shows especially their Michael Jackson show. Regretting not going to more shows. All in all we'd go back in a heart beat.

We stayed @ the far end of the resort bordering the Reserve. Royal service meant that our group had our own private pool and beach area, along with access to the entire resort. It was all inclusive for food and beverages, and butler service was included. Miguel, our butler was both informative and attentive. I had heard from some of the other guests in our group that their butlers were a little rude and non-accommodating. I guess it's hit or miss with the butler service. The restaurants and meals were plentiful, although everything closes super early so plan on eating dinner by 7pm since all of the restaurants have a close time around 9:30pm. The casino is super tiny with crappy slots and dealers that are as rude as can be. We had heard the casino @ the adjoining resort was a little larger and friendlier, but we didn't have a chance to venture over. Our overall experience was positive.

Great Resort for the money

we had a short stay of 5 days at this resort and overall our experience was really good. The staff was pretty friendly--Franklin helped us out in the beginning with getting settled. We did manage to avoid the "timeshare" meeting which seems to be offered at all of these resorts. The only low point of the trip was the initial room we were given. We had booked a Junior Suite which was very nice looking and spacious. The main problem was that there were tons of flies and mosquitoes that didn't seem to go away after one night. Additionally, it looked like some of the appliances (fridge, shower floor) could use some maintenance. Plus, due to the size of the resort, it was in a building that was a far walk to the main part of the resort and beach. After speaking with the management, they initially offered to spray the room for the bugs, but after insisting, they did move us to another room. This room was 100 times better--much closer, cleaner, and only one mosquito in the beginning. They even filled out whirlpool tub with bubbles and rose petals on our last night! The food was ok--since our trip was fairly short, we only got to experience a couple of them. We had to go to the Blue Agave non-reservation restaurant on the first night since the dinner reservations close at 4pm. The food was only ok there and the service was pretty slow, even for early evening. We went to Mizu the next night (although surprised that we had to get a ride to get there as it's located in the Reserve) and this was our favorite meal. They were very accommodating of my food allergy as well. Vento was the next night and the meal again, was only ok, nothing terribly great. Rare was our last restaurant and the food was pretty good--the main entrees weren't very imaginative but good. Angel was our server and he made the experience pleasant. The beach was beautiful as expected. We had overcast skies on a couple days but it was still nice and warm. They have many cabanas with loungers on the beach--but found out quickly that they get reserved REALLY quickly. There doesn't seem to be a policy on saving so we had to wake up early to try to get a good spot.

Overall Nice Resort - glad I didn't pay however

I won a trip with company to the Resort - if I had to pay for my experience, I probably would have been more upset. Our butler was a waste and not helpful, the food was not great overall. The beaches are fantastic however - very relaxing. We couldn't find any events we wanted to do or try, so pretty much stayed at the hotel. I truly believe a lot starts with your butler - if you do not get a grand tour and just head to room - change quickly
