Nov. 2018 4 nts Ladies only trip
I was very impressed with the property overall. Beach/Pools/restaurants/Spa/Service was excellent. I was rather disappointed with the rooms. They are badly in need of updating, especially the bathrooms and lighting. My friends room had issues with the toilet which were not addressed until the day before we left. More electrical outlets are needed and the tile job in the shower was atrocious! I am a travel agent so I look carefully at the Apple ratings. Once the rooms are refurbished i will once again sell Dreams Palm Beach with confidence. Everything but the rooms supports a 6 Golden Apple rating. The staff was amazing from the gardeners to check in to the restaurants.
Had a good time at Dreams Palm Beach, but would probably go a little to the north next trip.
"Good" for the price
My fiance and I had been to Secrets in Cancun last year and since Dreams is a sister resort we expected a lot of similarities, however that was not so much the case. The staff members were lovely, attentive, and the food quality actually exceeded our expectations, it was incredible. However, the beaches were riddled with seaweed to the point where you could not swim in the ocean and the crew who was clearing it never finished until after the sunny hours. Entertainment pool-side was very minimal. We were looking forward to more dancing, contests, performances etc. We had also hoped for a hot tub in addition to the pools, there was only one and it was in the preferred member area so we could not use it.
For the price we paid I supposed we got what was expected, but nothing more.
Nice family Resort
We spent a week at this resort and enjoyed ourselves very much. The room was clean and had nothing to complain about. The pool was fun and nice with great drink service and some fun activities going on. Dinners were mostly good and we especially liked the Italian for dinner.
Stayed at Now Larimar in March and felt that hotel had better food and services.We thought Drems was going to be a step up but we did not feel it was better in fact we liked the food, service, and hotel layout better at Now larimar.
The best !
We have been back at this hotel 7 times what does that tell you. The service is excellent. The rooms are nice and clean and if you like quiet try the preferred option. It is not as big as some of the other resorts but great for us in our 70's will be back again i hope.
Too many sales people
One of the things that we really disliked were the amount of sales people. On the beach on in the hotel. It seemed like someone was wanting our money for something.
Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana tried to book a sales pitch for a membership less than an hour after arriving. On our honeymoon!!! After arriving to our Preferred Club Jacuzzi Honeymoon Suite we noticed some issues with the age of the room. The light in the shower ceiling was falling down. There was so much caulk holding the small tiles together in the shower and around the glass. The stainless steel faucet in the tub was old, stained and scratched up and the jets would only work on a speed i'd like to call Holy Cow! Turning them on sprayed water all over the place outside the tub. The power kept going out in our building (building 4) when we were trying to get ready for dinner. Any time I asked for the concierge or butler service for anything I was turned away. For example...getting some sunscreen from a store that closed early for inventory and didn't reopen until after our zipline excursion was scheduled to leave the next morning and charging it to our room. Really? What is your service for then? They couldn't even put our name on a list for one of their restaurants. What did we spend the extra money for??? Food was amazing at SeaSide Grill. Pretty good at the World Cafe (wonderful desserts!) The Italian restaurant we were not impressed. The Japanese grill would have been perfect if they wouldn't have waaayyyy overcooked the meats. The service their was great in every restaurant. Seaweed was so bad we couldn't get in the water and the smell was pretty unpleasant. It's so hard to pick a place to go because there are just so many places and so many resorts. You live and you learn. We won't be back. If you do go to a resort in Punta Cana I highly recommend doing two excursions. The zipline down the mountain (amazing) and the Dolphin Discovery swimming with the dolphins (best experience) Hope this help someone.
The resort was absolutely beautiful, and the staff were so very kind and thoughtful. The food was decent, and the beach was amazing. Our only 2 complaints was the sea weed which was horrible and began to stink. The water was brown, and even though we do understand that the staff were not at fault we feel Apple should have notified us! We also had a problem with only Spanish speaking staff who could not understand us and so just had to deal with being misunderstood
My Email to Dreams Palm Beach
We are writing to you to make you aware of some instances we have experienced at your property. We had booked your resort through Apple Vacations. We traveled with ease and when we arrived your property looked beautiful. However, our negative experience happened quickly as we tried checking in. We want to share some of our experiences with you.
