Upgrades have been instituted, did not disappoint. Staff seemed very happy we had returned & were very accommodating. If you enjoy nature above & under the sea, this is the place to be!

Apple is the only way to travel

This was the second time in less than a year I have traveled with Apple to Sirensis. Both times I have been upgraded in resort since I travel with Apple, which included upgraded to Superior Junior Suite, fruit basket with tequlia at arrival and champagne prior to leaving. Already recommend to co-worker and veterinarian.

Very noisy
Apr 15 2018
The hallway outside our unit echoed terribly, combined with a thin door made for several sleepless nights. We were woken up constantly by loud guests and golf carts late into the night. The resort would do well to modify it's buffet to focus more on quality and much less on quantity. The beachside dinner was a farce, extra cost to eat the same food available at the buffet. The shuttle service was a mystery, there did not appear to be any schedule despite what we were told. We would have enjoyed playing a game or two of pool in the sports bar, if it weren't for the fact that the tables were constantly tied up by unsupervised children even at 11 o'clock or midnight. Bars should be off limits to children. The spa was a very nice experience, we enjoyed that very much.

We choose Apple Vacations every year because of their repeatable process. Easy to make reservations and transfers. Special dinner on the beach for Apple customers was a treat.

Beautiful park-like setting
Apr 11 2018
We loved the lush landscape at Grand Sirenis and all the staff was friendly and helpful. Some rooms may need updated furniture, though. For instance, our room had a very dated and worn orange sofa and the elevator halls/alcoves were dimly lit and somewhat sketchy feeling. The sparse entertainment selections was the most disappointing. A "big" show was held each evening at 9:00 p.m., but if it was something that didn't interest us, there were no other options. We are accustomed to having multiple entertainment options and venues. And, we shouldn't have to wait until 9:00 pm to see a live show. Why aren't there piano bars beginning as early as 7:00 pm? Not everyone on vacation likes to stay up late. Some of us are early risers. This was our biggest complaint. We enjoyed the beach (despite it being "seaweed season." And we also enjoyed the pools by day, but definitely felt bored in the evenings. Finally, although there were tons of food choices, much of it was bland--didn't have enough spices or flavoring. Additionally, items such as marinara and cheese sauces seemed watered down to make them stretch, or the pasta barely had any sauce on it. Furthermore, often the food was only moderately hot in the large buffet room, especially.

All around a very enjoyable vacation. The facility is very nice. The only real issue, and a minor one is the food could be warmer at times but considering your feeding over a thousand people, not too bad. The pool bartenders. Cali, Aniceto, Malady, and I can't remember all the names were fantastic. I would definitely consider my return for my next trip

Review of resort

Sand on floor all week. Wash cloth left in shower and left until I removed it. Food at buffet was cold. Steak specialty steak was 3/4 fat. Service was excellent. Japanese restaurant excellent. Beach Rocky. Main pool had few activities and there were some areas not working and chummy. Coffee shop very slow but good. Ice cream shop good. Evening entertainment lacked variety compared to other mexican resorts. I would definitely not give a golden apple.

This was our second time at Sirenis. It had been 11 years since we last visited. Overall the resort has not been maintained. Many tiles missing from the pools, lots of areas needed paint and cleaning. Food quality at buffets was really poor. Low food quality! Restaurants were great. I had prearranged transfer from my first resort, Royalton, to Sirenis. The reps from AMSTAR were terrible. My first attempt the guy was rude and arrogant, flat out told me to take a taxi. Next day I went back to the AMSTAR desk to speak to another rep. Although much nicer, after 30 minutes of calling around he said he could take me to the airport, wait, then another AMSTAR van would pick me up or take a taxi. He did have a record of the hotel transfer from Apple but could not figure out how to pull it off. He told me to take a taxi and seek reimbursement. So, after an $85 Taxi ride I made it to Sirenis. Overall, Royalton was awesome and Sirenis was a disappointment. My Royalton booking number was 19249828

All I have to say is the food is shocking.. when the to the steak house my wife had the ribs, they came out as a huge fatty lump the you were unable to cut into and any meat was tough and chewy. I had a ribeye steak. Well it was the worst steak I have ever experienced, it didn’t taste like a steak and it was so greasy. We were advised by another holidaying couple not to have the ribeye but it is my favourite so I thought everyone has their own opinion. I should have listened it was totally shocking.. please be aware the food is mostly edible but certainly not 5*.....

