went for 10 days, winter sun, nice hotel clean rooms, the bathroom could do with a revamp, but was cleaned daily fresh towels and toiletires, quick check in and very polite, dining room is well organised, brekkie and dinner, dress code was not formal. good because it was very humid at nights, food is very vast, selection was good, never had a bad meal. pool staff are very good, and you never wait to long for a drink, animation teram were great, water polo dancing games, ping pong water polo, aerobics at 12, every day, went 2 the beach which is 15.mins walk from the hotel, was very crowed so did not stay 2 long, poolside was nicer. all in all would recommend this hotel very friendly, never had a single problem would recommend 2 my friends.. thanks bahia principle 4 making our vacation so special, mochas graciasxxxx
Mediocre at best; Would not go back here!!
I was recommended this place by a travel agent who spoke very highly of this hotel and thus I had very high expectations. When I arrived however, I quickly realized that it's not the greatest place. My family and friend had reached our destination at around 5pm on a Tuesday in hopes that our rooms would already be prepared but unfortunately we were sadly mistaken. We had to wait about 40 minutes for one of the rooms to be ready (my friend had her own) to be settled in. After about 5 minutes of being in our hotel room the AC and all the electricity stopped working because the key cards were no good. This happened a few times during our stay which was very annoying and obviously inconvenient because one of us would always have to run to the main lobby which is 7-10 min away on foot to get a new card. Furthermore, I was told that if I was to pay extra I would get a family room but it turned out that it was exactly like my friend's. I also requested a wheelchair accessible room prior to my stay because I use a wheelchair but was informed by the hotel staff that they never received the email that I needed accommodations even though it was clearly written on the note section on our itinerary. I had a very difficult time taking a shower because the hotel is not at all equipped to accommodate people with disabilities whats so ever!
Next came the food and service which was mediocre at best. Although there was a lot of options the food lacked variety, was very bland and often lukewarm. The drinks were not good and definitely lacked quality. To top it all off the service was horrible. We often had to wait 15-20 minutes for a waiter to stop at our table or for a bartender to bring us our drinks. There were even times where we would get the drinks ourselves because we got tired of waiting. Another thing that bothered us was that the beach was 20 minutes from the hotel by foot which was not at all what I bargained for. Since the property is very big and is shared with 2 or more other hotels everything is a ways walk and can be inconvenient. The only thing I definitely did enjoy about the hotel was its specious pool that was roomy and relaxing to be in. Overall, this was definitely not the best all- inclusive I've ever stayed in and I would not go back to this particular resort.
Good vacation, just not as nice as the rest of the Bahia Principe in Punta Cana.
I stayed at Bahia Principe in Punta Cana before and this was my first time in Turquesa. This place is not bad at all and you will be happy, but it is just not as nice as the rest of the resort. The rooms and bathrooms really starting to show their age. The food is good, but seems to be less variety as the rest of the resort. the grounds are nice and well maintained. The pool is good too.

Returning to a perfect family vacation
Grand Bahia Principe Turquesa is the perfect resort for a family vacation. We went to this resort for our spring break in 2016, 2017, and are planning on returning again in 2019 for our spring break vacation. Yes the resort is large but at the same time it’s not hard to get around since there are trolleys. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes for one.
Room: The rooms were large, clean, and had a lovely balcony facing the gardens.
Pools: The pool was huge with lots of lounge chairs around the pool. We never had a problem finding a lounge chair. We found the pool next to the beach was busier than at the Turquesa.
Food: The food was AMAZING! The Las Dalias main restaurant had a great selection of food for breakfast, lunch, and supper. Every night there was a different themed buffet. For our A La Carte reservations we ate at The OLAS BBQ buffet, and the Maiko Japanese restaurant (the best!). This restaurant is where we watched the chef cook our meals in front of us. (This restaurant was our absolute favourite!)
Beach: The beach was fabulous. We normally went to the beach in the morning, as it wasn’t as busy as in the afternoon. The water was amazing and when we were there the seaweed wasn’t a problem.
The pool at the Turqusa was normally quieter then the others on the resort. Bring lots of sun screen, even if you don’t normally burn you will there and a bottle of sun screen cost $20 on resort.
Not sure why people have negative reviews of this resort as we never had any issues. We look forward to returning for another great vacation in March of 2019.
