Ya e the pool a poor because of all the missing tiles in the pool. I saw couple people get cuts on the feet ans the one needed stitches. Luckily no one from our party got hurt. Overall appearance was great and the value we spent was well worth the stay. Food was very good as well.

Used apple for years-great results. Booked Now Jade, stayed at Now Sapphire many times, wanted to try another property. Upon check-in, room was unavailable. Wanted to transfer to Sapphire for the night which we declined as too much hassle and would loose one day of vacation. Room was at far back of property overlooking lagoon "swamp". Insisted they move us to better room. Moved to a very nice room with ocean view. NO air-conditioning. (Understood from other guests the AC was out most everywhere. Finally got the AC fixed - great stay from then on. UNTIL, the person checking us in insisted on having my credit card to place a $300.00 US "deposit" on the room which I had already paid for. He had my credit card info and proceeded to do so. I was extremely upset but he insisted it would be refunded upon check out. Talked to many guests and they apparently did the same to many of them. NEVER had Now properties requested this before. Upon check out I had to insist on a credit. My CC still not showing the credit only the $300.00 charge. Will fight with card company on this issue. We will not return to Jade for this very issue. The property, most all staff, food and service, other than pool/bar, were excellent. I simply do not like being treated this way after being a loyal Now guest for years.

Overall, "Good" Experience
NURRAY B.
Jul 01 2018
My husband, grown son and I recently spent a week at this resort. Overall, I would rate our experience as "good". The two big bummers of our trip were out of anyone's control. First, it rained 6 of the seven days we were there. Secondly, there was a huge issue with seaweed (I was somewhat expecting this as reading a review right before we left, the reviewer mentioned the seaweed situation. As for the resort, we were pretty pleased overall. As being new to the All-Inclusive Resort experience, it gave us some insight to what is important to us as travelers. The food, overall, was just OK. They are feeding masses of people, for that reason you may see the same food in restaurants as you do on the buffet (mainly "side dish" type items). By the end of the week we were bored with our food options as we felt like we'd been eating a lot of food for the whole week. Mind you, we did eat at every restaurant at least once and only the buffet once for dinner. The drinks were very weak! Not that I need my socks knocked off, but, I'd like to at least know there is some alcohol in my drink. Come to find out, this is a common complaint with inclusive travel (again, we are very new to this type of vacationing). We also felt, at times and by certain staff, to "tip" extra. Gratuity is included when you pay for your stay, which our travel agent was sure to remind us of. However, there were times where it almost felt like staff were waiting for an extra little something. I was a little turned off by this. Being from the US we are used to tipping all the time. It's easy to lose sight of the fact that you've paid for these tips when you paid for your trip. Yes, there were times where we felt that we really received above and beyond service. However, I don't like being made to feel "obligated" to tip more. This trip has helped us realize what is important to us when we travel. This is a nice resort with, what I felt, good amenities and a very nice staff.

not very courteous staff, very pushy with time share, birds swoop in through the outdoor area, recommend nets for people that are afraid of birds. seaweed control on beach was limited to none

Decent Property but Inconsiderate to Vacationers

The hotel aggressively pushes timeshare presentations and constantly calls you at 8am to come pick up coupons for hotel services that could have been provided at check in, but rather they continuously wake people out of their beds on vacation to come pick up the coupons then aggressively push the time share. it is interruptive to my vacation to be harassed about a time share.

My husband and I traveled to this resort for a destination wedding of a good friend. The hopes of a nice couple days together as a couple were quickly lost upon arrival. Our transportation from the airport was more like a high speed chase through the flooded streets with our driver weaving to pass other vehicles. When we finally arrived to the hotel we were informed that we had a tropical view which upon booking we had requested an ocean view with a king bed. In order to accommodate our request, they happily charged us almost an additional $300. The cost may have been worth it had it not been for the following: 1)Beach view meant staring at piles of endless seaweed along with the supposed clean up efforts. 2) A jacuzzi tub which filled with brown water and last but certainly not least 3) Water dripping through our ceiling all night long and a bed full of gnats when we awoke. Although one calculus not change the weather, service should have been amazing due to the cost of this resort. Some examples of poor service included, turn down service only 1 night, towel atremdents refusing to give guests towels even when they preceeded to wrap themselves up in them and the implication of tips around every corner. Realistically at this resort the only way to get ANY assistance it by tipping and that is still not guaranteed. Bars and restaurants were repeatedly out of beverages, food and desserts. I have traveled to many places including apple vacations to Mexico and Jamaica before and have never had any of the multitude of issues we encountered on this stay at the Now Jade. The hotel needs a complete overhaul of the building structure, food and beverage service and overall service. I also try to find the silver lining but unfortunately in this case the best part of our vacation was leaving with no chance of ever returning. I sincerely hope you are able to improve this resort with the above feedback and hopefully keep a higher standard for the price offered for these vacations if you would like travelers to continue wonbook through Apple. Thank you

