The Meteora Grand Hotel is very new, stylish and beautifully appointed, helpful staff, spacious and probably the best accommodation in Kalambaka for visiting spectacular and stunning Meteora. A little bit out of town but well worth it!

Amazing place

We just left. The service and drinks and food were always amazing. Our butlers Jose and Rafael and Ishmael provide excellent service 24 hours a day. We will be back. The beach was well maintained and we loved the pool and swim up bar.

Loved Iberostar Grand Bavaro!

My wife and I just got back from our 25th Anniversary trip. We'd never been to Punta Cana, to an Iberostar property or to a 100%, all-inclusive before. We were VERY satisfied with our experience. We splurged to get the third floor, oceanfront room which seemed completely worth it if you want a fantastic view, a bit more quiet and some romance. The resort is pretty big, but our room placement felt a bit more secluded with all of the activities available when wanted. The food was quite good which means that it ranged from good (buffets) to excellent (specialty restaurants that are included in the deal). The beef tenderloin and duck dishes I had would have been acceptable in any of the finest restaurants I've ever been to. The facilities and the grounds look every bit as good as they're made to on their website. I snorkeled just 25 yards off of the beach and was swimming with yellowtail snapper, blue tang and others. The beach was kept clean and free of sea grass. While all of that was great, what really clinched the entire experience was the staff. Everyone was very nice, engaging and accommodating. Our butler, "Leo", always checked to see if we needed anything and made sure our few requests were met. The concierge, Isbak, would seek us out where ever we were for a friendly hello and to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. The overall experience in relation to the reasonable cost made this a very worthwhile and commendable trip. One note: the weather report right before we left stated that there was an 80% chance of rain on 3 days. It never rained on the coast, and the partial clouds actually helped to tone down the sun.

Honeymoon for the ages!

My wife and I stayed at the Iberostar Grand Bavaro in May 2017 for our Honeymoon. It was, quite frankly, phenomenal. We were greeted at the main lobby during check-in with a glass of champagne and a pina colada. The staff surprisingly knew good English, enough to to converse, answer our questions, etc. We stayed in a Oceanview suite which was great. Bed was comfy, bathroom was great, and we had a patio. This resort has a vast array of pools and a swim-up bar. The swim up bar was key, since it is very warm there. You won't get basic drinks at any of the 4 bars, they have a cocktail list, and will make anything you ask them to. The pool area has little cabanas with beds which my wife and I enjoyed after meals. The beach was great as well, they have TONS of covered cabanas and chairs so you don't have to lay in the sun if you dont want to. There are tons of activities, excursions, etc to book if you wish. My wife and I spent the majority of our time at the resort because we just wanted some R&R. Also, there are resort activities like beach volleyball, salsa dancing, etc. The staff will participate in these activities with you and they are very fun-loving. Now onto the restaurants. First off is the main buffet restaurant. The food was good. However, I recommend that you get something fresh made at one of the stations. For breakfast, they have an egg/omelet station. For lunch and dinner, they have a meat station and a seafood station. There is also a buffet open near the pool area that is open from 12 PM - 5 PM. The food there is pretty basic, just something to hold you over while you are near the beach/pool. The cool thing about it is that you can grab a plate and bring it to your beach/pool chair if you wish and munch by the beach. Now onto the main restaurants. There are FIVE a la carte Restaurants in this resorts. My wife and I made reservations for 4 out of the 5 during our 5 night stay. Casa de la Playa is a Mediterranean-themed restaurant. This place was just OK. I was able to get a Kobe beef steak that was great. But it was nothing to cry home about. There is a Japanese restaurant as well similar to Benihana. It was just OK. The food was fine but it wasn't as good as the others. The Italian restaurant was by far our favorite. Their menu was the largest of the 5. My wife is a vegetarian so they had plenty of options. Calamari and Caprese salad were the best apps. Followed by risottos, etc for entrees. This restaurant was so good we went back for a 2nd night. The Surt and Turf restaurant also deserves props. I got a 16 oz Ribeye steak cooked to perfection. The fifth restaurant is a French-themed gourmet restaurant. My wife and I were not able to get reservations for this restaurant because it was apparently very popular. Quick Tidbits of advice: Tip your bartenders, we found some of the liquor may not have been name brand, but once we tipped them, we started getting a little better drinks mixed up for us. Try and speak a little Spanish, they will appreciate your effort and help you learn a little bit. Also tip your housekeepers, restaurant servers, etc. They really appreciate it and will make an extra effort to help you out in the future. For example, I had a little problem with our toilet (stopped flushing), they were in my room to fix it in 15 minutes (about how long it probably took them to walk to the room lol). The best part about the resort was the service. The staff there are always in a good mood and do their best to make sure you are having a good time. This resort was nearly double the price of other resorts we looked at, and it was worth the money. I've stayed at another resort in Punta Cana about 12 years ago, the Grand puts that place to shame even though it was a good experience as well.

Another year, another amazing Iberostar vacation.

This is the fifth consecutive year that my grown daughter and I have vacationed at an Iberostar grand resort. It is the second consecutive year we stayed here. It was even more amazing than the prior year if that's possible. As always we were treated like royalty. We had a wonderful butler, Luis who did an awesome job. Jose our butler from last year was as amazing as always and is more like family than part of the wait staff. Both him and Luis truly accommodated all of our wishes and needs. Gladys the hostess at breakfast and the Italian restaurant was the sweetest and kindest person we've ever met. Her and my daughter were fast found friends and were both sad when it was time to leave. The activity personnel, Strawberry and Yeffery and others were a pleasure. Everyone went above and beyond in all aspects of making our vacation a memorable one yet again. I'm smiling just remembering all the good staff and people. Can't forget to mention Johnnie and how he makes me feel so special. Can't wait for next year's vacation. Thank you for never disappointing Teresa & Dawn.