> Check in... We waited over two hours for lunch at seaside grille while they were getting our room ready. There were about 15 total patrons in the restaurant.
> Once we got in the room, the remote didnt work, clock didnt work, phone didnt work and we asked 4 times to get a new phone (still doesnt work after 5 nights), toilet doesnt flush and jacuzzi tub plug is broken
> Day 2: Willy with the concierge approached us. We thought he was there to help us but in the end he just wanted us to help him by sitting through a 90 minute presentation so he could make money. We spent about 30 minutes trying to help him but couldnt take being sold Into something after the 3rd person tried to close us. When we left the meeting, Willy approached us again wondering why we left and we were honest with him. We are on our honeymoon, we dont want to sit in a 90 minute meeting trying to be sold something. No one seamed to understand that we were there to try to relax and enjoy time together and in love. Everyone was so pushy and Willy only offered us the Honeymoon package if we sat through the 90 minute sale! The next day he approached us again and wanted us to go to another meeting for 20 minutes so he would get another promotion and for us to get a coupon. Not only did Willy try to up sell us but we were approached in the restaurants with food, wine and especially the lobster. We were constantly approached on the beach & pool side with parasailing, banana ride and lobsters. We can not believe how pushy and aggressive they were with sales. Not a relaxing environment at all! Very disappointed and will have to take a real honeymoon.
> Our house keeping... we made multiple phone calls to get the room cleaned and to obtain new towels. They would take our dirty towels in the morning but wouldnt give us new towels until 7 or 8 at night. Many times we were trying to get ready for dinner and house keeping would want to clean the room (between 5-6pm). We felt like we had to beg to have the room straightened up and to receive more than 1 towel.
> Service... We noticed there are many staff members, however, they are not accommodating what so ever. At every bar, There would be 4-5 guys at the bar and we would have to interrupt there chit chat to ask for help. They do not offer anything without the customer having to force them to stop talking amongst themselves ....many of them are very short and rude with their responses. If they didnt have water, I got several no. No other additional help or direction. We have been to many other all inclusive resorts, but never experienced suck a lack of accommodation.
> Sailing....To take out the sail NO ONE helped us! There were 8 staff and only 1 helping us so my husband had to help him get the boat in the water. The other 7 guys stood there watching us drag the boat in. Once we were in, It Took us 25 minutes to get past the seaweed (staff could see our trouble) and no one helped us. We were paddling with our hands to get through it and pulling ourselves with the floats. They SeaPro guys had the small boat there, but they were more interested is chatting. again, there were 8 staff members sitting around not helping. Once we cleared the seaweed, we sailed for less than 5 minutes and the boat with staff that should have offered help to start came out yelling at us to turn around and come Back in (time is up!). Even though they clearly saw us struggling to get our passed the seaweed, with no help.
> We attempted to try their services again the next day but with a kayak. My husband and I had to get all the gear while the staff literally sat there and watched us get in the water. The staff is clearly very reactive and not proactive. This is supposedly a 5 star resort with wonderful ratings but in our experience here we have been extremely disappointed.
> Honeymoon... We were told we would have special treatment, flowers, champagne, discounts on spa treatments, etc. Willy told us, if we take care of him he will take care of us. We shouldnt have to take care of someone to get treated nicely on our honeymoon. Willy put a banner on our door and a Milky Way... and thats it. (Must be bc we didnt sit through the 90 min presentation)? Was not romantic. Again, we felt like we had to beg to be acknowledged. It was very sad.
> Over all we are very disappointed with our stay in room 5109. We tipped over $350 over the course of 6 days, but we felt honored to just get a glad of water. The Spa was very nice and the service was great there. We hope you make changes to your staff for future guests and their experiences with you. As we mentioned before, we feel as if we wasted our time off of work to celebrate our love at this resort. We are very easy going people and have never complained to management until now (41 years).
Use Liberty Travel, Not Apple Vacations - Never Again!!
For the past 7 years, my husband and I have done an annual vacation. We've always done business with Liberty Travel, but a friend of ours recommend Apple. After our experience with Apple, our flight, hotel, and overall vacation experience - NEVER AGAIN. As we began planning our trip, I consulted with several Apple representatives, all of whom recommended Punta Cana. After much consideration, our family booked an all-inclusive package to Dreams Palm Beach. After booking, heres a brief synapsis my familys disappointing experiences with our Apple Vacation:
3 formal requests via phone were required in order to receive our travel documents.