I believe we arrived around 2 to 2:30 pm. We were told our room was not ready. i realize the hotel check in is not until 3, but i believe the room was ready but the "sales" people want to get to you first to tell you what they can offer you, if you listen to their hour and half presentation etc. etc. So while we were going through what he was trying to offer us for going through the presentation i looked up and a fellow guest and he said "Run". I should of listened. We were extremely tired from travel (plane was delayed initially so we missed our connecting flight) the flight was longer than expected. We really just wanted to see our room!!!! after pressing the issue of just letting us see our room and we'll get back to you...he just kept on with it saying he really needed an answer if we would do the presentation. i wasn't on board what so ever but my husband thinking you can actually get something in this world for free was on board. So we said Wednesday just to tell him something to leave us alone, and after that was over our room was magically ready and we got to go to it. After unpacking we realized our room was staying muggy and was not getting colder. We let front desk know and we changed rooms. The new room was colder, but smelled like mold or something. i decided to just deal with it. im tired, its our honeymoon, and i am ready to just unpack and enjoy!! I think we probably would of stayed all 6 days if the weather was better, but after a day and a half of being there it was rain and storms from then on out. Obviously we know the hotel cannot control the weather and they definitely had entertainment set up everynight, but since it was raining we frequented the lobby area...which was a mistake!! Every time you would go to the lobby or by the lobby one of the sales people would come up to you EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. We told them no and started walking away, but they would walk with you. After a couple of days this is highly frustrating!!!!!!!! Maybe it was the rain, the room, but you just can't help but feel bombarded. It's like you had to stear clear of the lobby. Over all the resort ittself is not bad. It was definitely decent food for all inclusive, and the bed was really comfortable. The issue i had was with the sales people constantly in your face. It's my honeymoon i just want to be left alone and relax. We did end up leaving two days early and i wouldn't go back to the Now Jade resort.

Decided to go on a last minute trip for my husbands birthday. Had a few days off work, so we arrived Monday, the 12th and left early morning Thursday, the 14th. Shortly after check in, they came wanting us to participate in a seminar/ sales pitch. I politely rejected, explaining it was a short trip and didn't want to waste our limited time doing that. They insisted for over 15 minutes that we should participate and I had to continue to say no. Day 2, I went down to ask about transportation to Cancun. They wasted another 10 minutes of my time trying to insist on us participating in this seminar, explaining it would take "only" 45 minutes of my time. I, again, explain it was a short trip and was not worth it. I did start to get a little irritated and expressed that I didn't want to be asked again. After that, they gave me the information I asked for with little hesitation. On day 3, they asked us about participating in these seminars AGAIN. I want to make it clear that the grounds were stunning, the food was delicious, and the room was unbelievable. We were in the preffered club ocean view room. Absolutely beautiful resort. I would probably recommend this resort to friends and family, but expressing to them the strong insisting of the staff to participate in these seminars.

Beach Beware
ROGER M.
Jun 13 2018
We visited Now Jade and as the hotel was clean and nice, the staff was somewhat friendly. The beach was horrifying and we were told that the Seaweed was out of their control, and I agree. What was in the Resorts control was the cleanup and removal, and the did a terrible job. The surrounding hotels did a fantastic job and I would have gladly moved to any of them. Staying In the preferred club area was on the end of the stinky seaweed piles, not a preferred beach location. Excuses are not acceptable when everyone around you takes care of their property and you do little. My last trip with Now Jade and they represent AMResorts poorly. Shame on the management!

Now Jade-Cancun is awesome! Our family, two adults and four children (21,19,16 & 13) loved it! The staff was excellent! From the entertainment to the food staff...everyone was great! Our rooms were nice. Our sons room had a smelly stink to it but we believe it came from the air. The seaweed was terrible on the beach and it stunk. While we would have loved to enjoy the beach, the seaweed was to gross to get around. But the pools were awesome! The infinity pool made up for the gross seaweed. The had Zumba, water aerobics, and games for the kids each day. We would recommend it to any family that wanted a great getaway in Mexico!

Staff was very friendly, food was good cast aways for lunch was our favorite. The Italian place was my favorite for dinner. Drinks and bottled water were always at your hand the spa was expensive but for 50 min couple massage and a hour in facility sauna steam hydro pool it was 230 usd. The only bad part of trip was lock box would not work they cane right away and fixed it when called but then stopped working again. Also a pipe or something started to leak in ceiling from ac unit i believe as soon as i called someone came and fixed problem. Again staff is definitely there for you. Very clean resort as well they are seen cleaning night and day around resort

Don’t panic about the seaweed it’s not that bad!