Another fantastic stay

My husband and I have just arrived home after staying here for 11 nights. This was our second stay at this hotel and we would deffinatly return for a third! Upon arrival - check in was smooth and a lovely cold beer was offered. Much appreciated after a long travel time. After finding out 2 weeks before our trip that one of the main pools would be closed for the first few days we had asked to be located near the open pool and not on the ground floor. Both of these requests where met! We stayed in block 16, on the second floor. The maids did a great job each day. We booked four restaurants through the concerege. Brazilian, steak, Italian and Japanese. In my opinion the first three where a tad mediocre but the Japanese was outstanding! General buffet. Always plenty of choice, was nice to see different themed nights and even a cotton candy machine a couple of nights! Only issue with the main buffet was the lack of drinks service. Two occasions at breakfast we didn't get any water at all. A couple of times at luch/dinner We had to wait a really long time for water (as in over 15mins). I would completely understand if the restaurant was super busy but it wasn't the waiting staff could be seen standing around talking amongst themselves. We did give this feedback using the kiosks an assistant manager did call our room for further information regarding this. Unfortunately it didn't improve. But in the grand scheme of things this was just a minor inconvience. The hotel offer a number of activities, we went on the guided bike tour, archery and shooting. The guide for these (Juan) was great. The entertainment team did a great job every day by the pool and at the evening shows. There was a lovely waitress by the pool who was very attentive didn't catch her name. Despite the large pool being closed at the beginning of our stay we didn't notice. The staff worked hard and even got it open a day earlier than originally said. Plenty of sun loungers by the pool. One of our towels did get taken by another guest. But the front desk where understanding and solved this quickly. The hotel seems to have a lot more attention on the SPT guests this time (it wasn't so obvious when we stayed previously) it would be a great shame if they start to pay less attention to the regular guests. The new beach house area which is for members only has been built on what was the best part of the beach for snorkelling and it was a shame to see as the guests there didn't seem to have much interest in using that part of the beach for that. Unfortunately due to mother nature the rest of the beach had a lot of seaweed. The hotel had people trying to clear this each day. Highly recommend the spa as well. All of the staff from the pool boys who worked tirelessly keeping the pool clean to the security guards where so polite and friendly. A true credit to the hotel.

Why on earth has anyone got anything negative to say about this hotel?! YOURE ALL NUTTERS!! Me and my boyfriend are currently staying at this hotel to celebrate my 21st birthday (17th May- 31st May) and are having the best time! So far we have spent most of our time by pool 3 and at the swim up bar - Carlos and Jonathan are our favourite bartenders and have made each day more and more enjoyable! They are always happy to serve whatever it is you fancy and make you laugh instantly! We are currently making our way through the cocktail menu as there are at least 20 to choose from!! We have also enjoyed getting involved and watching the poolside entertainement each day as there is plenty of choice and always something new to try along with the classics! The food is exactly what you would expect from a buffet restaurant! We have eaten in the Steakhouse on my birthday which was great and very entertaining too! We are also booked in to the Japanese, Mexican, Italian and Brazilian restaurants. My boyfriend is EXTREMELY fussy with food but there is always something for him to eat no matter which restaurant you’re in The rooms are absolutely MASSIVE, we upgraded to a superior suite before we came which I would highly recommend... we are furthest W away from our favourite pool but are still waking distance from everything! I saw someone else’s comment about only getting lifts on the buggy’s if you’re their favourite guests but you really don’t need lifts anywhere because altough the resort is huge, you can walk to anything in 5 minutes! DONT BE SO LAZY!! There is plenty to do and the staff are super helpful if you’re not sure what excursions to do or what towns to visit! The beach is great but yes there is a lot of seaweed... the staff are doing everything they can to try stay on top of it but they aren’t miracle they have managed to clear one side of the beach and I know a lot of people have been swimming and snorkelling in the sea! Apparently the seaweed is constantly coming in due to an earthquake recently so there isn’t anything they can do about it! We are having a great time and it’s so relaxing here, especially the lazy river! I have heard great things about the spa too but haven’t managed to go their yet. The weather has been beautiful everyday, yes there has been some rain on several days but it last about 10 minutes and then clears, it also makes it less muggy which is gorgeous as it so hot all the time!! Don’t let the weather forecast put you off, even when it’s been cloudy I have still caught the sun You will have a great time here, don’t let th grumpy people put you off :) x

Excellent hotel. Couldn't fault it. Here on honeymoon and the staff have gone out of their way to make it extra special! The spa is to die for 😍 the pools are amazing.. 2 quieter pools, one quite rowdy (good if you like a drink and a party) we upgraded our room which was defiantly worth it. Food was good... enough choice for everyone and the entertainment was good enough too!

There are a lot of better choices available

It is normal for the resorts of this size to be glutenous and have massive amounts of alcohol and buffets. I will assume that you already know and understand that and will not expand upon it. Where this resort falls short is service. They are all about selling timeshare. If you’re not a buyer, you’re of no additional value. If there is a problem at the resort, they do not attempt to solve the problem since all problems are automatically solved by the guest leaving at some point. There was a guy that assaulted his wife while in a drunken stupor. He then engaged with another guest. I removed the other guest from the situation and we called hotel security. There was lots of blood and we advised them of the violent scene. They first said no, there is no problem. This was repeated 4 times. Finally, someone else got on the line and sent a very small and very scared woman to check it out. The police were eventually called and the husband and wife were taken away. The next day, the resort allowed them back. We later learned that he had caused serious damage in the past but was a timeshare owner. All attempts to speak with management were blown off. This is only one example from our 2 weeks there. We recommend that you find a different location. Mexico tourism is hurting and the service should be getting better.
