The Staff at our hotel was PERFECT! Always going out of their way to be helpful! We loved this resort. It was our second stay and will be back!
Had a fantastic vacation!
We stayed at the Palace for a long weekend. The place is beautiful and very clean. My husband and I are first-time Apple users and Cancun visitors. Both were awesome! We felt like Apple took care of us from when one of their agents met us at our airport and checked us in, to while we were at the hotel, to when we left. The reps are so professional and so organized.
The hotel is amazing! We hit the jackpot the first go-around. My hubby is in the food industry and he was blown away by the selection and presentation and taste. Can't say enough about the service. Hardest working people I have ever seen. Seriously, the servers were practically running from table to table, always with a smile on their face. Since this was our first vacation that wasn't camping in the U.S., we were nervous about it. But Apple was always there to answer questions.
And the hotel -- can't say enough. We got the jr. ste. ocean front - beautiful!! Bathroom is huge and the fridge was always stocked with soda, water, etc. (I'm a big water drinker and that was a concern for me -- unnecessarily so. Water was easy to be had everywhere!) Some people talk about the rooms being humid. I think the AC did a very decent job, however, this is the tropics! What does one expect? I felt very comfortable in our room. We had bottles of liquor on tap IN OUR ROOM!!
While we were there, a tropical storm had blown in, so we only saw the sun the day we arrived, for about five hours the entire time, and we still LOVED this place. I won't bother to mention all the wonderful workers by name bc everyone, and I mean everyone, was always greeting us with a smile on their face and an "Hola!" We brought a bunch of one-dollar bills to tip, so we did tip. I know some people don't, but these folks are so hard working, I wanted to tip.
When it was time to leave, there was a mixup with the Apple driver and we had to end up taking a taxi. Dani, the Apple rep at the Palace, was great and tried to find out what was going on. In the meantime, we decided to take a taxi to the airport with another couple and we got there in plenty of time. When we did, there were Apple reps ready to greet us and took care of the driver's fare for us. Then the reps actually escorted us into the airport and got us checked in. We really felt like we had a friend with Apple. We will DEFINITELY be doing this again. Thanks Apple and thanks RIU!!!
I wish I knew in advance that the hotel was rehabbing the penthouse above me. The crew of 10+ people worked from 8:00am to after 7:00pm. After I was moved, I lost my ocean view that I paid for. Apple customer service very rude! My new room didn't have hot water. After I complained many times and waited 7 hours, maintenance fixed it!!

From the moment we checked in the RIU Las Americas we were impressed.
Love this place...
we have been here before and love it. Staff is always very friendly, helpful and always smiling. Food is exceptional, you never go hungry.
Rooms on the 8th floor have undependable A/C. Maintenance tried to correct to no avail. Had to change rooms.
Not what I'm used to
The 24 hour room service is not true. You can't even get coffee till 7am, and then it's not a full breakfast menu. Mainly pastrys. Very noisy in the room all night. Would not recommend this to anyone.
This was our third trip back to Cancun and our first stay at the Riu Palace. It was a palace for sure. We were amazed how clean the hotel was would recommend this hotel to others. We loved it so much we would retrun to this same hotel.
First time at a Riu
I had a wonderful experience at the Riu the staff was very helpful . The accommodation were very clean! the only downside to my vacation was I was supposed to have a spa credit and I was not given it .
Home away from home
A resort was beautiful. The staff that went above and beyond, always cleaning always attentive very restful.

Great food, scenery and staff. Entertainment needs some help! Possibly two locations, a smaller bar instead of one for many guests; more variety we do not expect Karaoke on vacation.

Not much to fault with this hotel. Great location, service was friendly and attentive, facilities were new and clean, room was large and comfortable. The only downside was the food. Very average - from the restaurants to the buffet (we made an effort to attend as many restaurants as possible during our 5 day trip). The buffet had a large selection but there was nothing spectacular. Some food look old and stale, whilst others was bland and ordinary. The restaurant food standard was a bit better, but the portions were small and for an â€śall inclusiveâ€ť deal, I was a bit taken aback that you couldnâ€™t order more than 1 main.
I decided to do something different this year for my birthday and I choose Cancun as my destination. The Hotel Rui Las Americas seem to fit all of my needs. We arrived a day before my big day and I really didnâ€™t have any expectations but from the moment we arrived I was blown away. At check in Rebecca was outstanding she ask were we celebrating anything special. I told her it was my birthday celebration. Immediately you requested two glasses of champagne for us. Then she upgraded us to a ocean view junior suite. Wow what a fabulous view we had. The room was beautiful and the View was magnificent.
The hotel has six choices each day for dinner with no reservations required. You can choose from American Steakhouse, Italian, Japanese, Mexican, Fusion or the all inclusive Buffet. The food is outstanding and service impeccable at each location. However I most say Iâ€™m partial to the American Steakhouse. I ate their twice during my stay. My birthday dinner was superb. I had a special request. I had the Black Angus steak filet and a lobster tail which were prepared perfectly. Our waiter Adrian was the best. He went above and beyond the call of duty both times we ate their. I most mention the chef because he prepared our entrees which as I stated were great. The maitre d was also great.
Again all of the restaurants were fabulous. It just depends on your taste. Oh before I forget they have a high barbecue on Wednesday and Saturday weather permitting. So we attended the Saturday barbecue and they had everything you could possibly want. There was ribs, chicken, steak, shrimp, burgers, hotdogs and all of the sides. What a feast right at the pool and beach.
The hotel is all inclusive and also adults only. So the drinks are flowing from sun up to sun down. The bartenders make whatever you request make sure you request the top brands in your drinks. The entertainment staff are excellent making sure everyone is having a great time. Lastly I most mention the hotel grounds are kept spotless. They never stop cleaning that place. Our housekeeper name was Palir and she made sure our room was spotless each day. Not to mention the turndown service each evening and ensuring our bar was fully stocked each evening. Each suite has its own mini bar and refrigerator stocked with house beverages such as cold beer, water, and soda.
I strongly recommend anyone considering Cancun to stay at this location. You wonâ€™t regret in.
Great vacation, small beach
Absolutely beautiful hotel. Immaculate, friendly and great location. Only downfall is the small beach, but for the area it is actually one of the bigger beaches. Bar staff excellent as well as front desk staff. Entertainment was actually good for an all inclusive. Would gladly visit again. Buffets great, steak house god, Italian restaurant ok. Did not try other restaurants.
Great hotel staff could do better.
Ended up staying here on my own but had paid all inc for two, asked for an upgrade as I couldn't drink and eat for two and was told no! which I thought was poor customer service. Got allocated a room with a poor view on the first floor, it had stone bollards blocking the view and only one hour of sun late in the afternoon I asked to be moved and was after two days but this room also had bollards blocking the view! I was told there were no other rooms available but after paying one of the staff on the desk a sweetener I got a room high up with a sea view, money talks. The food was very good and the black and white restaurant was my favourite for surf and turf. The bar staff were good if you tipped but tended to favour the Americans who are used to tipping unlike us Brits. The Italian was very poor but the Japanese was good as was the European, all in all the breakfast, lunches and barbecue were great but its not cheap and you get what you paid for. Would I go back.......yes but not alone. On the plus side I made some awesome American friends and a few Canadians lol
Cant fault this hotel staff all very pleasant hitel immaculately jept they polish floors all dsy which is my ibly qualm some floorscatre vert VERY slippery. But that's only minor lol. Would stay again for sure