Our agent recommended Dreams Palm Beach because the water is beautiful and untouched by the recent hurricanes (which is also noted on Apples introductory recording); however, the water is disgusting! Its a dark, murky brown and filled with seaweed. After speaking to the Apple representative at Dreams, she informed our family the conditions of the beach is a direct result of the hurricanes and if we wanted a beautiful beach we should travel to La Romana.
After our disappointment with the beach and the recommendation of La Romana, I inquired about changing our hotel to Dreams La Romana. It took 2 days for the representative to consider this request. Upon consideration and after the Dreams Apple Agent consulted with a Dreams Agent within the states, I was informed we could make the transition; however, wed be charged a $789 penalty, not including taxes. Additionally, wed be responsible for our own transfers between resorts and to the airport for departure.
Our room smelled like mold and mildew. Upon speaking with the Dreams Apple Agent, we were told all rooms smell the same on the resort its a result of having an older property!
The on-sight Apple Agent assisted in scheduling 2 excursions. The anticipated duration for one was 3 hours (actual excursion time was 5.5 hours) and the anticipated duration for another was 4 hours (actual excursion time was 7 hours). The extended times hindered ability to enjoy the pool, resort activities, and plan accordingly for our children (naps, meals, etc.).
We never received any information regarding our transfer home. Wait we did 5 (Yes, 5!) minutes before our anticipated departure time.
Long story short, NEVER AGAIN. If you are looking for an honest and positive experience, utilize a different agency and resort.

Went down with my wife and kids for my sisters wedding. Had a blast and all the people that work there are amazing. My favorite people can be found in and around the pool bar. Johan "The King" Lebron is as entertaining and enthusiastic as they come. Also is partner in crime Fredrick is amazing.
Be sure to find these guys and treat them good and they will return the favor and then some.

Just visited Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana
Great week with the fam. Weather was perfect, staff was amazing, especially Lennis, Franklin, Yohan and Irwin. The staff really makes you feel special, they were âEXCELENTEâ ... Teen/Kids club is far disjointed and rather unused. Beach isnât very good, mostly due to seaweed. Those pics of turqouise water you see weâre not taken here, itâs about a 10 minute walk west of this property. Sand Fleas can be a pain so bring bug spray. The food is was good. Although the buffet isnât massive, there is lots to choose from. The a la carte were all very good. Daytime pool entertainment couldâve been a bit better with even just playing some music. Instead they did aqua arobics and turned off the music immediately there after. Zero entertainment on the beach. All and all it was a great trip, was it perfect, no, but what is? If youâre getting a good deal to stay here as I did, then youâre alright (I know a girlđ€«đ) but I feel like if i had paid top dollar to stay here it wouldâve left a sour taste in my mouth... 3.9/5 stars
6th time was again a charm
Excellent as always. Wilson and Yonathan our room butlers were there always asking what they could do.

This is a lovely property. The food was very good. Service was excellent. The staff went out of their way to accommodate and help us in an unfortunate situation (not related to the venue). There is not one negative thing that i would have to say about our holiday other than we wish we could have stayed longer!
Great couples trip!
This was our second time at Dreams Palm Beach. Although itâs not a huge resort, it does not disappoint. The staff are friendly, outgoing, and appear to love their jobs. We instantly remembered Emilio from our last stay. He is always saying âEXCELLENTEâ and âI love my jobâ. Heâs outstanding. Yohen, at the swim up bar kept our beverages flowing and always serviced them with a smile. Jorge was our beach man and like almost all the staff, did an excellent job.
The food was delicious at each of the restaurants. We enjoyed the preferred service so we could eat at the Sea Side grill for breakfast and lunch too.
4 of the 5 restaurants require long pants for the men, so make sure you pack appropriately. 3 of the 5 men we came with only brought dress shorts so they had to purchase pants / wear the jeans they arrived in.
If you are looking for a resort that is clean, pretty, has a great beach, good food, top shelf alcohol, and has friendly staff then Dreams Palm Beach is for you.
