Wow what a place!!

Myself and my partner found this place on trip advisor after deciding to visit mexico, it had such good reviews we decided to book. Before jetting off I had read some further reviews about the preferred club, so we upgraded. Well worth it! Why not, your on holiday! From the moment you walk in, this place says luxury and elegance! We had a champagne arrival and our bags collected straight away, our room was ready so all we needed to do was check in. The room was beautiful with an amazing view of the ocean and the lagoon. Beds were comfortable with lots of space, fluffy cushions, big shower and vanity area. Room service was spot on, we also had a turn down service each evening. This was lovely as we would come back to the room with dim lighting, the relaxing music on and chocolates on the bed. Had such a chilled out feeling, just what you need on a holiday like this. Our concierge Gabrielle was always on hand if we needed anything, though to be fair you could of asked any of the staff members and they would help. Because we had upgraded we were able to use the pool on the 12th floor, this was an infinity pool with a waiter service. They never once saw us without a cocktail in hand! We had lunch from here several times which was Mediterranean, the garlic shrimps and beef skewers were amazing! We did spend a day around the main pool area but found this a little more chaotic, there was lots going on and different activities happening, which is great but after spending a few days around the preferred pool I enjoyed that relaxing atmosphere more. I probably wouldn't of noticed this if it wasn't for upgrading. You could always get beds around the main pool and preferred pool. We hit the gym a few times while being there, after all the food you eat it's needed. Gym equipment was high tech and easy to use, always a staff member around to help. Also they provided my favourite class each morning, spinning! 9.30am in the gym each morning. Each machine had a fresh bottle of water and a towel provided, very clean and tidy with a variety of equipment. Just up from the gym is the spa, as preferred members we were able to use the facilities for free for 24hrs, otherwise this would usually be 80 dollars. The spa was lovely, best one I have been too, clean, friendly staff and refreshing. We didn't have any treatments though. I did consider this, however found them very over priced and don't pay anywhere near that when back home. I expect to pay a little more than usual but not that much. Now for the food! Where do I start, anyone that has complained or gave a bad review about the food in this place must be mental. We eat out a lot and very much enjoy good food, usually an all inclusive for us isn't an option and I don't tend to like the set out of them, but this was completely different. Each restaurant had a special feel, from the decor to the lighting. So many choices on the menus we would often order 2 mains each and share as we couldn't decide. Our favourite places were dragons oriental dining and nebbiolo the Italian. Though we didn't have a bad meal at any, the steak in nebbiolo was so yummy. They also have an Italian salad bar with meats, cheeses and olives! Delicious! Breakfast each day was just amazing, we had the same waiter every time called Geiser and he knew exactly what we wanted to drink each morning without even asking, ready with fresh coffee and he couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast is a killer though, there's nothing you can't get and everything is so yummy! Which means you eat so so much, leaving you full for most of the day. However the food is that good you want to eat lunch otherwise you feel your missing out! It's too good to say no, and when you think that's enough, for the preferred members you could have champagne afternoon tea each day on the 21st floor! Every day we stopped off for tea and cakes and was served by a lovely waitress named Yolanda, what a sweetie! Always a big smile on her face and would be ready each day with our drinks, she remembered our routine and what we liked. There was always a good variety of cakes and sandwiches, also more champers! The cakes in this place do taste as good as they look too, actually better!! We also ordered room service one lunch time and had the works, again this was lovely! The one thing I did find was that the wines were very pricey, for what were only average bottles. They do have some good bottles, though be knowledgeable about your wines otherwise you could be paying over the odds for a bottle worth less than a tenner. Though the cocktails were that nice I didn't drink much wine in the end anyway. There were a few different bars, all with a relaxing feel. The sports bar and piano bar were a little more lively during the evenings, just a shame they aren't open later. They have a good cocktail menu and would make you what ever you ask for. We loved our experience at the vines, I could of cried when we had to go home! We didn't want to leave, if you want a luxurious holiday this is the place to stay. There were a lot of honeymooners and we were often asked if we were celebrating something special (just being on holiday) so if you were here for a honeymoon we noticed banners outside rooms, and cute little extras which I thought was a lovely touch. I have never felt so relaxed and chilled out, no queues for things, no crowds of people, waited on hand and foot! Amazing hotel, couldn't of been better. We would definitely come back here!! More>

We arrived at the resort and were immediately impressed by the beauty and the extreme cleanliness, then we saw the stunning turquoise waters... Ahh the beauty of it all but none of it could even compare to the employees. The employees are definitely the best we have ever encountered in all of our travels. They work so very hard and are kind and humble and always have a smile and a knee be word. First we met Daniel Romo who was assigned to our floor as our butler. He was so wonderful and helpful, we will never forget him. On the night of our Anniversary he and Daniella Zaldivan decorated our room and left us a heart touching note. They are the best of the best. Next we met Tharvin Benitez at the beach, he set up our chairs for us and later we came into contact with him on the 12 floor at the pool. He always made sure we were fine and spent minutes talking with us. He is definitely an asset to the resort. On to dinner at our favorite restaurant; Nebbiolot, it is here that we met amazing employees. First, Jessica Boix, she greeted us and made sure everything was perfect, so sweet and kind, the managers, Giovanni and Eduardo, absolutely perfect, but the definite highlight was our waiter, Jorge Delgado. This young man is intelligent, knowledgeable, hard working, humble and genuinely nice. He is a total asset to secrets. When we first arrived, employees would say "welcome home", we were confused but now we get it. During our 7 days there, we felt at home and began to feel as though many of the employees were family. We pray that someday we are blessed with another vacation to Secrets The Vine Cancun. Thank you all Gus and Jody Carson More>

