From the airport check in process, hotel, meals, bars, pools, butlers, maids, ets... our expectations were exceeded by far. The staff knew our names, knew our likes and tastes and were extremely pleasant at all times. Would recommend The Grand to anyone and I can't wait to go back. Best trip ever..

So much about this vacation was terrific, but it was marred by the never ending tipping of the staff. They looked for ways to do something for us, even if we refused, and expected a gratuity. We had to hit the ATM three times during our stay.

Excellent hotel. Absolutely outstanding rooms, grounds, facilities, pools,, restaurants, entertainment, service, etc. Outstanding. Beach is a bit rocky so wear aquasocks if you venture out into the sea.

I always have a good time when going to this resort but on this visit my spouse got sick from the food and was brought to the hospital costing us two days of our vacation and $2000.00 in hospital costs. When we told the manager they did not seem to care. Also, our butler would insist on calling us at 7:00 in the morning waking us up and then would get mad at us because we would tell them that we were still sleeping, we live in AZ which puts us two hours. Shine, 5:00 a.m. Our time. Overall this experience was less than desirable to the point that I may never go back and that makes me sad.

Let me start by saying the people are wonderful! Hotel was beautiful at our first stay 5-6 years ago but is showing wear and tear now. They are updating however slowly. The food is just OK. Lots of options, but experienced lots of undercooked items, especially the chicken. Need to modernize their beach cleanup equipment. Arrived to seaweed all along the ocean front, like 2 feet high, and it was not cleaned up until the 5th day of our 7 day stay. Too much manual work when a simple beach groomer would take care of it faster and better. Also experienced a theft from my room. Was compensated for the stolen item, however found out that many people enter your room during the day aside from the maid and mini-bar person. A bit disturbing and no privacy. Upon arrival at the airport, no one could direct us to the correct bus. We were sent to 4 different areas to board the bus to the resort and ended up back at the original bus 30 minutes later. Too much confusion at the airport.

Somehow this place has improved in 2018. How is that even possible? The food was noticeably better. Breakfast and eggs so fluffy and amazing. American Breakfast delicious. Olivia at the omelette station was so funny and nice - I couldn't believe she remembered me from years past and asked about my work. Delfina waited on me every morning, ready with my order without even needing to ask. What a great server! There is now a daily lunch grille outside by the pool, so you can get fillet steaks or burgers or chicken clubs without having to step inside all day. The room service menu is 10x bigger, which is great for balcony eaters like me. They have a full dinner menu now! Cynthia from the room service line was hilarious and great to order from. I also did the Italian for dinner (my favorite -- ask to eat outside for a beautiful night). After the great good, Octavio the chef came out and introduced himself. So friendly and kind - what an awesome guy. The room was ridiculous. I saw sunrise and sunset over the ocean from my balcony bubble bath. See photos for both. The bar guys are fantastic as always, and remembered my name (and profession). I wish I could have a memory like that. Mario, Humberto, Alberto, and Eli. I also met Gabriel who was awesome. He was so funny and made the vibe of the pool super cheerful - he brought me my regular drink before I could even ask. Crazy good service! I also love seeing the guys joke around and having fun with each other. The butler Gonzalez remembered me as well, and welcomed me "home" with so many nice gifts and surprises. Maili the concierge continues to be one of my favorite people at the hotel - it means so much to be welcomed back with a big happy hug. Alan at the front desk was super helpful and got me set up for tennis! I had so much fun playing there. If you're a tennis player, bring your own racquet and go to the free 8am lessons (advanced) or 9am (intermediate) to meet other players that you can hit with for the rest of your trip. Some of the courts are in awful condition. The material is very strange (no bounce). Clay or hard court would be a nice improvement. My vacation started and ended with Eli from bellhop service who is such a good, hard-working guy. This has to be the safest place on the planet. I left my phone and laptop and wallet out in my room in plain sight, all day every day, with maids and butlers coming in. Someone found my $300 Bose headphones that I left outside, and returned them to me. Yes, I'm an idiot, but these people are nice to idiots. Every drink is top shelf, opened in front of everyone. Tastes exactly the same as in the USA. They also seem to have increased security and lighting. There is maintenance and upkeep every morning. I can't believe how pristine the grounds still look. Just as flawless as my first visit 5 years ago. I also love that they are eco-friendly, ditching straws, and refusing to alter their beaches like some other chains do. The weather was also 84 and sunny every day in February, which doesn't hurt :) So what the heck, Iberostar Grand? How did you manage to make it even better? Your improvements make me feel very loyal, and I will continue coming back forever. I've recommended more friends than I can count to this resort. Please keep up the fantastic work. See you next year!

