This was our 6th stay at this specific resort and as usual met our expectations. The resort has is/has renovated many of the suites. We already love this resort, but the renovations have definitely improved the value of this resort mainly providing the much overdue updating that was needed. The staff work very hard to ensure a wonderful stay. We were catered to as if we were royalty. Many people comment the resort only caters to the Members, however we are not members and they went above and beyond to treat us like royalty. We obviously love this resort. I hope that despite the renovations, the resort will continue to offer fair and reasonable pricing. The resort is awesome!!

We chose this hotel based on the snorkeling reviews as our number one priority and we were not disappointed. Food was ok, not fantastic. Room was one of the remodeled ones and was lovely. Maid service did not always come through and replenish water and such even though we left a tip every day, however when they did come through, they did a wonderful job. Our concierge desk staff was wonderful, very helpful and not pushy at all. Didn't get asked to go to a time share meeting once so that was a bonus. Did do a massage and that was wonderful, and the front desk was great, quick and helpful. Not the best inclusive we've stayed at in Mexico, but we still enjoyed ourselves immensely!

This trip was not our first trip with apple or to Rivera maya, but I would never recommend this resort to anyone. The grounds were very spread out, at certain points of the day the only food that was available was room service (like between 10-12 in the morning, etc) our bathtub overflowed through the walls and flooded our room and my husband fell on the marble flooring. The manager offered to upgrade one of our dinners and then charged us for it, we were sold on the dolphins are 359 for my family and they ended up charging us 425.00. They spoke very little English on this resort all of the tv channels were Spanish (but not at the other resorts we have visited) the entertainment was left to be desired. The entire hotel has slick floors so if it rains people are falling everywhere, surely not the place for the elderly. The pools were missing tiles, the ashtrays were always full. I would never go back to this resort or refer anyone to go there. Our apple staff at the airport and the hotel were wonderful, but that about the only positive thing I took home from this trip.

Overall the Grand Sirenis is great place to spend a much needed vacation. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Shout out to our concierge Angeles who help us planned our activities. The food they serve are good but the cocktails at the bar could be better. Maybe they can serve a better alcohol with it. ;) We did the bike tour to see the cenotes within the compound but be warn it will be workout to ride the bikes they have. I just wish they would provide a better set of bikes or at least maintain it (make sure the tires have air). They do try to sell you membership which on various occasion can be a little too much. Jaime Lopez though made that experience more enjoyable. We would definitely put this place as one of our go to place for future vacation.

The vacation was amazing! We were upgraded to a superior suite, the first day received a fruit basket with a bottle of tequila and the last day a bottle of champagne. The grounds were lovely with spider moneys in the trees, dolphin pool, lazy river, 3 pools, diving shop, spa, and great restaurants and bars. The staff was beyond friendly, courteous. Hats off and thanks to: Front desk - Alicia, Patricia, and Alexander; Concierges - Angela and William; The shuttle driver , Juan wonderful! Could not ask for a better vacation!

That was my first time ever at a resort. I have nothing to compare to but I think it was a great value for the money. The resort is best suited for families and big companies. Service was superb and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Christian from entertainment team is just amazing, Carlos from the sports centre kept me active and Cheko Angeles was always available to answer all my questions. The food was very diverse and of high quality. SPA is ok and they provide second time for free if you book it once. Staying all week at the hotel can be boring so I went for an excursion (Tulum and extreme tour), and went for snorkelling in Akumal to see the sea turtles (the local bus is just 30 peso).

Relaxing and pampered

I have stayed at a number of all inclusives in a few countries and this is a solid 3.5 - 4* in my opinion on average ! Some things are better than others but I am really surprised by the negative reviews on here! I am in the 1100 block and my room is great, huge with a jacuzzi, separate rain shower, 2 double beds and a sitting area, great balcony and close to restaurants, lobby and entertainment. The food is your typical good buffet, plenty of choices for all meals...I honestly don’t know why people are complaining, other than it could probably be a bit hotter however I have not had any dried out meat or fish and the fresh mussels are sooo good. For lunch check out the beach bbq area! I am working my way through the ‘al a ‘cartes’ Brazilian tonight 3* and you better like loads of meat....Tomorrow is Japanese which I hear is the best! One thing that rates a 5* is the entertainment team.... I have seen 2 shows so far, The Lion King, and the Rock stars show, both were so good and superior to the other Mexican resorts I have stayed at and also Dominican and Cuba... one thing that I would like to see changed is the times! The children’s entertainment doesn’t start until 8.30 and main entertainment 9.30..... half an hour earlier would be much better. It was fantastic that the kids club coached the kids so they could take part in the lion king as ‘extras’... what a great idea and memories and souvenirs that each child can treasure. Staff so far are friendly, happy and IMO they are not this way because they are looking for tips! However use discretion with the timeshare people!....they are at the hotel and also as you come out of customs at the airport they are on your left hand side...you think they are your transfer people! No! They gather outside the airport doors!

No Serenity At The Sirenis

The Sirenis hotel doesn't sleep. It is very noisy all day and into the evening. They have set it up to entertain Parents and their children. Children ran amok. No bar was sacred. Babies crawling on the floors, running through the restaurants--I was surprised to not see them smoking cigars on a bar stool and having a drink. The jungle atmosphere was lovely and the food delicious. The house wine at dinner is unpalatable so expect to order from the wine menus. The Hotel setting is picturesque but strangely, the resort is not at all romantic. I felt the outstanding feature of the hotel was the staff who showed more sophistication than the guests. What saved the two week holiday from being a disaster were beach massages from Lubia, an exceptional masseuse and the joyous Leydi ,who strolled the beach singing songs and serving drinks. Angel and Julio are excellent servers at the Buffet by the main pool. Much appreciation to Miguel, actually the two Miguels at Cinecitta a la Carte for being charming. Amado our shuttle driver was very gracious. Shout out to Lucie Ann who was an enormous help to us. The Rooms are terrific but an oddity was that Management made no effort to make cash available to us when the ATM machine was out of service for one week. Nor did Management approach us to ask us whether we were enjoying our stay. Since the Hotel is going the direction of being a Family Destination (though not for Seniors who would find the perpetual walking exhausting), it is not a place for couples to enjoy a respite. We will not be returning.

This was our second trip to the Grand Sirenas. The first was last year (Feb 2017)for one week with our kids (2 adult boys and 1 teen aged girl). We booked two rooms and that experience was so good we decided to go back this year for a longer time. We booked this year for nine nights but without the kids. Friends and friends of friends ended up booking as well. I cannot speak for anyone else but for my husband and I we were not disappointed. Overall we found the resort very enjoyable, even with some of the changes made since last year. The buffet was good with plenty of choices for breakfast and supper. We definitely want to mention Ronnie who was our waiter at breakfast. He always made our day and we would make sure to sit in his section. Our favorite bartender was Clemente in the lobby bar. He genuinely made us feel welcome every time. Our favorite restaurant was the Japanese. Silvia and Chef Ammorano (not sure on the spelling) were incredible and made the evening an amazing experience. One negative I will mention is the food at the beach BBQ. It was not as good as last year. Many times no guacamole or Mexican sauce. Never any grilled pineapple. We definitely enjoyed the vast beach and grounds with long walks most mornings. The steps into the Lazy River were a welcome addition. The renovated rooms were very comfortable and large. The snorkelling right at the resort beach was amazing and my husband got some incredible photos. Some in our group even saw an eel and stingrays. This year there were a lot more families with very young children so maybe it is more of a family resort, or it was the time of year. Overall we definitely recommend this resort.