This is our 2nd Secrets Resort! The one in Puerto Vallarta is much better! First let me say the service and the food are top notch! We have enjoyed the people that work here! Starting with the initial greeting of "Welcome Home", glass of champagne and a cold towel! Every last one has made our stay great! We are on our last day and really appreciate all the wonderful staff! Now for the accommodations! We chose preferred again since our experience in PV was so phenomenal! This time it was sort of a waste! The room has no tub! The preferred lounge has no bar (they do provide liquor but we enjoyed having an actual bar before) very limited food choices in the lounge compared to PV and our fridge and snacks were not replenished everyday! In PV we told them exactly what we wanted and it was there everyday!! Our room 2220 is right by the employee room and is very noisy! The walls are thin and we are by the elevators! We decided not to complain! But do NOT get a room by the elevator or service room! You will be disturbed from 7am on!! The one good thing is they offer Netflix which is a plus since most channels are in Spanish! The pool area is nice! No swim up bar! However, once again the staff will make sure you have what you need! Blue water grill is amazing as is Dragons! You will not be disappointed! To get into the city or shopping take the bus! It's only $1 and they come often! Hold on because they are fast! Cancun is beautiful and we will be back! Not certain it will be at Secrets! We plan on visiting Secrets (we are still Secrets fans) in Jamaica next year and really hope the accommodations are better than here at the Vine! More>

we arrived on the 30/08/2016 staying for 2 weeks with my son and his girlfriend from the moment we arrived we were treated just perfect cold towels glass of champagne taken straight to our landing on the 27 floor where we were checked in by our very own butler service who were then on hand for the rest of our stay. we were taken to our rooms which were beautiful very well presented and the views were breath taking we were lucky enough to have had both Lagoon side and the Caribbean sea to wake up to each morning, mini bar was filled daily toiletries and fresh towels too. The room was cleaned to high standards daily and the the turn down service was romantic. we were talked through most services we could use including bars restaurant's and special VIP Services as we had an upgrade we used the Market place every day breakfast and lunch, the staff was exceptional in their work Ceaser and Jesus stood out food was just beautiful we dined in most restaurant's in the evenings could not be faulted. The bars were friendly and always attentive the staff looked after you so good Piano Bar with Jesus and co were on hand and always made us welcome this bar was good entertainment and DJ till 2am (not that we ever made 2am :) Sports Bar was ok too although not open 24 hours we did ask for it to be opened for the football early one morning and the manager made it possible very helpful and also couldn't do enough for you. Pool area was perfect the sea salt grill area was where we stayed the staff were always on hand for a cocktail or a shade I cant remember his name we thought he was so happy friendly and great service the beds to the left of the steps he served us top man, We didn't use the spa we were disappointed you had to pay for this as wherever we have stayed before Hyatt Excellence Riu never had to pay to use spa itself and the massages also were very expensive always paid around 90 dollars for 50min massage the gym was great too could of done with being a little cooler but staff on hand always all in all a class holiday and had the most wonderful time felt so safe happy and relaxed would definitely return to a secrets this one specially have stayed at secrets wild orchard in Jamaica too well recommended oh I must say our pools were a pleasure to look at blue same colour as the sea unlike some we viewed from our balcony Thankyou for a fabulous 2 weeks More>

As I sit in my very nice jr. Preferred suite on my last evening at Secrets my only thought is how can I stay longer! We are actually members at Palace but over the years service had fallen and the deals had changed so we thought we would give someone else a try and we are thrilled we did. Loved this place! We stayed for a week. It is in the middle of hotel zone but unless you go off property it's hard to tell as it lays out well. Nothing is much of a walk to dinner or gym or pool. We go in September due to lower cost and much smaller crowds. Here are the pros and cons. Pros 1. Food is solid and enjoyable. Blue water grill steakhouse is my favorite followed by the Italian then Mediterranean and the rest are very decent as well. Wait staff went from very average to very good. 2. Pool and Chairs were plentiful but again it is September. If you go poolside ask for Noroberto or Teresa. Great service and friendly people. 3. Beds very comfortable with soft sheets. 4. Showers excellent with multible heads and good pressure and very hot. 5. Balconies large. 6. Internet strong and good coverage in rooms and pretty good by pool to stream music or work if you really have to. 7. Check in was easy but don't think about a room until 3. No early check in so no rush to get here early because you will wait for room. 8. Entertainment staff was good. Miguel is the best but Anna and Hali are great as well. Water volleyball a must. Evening entertainment not as strong as could be. Cons: 1. Spa. Cannot use the steam and sauna without paying extra. 2. Massages are drastically overpriced. 3. Opens at 8 am so no early steam even if you did pay the extra fee. 4. Pretty heavy push to buy over priced wines. If your looking for an all inclusive adults only this is it. Staff friendly and very helpful and attentive. You won't be disappointed and we hope to return next year. More>