On arrival at Now Jade I initially felt disappointed - the hotel was bigger than I had expected and it felt dated and tired. However the next day after a good sleep and as each hour passed we began to realise what a wonderful place this hotel is. Firstly, and most importantly, the Hotel staff are fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way to help and make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Their English is very good. There is an excellent pool and beach waiter service and not only do they serve drinks all day but keep the pool and beach area immaculately tidy at all times. Angel was our waiter and he was efficient, chatty and kind to our children. We had read comments before we left the UK about problems with sea weed on the beach. The amount of seaweed varies from day to day and there was only a couple of days where there was a significant amount. It did not spoil our stay and the hotel has around a dozen workers clearing the beach of as much of it as possible from early morning throughout the day. You can walk for a good 40 minutes up the beach. There is a wonderful massage “tent” about 10 minutes walk along the beach (to the left of the hotel as you look at it from the sea) - look for the yellow flag and 40 USD sign. They actually only charge USD 35 or Peso 700. Much cheaper than the hotel spa which was enormously expensive (around USD213 if I recall). The rooms are clean and well maintained - we had a suite with garden view. Bathroom was massive with two sinks, a huge walk in shower and a whirl pool bath. The mini bar (free) was replenished regularly and offered coke, sprite, water and beer. We didn’t use the room service but it seemed to be used a lot and the standard looked as good as the restaurants. Food - there is a great variety of restaurants - Italian, French, Mexican, Asian, Mediterranean and all are of excellent standard food wise and service wise. There is buffet option throughout the day. Particular thanks to Leia on the egg counter - she truly works hard and is very efficient and skilled at keeping on top of the orders flying at her. She is also pleasant and friendly. Waiters who served us at table in the buffet were Jesus - again efficient and quick to bring tea/coffee/juice etc. Fabeira serves freshly made pancakes with a smile. Mention to Miguel (tamarind) and David (capers) who were stand out waiters and spoke excellent English and looked after us very well. The Asian restaurant Spice offers a wide variety of dishes including sushi - but also tepenyaki - the chefs are very entertaining and it is great theatre to watch the food being cooked in front of you. Plenty of water sports and theatre entertainment available but we did not try these. Evening entertainment in the bar was good - mainly 2 singers each evening. We enjoyed the fire dancing evening in the garden for which the extra charge is just a bottle of wine. All wines for this event were very expensive however and we had a bottle of champagne which we felt was better value than the wine price. Well worth the price for a good show with excellent seats and a lovely dining experience. You can, however, enjoy the show from the bar area for free if you wish. Drinks were generously provided. The only lagers served were corona or Modella and the spirits felt a little watered down. The wine in the restaurants was however very good as was the “champagne” (which I think was good quality Cava). Bottled water (ice cold) is in constant supply. The garden areas are constantly being maintained and truly are beautiful. Thank you to all the staff at New Jade for making our family holiday a fantastic experience!

The Hammock Bar staff (specifically Herve, Shaday, Yuri and Carolina) were AMAZING. They go above and beyond as far as service and being so friendly and kind. Yuri even had a torch lighter for guests that had bought cigars so the wind didn’t affect them lighting them. We went to the Hanmock bar almost every night just to see them! Misael and Michel took care of us at the main pool every day and were quick and smiling the entire time even in the heat! They even remembered our friend’s birthday and had fun making jokes with us! The staff at Jade was the friendliest at any resort we’ve been to. In addition, we enjoyed the free 24-hour room service and free mini-bar that is re-stocked everyday and abundance of restaurant options. The Japanese/hibachi restaurant was our favorite. It was the best hibachi show I have ever seen.

Great room with both pool & sea view. Staff work hard and are so pleasant. especially Jesus and Edgar in the Carnival. Food was very good plenty of variety and of very good quality. as were the drinks. They have made a few more changes, all for the better of course. e.g. we actually got to eat in the CIN CIN Restaurant this time loved the way you can now eat outside with the younger ones. I must say it was absolutely beautiful. Entertainment team has changed. --e.g they seemed to be enjoying themselves ok, but they didnt have the bond with the holidaymakers previous teams had. But on the whole a very good holiday and hope to return again.

Poor to Average at best. Really need a new pool!