Jet lag has now gone so ready to write review! Didn't think our second trip would match up to our first but is was actually better. Couldn't wait to see the beautiful lobby again and walk along the shining marbled floor to our room . It really felt like coming home. Staff and facilities are excellent, special mention to Octavio ( Mr. Coconut Ice Cream ! ) Olivia and trainee chef Alex with the beautiful smile. Miriam,. Paolo and Jordan also deserve special mention as does the charismatic Gregorio. Stephanie, our concierge was so helpful but our butler was invisible for the whole two weeks. Only one waiter was rude and ruined our visit to the Gourmet restaurant but the Hotel were quick to rectify the problem with champagne and strawberries ! Staff should be aware that the all inclusive wines are available to all guests and it is very embarrassing to be asked in the middle of the restaurant if you are members and your status checked before the wine could be opened. Daniel in the lobby bar was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble, even if you wanted three cherries in your champagne! . The evening entertainment was wonderful and very professional. Carlos is an amazing talent, so interesting to talk to and such a gentleman. The Zumba classes held on the beach every afternoon at 3.30 are great fun and Adriana and Luis are brilliant instructors- work off some calories ! I do think the problem of reserving sunbeds with towels should be addressed as some of the corporate guests were up early reserving up to a dozen beds at a time and not returning until mid morning ! I also have an issue with pool staff reserving beds for guests, not really what you would expect to see at 7am every morning. We have already booked our 3rd visit - only 344 days to go. Thank You for a wonderful holiday, we haven't stopped talking about it since we got back to cold, rainy England !

Great weather, great food, great drinks, great pool. If you can, go! The staff treats you like royalty. My only complaint, and this is being sarcastic, was we were so relaxed between sun and drinks that we couldn't stay awake during the massages. Fell asleep halfway through. On our way again April 1st!

This resort is spectacular! .The nicest resort we have stayed at. We had ocean front rooms rooms and they are beautiful. We just spent 10 days for a group of 4 and we all really enjoyed ourselves The staff are so friendly and helpful, from the Animation staff, Laura, Karen ,Andy, Edar,Leslie and Ivan. The servers ...Asael, Leticia, Javier,Lucero, Abel and Dofino, and Adriana, Santiago , Octaveo. Chef Olivia checked with us all the time about the quality of the meals...and they were wonderful. The only problem we encountered was with the butlers.They were rarely around, it is the concierges who do all the work. We had one special request of the butlers, which we asked for the day we arrived and needed 5 days later. We had to keep following up with staff to see if they could accommodate us and although it did eventually get done it was all last minute and completely unorganized. Very disappointing. I'm not sure why the hotel puts such emphasis on the butler experience, as it was completely unsatisfactory.

Our 10th time, and still planning to come back ASAP!

We just finished our 10 day paradise vacation in The Grand. This one has been our 10th time in this spectacular place. No words can describe the magnificence of Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso. Special thanks to incredibly professional and wonderful PR Manager Abril, for taking care of every detail to make our stay enjoyable. Some people we have been meeting since the beginning of The Grand (2007). They always recognise us and welcome as a family members. Thank you Victor, thank you Mirna. See you next year!