This was our 15th trip to a Riviera Maya All-Inclusive. We travel to Mexico quite a bit given its convenience from where we live in Texas. Our experience with Now Jade was very average. We have had many better experiences at other resorts, and a couple worse experiences. This resort falls squarely in the bottom 1/3. Here are the pros and cons of the resort: Pros first: - Waiting for restaurants was never an issue. We only had one wait that was about 30 minutes out of the 7 nights we were there. Great considering our party was 6 people. - Food, while definitely not amazing, was better than most resorts. There are really no great "foodie" experiences at these resorts. - Pool and Beach waiter service was quite good - Preferred club was nice option to have. We purchased this at the resort, and included was a massage, fish treatment and hydrotherapy for both me and my wife. Well worth it with the preferred benefits as well. - Spa was very nice, and we were treated really great. - Almost all of the employees were great. - CoCo cafe was really great for ice cream, coffee, and pastries - Beach is actually pretty good (when the sargassum isn't present) - Rooms are fairly large. We had a normal "garden view" room and they were quite big. - Our 11 year old daughter really enjoyed the Explorer's Club, and even made a friend there to pal around with for the last couple days. Cons: - Pool. This is a really, really big issue, and is the main reason I have to rate this resort low. Maintenance is very poor on the pool. There are probably 15-20% of the mosaic tiles that have fallen off the bottom and side of the pool. Many are floating around at the bottom of the pool. My daughter found at least 20-30 tiles on the bottom with her goggles in about 10 minutes. I am not sure why the chose mosaic tile, but it needs to be addressed soon. The pool is also very disjunct. There are 4 areas to swim in the main pool, and one kiddie pool nearby. The pool is split with 2 sections away from the ocean and 2 closer to the ocean with a large "dance time area" splitting up each area. So if you are in the section nearest the ocean, you can not swim to the swim-up bar. You have to leave the pool and walk over and get into the upper two pools to get a drink. This area needs at least 1 more swim up bar. Honestly, they probably need to completely blow up the area and build a complete new pool at some point. - The pool area is too crowded. The walkways are too narrow, the size of the pools are too small, and there are no quieter areas to take respite from the louder sections. I understand people want to have a fun time partying. I like to at times, too. But, people with children also want a moment to relax in peace. And, the adult pool isn't much more relaxing. Don't be fooled by those pictures of the pool mostly empty, LOL! - Reserving beach chairs at dawn! There are not enough chairs at the pool, so everyone is up early reserving pool chairs with towels. They then sit unused for most of the day with towels draped over them "reserving" them. I met a gentleman that told me he had to break up a fight between two women over a beach chair at 7:00 in the morning. He also witnessed a line for the towels at 6:30am so people could be first to reserve the chairs. No one wants to do this sort of thing when you are on vacation! They have signs that say you cannot reserve chairs before 10:30am, however, every chair at the pool is taken by 8:30am everyday. For me, luxury is walking down from my room, and having a selection of chairs to choose from- AT ANY HOUR OF THE DAY! Now Jade, you need to fix your issues with this. You claim to be a 4-5 star property, but this was on par with a crappy 2-3 star Mexico resort. Awful. -Overcrowded. Resort was about 95% full while we were there. Felt 120% full. This can't happen. Even when a resort is full, it needs to feel like it is 50% full. The surface area of this resort is too small to accommodate this many people. Felt again, like a step below what I expect from AMResorts. -AMResort timeshare crap. We knew better than to accept the invitation to the "presentation". We didn't even let them waste 3 minutes with us. If you are asked to do this- DON'T! You will waste your vacation time (which is priceless), and potentially throw a lot of your hard-earned money away. This is one of the biggest reasons I will probably not return to an AMResort again. We were married at Dreams Tulum, and spent our honeymoon at Secrets Maroma Beach. But, this is really off-putting for us. It's too bad as the product is generally very nice. - wait service at the buffet is terrible, especially for breakfast. I had to beg for coffee and orange juice. We finally gave up on the buffet and had our breakfasts at Mercure (preferred club only). The service there was outstanding. -Would like to see an indoors restaurant for Lunch. Castaways is nice, but it is too hot to sit outside in the middle of the summer. - Beach chairs to the north of the main pool are all on a slant, so you lie down, and immediately start sliding down off of the chair. Very uncomfortable, and again- NOT RELAXING. We saw a gentleman that propped his chair up on another one because he was so sick of sliding off the chair. This is a simple attention to detail issue that is not being addressed at the resort. -Housekeeping. This was a disappointment. It was very inconsistent. Some days they came, others they didn't. So, we started calling for both morning and turndown service. Once I started calling, the would come consistently, but again, this should be done automatically everyday. Overall, a nice resort. But, we would not return- everyone is looking for a certain experience- and we were looking for something just a bit nicer.
