The hotel rooms needed to have all surfaces scrubbed.

We loved the stay, there were some of the staff that stood out more to us than the others... but that is very common. The buffet style food is better than most of our all inclusive stays in the past. Facilities were a little dated, but more than adequate. We could not have not asked for more.... very satisfied... and we would go back. No complaints from us !!!

Beautiful hotel, but has a couple of drawbacks
Apr 19 2018
This hotel is beautiful, very clean and has a gorgeous beach, but it is a bit spoiled by a couple of things, first the staff is the least friendly of any resort I have ever visited, hardly ever greet or smile at you even when you greet them, mostly just the bartenders seemed to be friendly all of the time. The entertainment team did not seem to engage the guests with activities, I have been to a good many resorts where they walk around and encourage you to join in activities and are very outgoing. The shows were the same group of dancers singers and entertainment team every night, the shows mediocre although there is one especially talented and lovely singer. The good points are good food especially the hibachi restaurant, the cleanliness of the hotel and it's beautiful grounds.

Great vacation
Apr 08 2018
We stayed at Bavaro Princess for 6days. Each day there were different options at the buffets and after trying the restaurants, we ended up eating st the main Buffett for most of our meals as it was the freshest and best quality. The fresh squeezed juices in the morning are the best! It is a great place for a family or a couple. We went with our kids-a 4 year old and a 2 year old. They had the best time! Lots of birds on site. The beach is great, the hotel grounds are well maintained and We loved that they recycle unlike some other resorts. Try the dirty monkey drink, it is awesome!!!

Beautiful Place for Couples & Families
Mar 30 2018
The staff was wonderful and catered to our every need! The beaches are amazing and the massive area of the resort made us feel like we could venture out without being stuck inside a resort. I would not and we were told by the hotel that outside the resort is not recommended for "wandering" about. You would not want to venture outside the walls of the resort too far. We loved it all inside the Bavaro Princess! We would recommend it to any and all...couples and families!

Overall good experience
Mar 30 2018
The overall experience of our trip was very good. The one stand out point of the trip that was not good was the Apple Vacation representative that met with us on the start of the 2nd day to talk about details, excursions and weekly needs. When we made plans to do an excursion, we decided to do it with a company that was not Apple. One of the Apple reps literally found us in the lobby as we where getting ready to depart and accosted us for not scheduling the excursion through her directly. She told my wife she had made a mistake and would regret it and felt sorry for us for not having the excursion insurance. The bottom line was the same excursion was far more costly through the Apple rep then what it was through the company we chose. Beside this we had a nice room near the pool and beach and appreciated the person that welcomed us moved us to that location. The property is large and if you are in a location near the lobby it is a distance to the pool and beach.

The Resort was beautifully kept, room, buildings and grounds, pool and beach all kept very clean. If anything the resort was too big, but the Tram rides were handy and well used.

Beach was excellent, we did the Platinum package which is needed at this resort. Food was typical all-inclusive food, not gourmet by any means. Pool needs some updating, the entertainment was horrible. Premium drinks were not available at the swim up bar. We should have chosen an adults only with premium drinks and gourmet food. Room was great, maid service was great, platinum beach service was awesome. Very nice vacation. They advertise two adult pools so we assumed for adults only. That was not the case. Too many kids.

Family Reunion 2018
Mar 20 2018
Loved the grounds and all the green space and the beach was one of the best in PC. The 96 buildings are nicely clustered together and very clean. Beds too Hard!! You could hear from room to room with the air vents in the closet. Thus needs to be addressed for my privacy especially traveling with family members!!! We could always find something to eat but we were not crazy about the food. Loved the each rest and bar for a beer and great fries and fryed chicken!! Drinks were weak and to srupy!!! That needs to be addressed! Front desk staff were helpful and kind. Return ride to airport we should be given the customs form to fill out ahead of time instead of filling out at airport and wasting valuable time. We will return for another family reunion!

This resort is absolutely beautiful! The grounds are pristine! I wanted a tropical feel & this place delivered. The gardeners deserve some praise. They all work so hard! We stayed in a bungalow. It was perfect for us. Spacious & clean. The mattresses are very firm. Some investment in new pillows would be nice to see. Always had hot water & AC always worked for us. This resort is very well laid out. Just a short walk takes you anywhere you want to go. There is transportation available if needed for some but we never used it. We enjoyed walking the beautiful grounds. The beach is gorgeous. Such fine sand & beautiful blue green water. There is seaweed, of course, but again the hard working staff are always there cleaning it up. The pool bar is amazing with awesome staff. Only suggestion is to change up the music a bit. I liked the Spanish music but they play the same songs over & over again. Would be nice to hear some different ones ever now & then. Drinks were good & free flowing. Food was good. We only went to one a la carte, the steakhouse. We didn’t enjoy the steak but mashed potatoes were delicious. Ambience there was nice & again the staff were great, just not great steaks. The main buffet is good with lots of variety. You won’t be stuck to find something to eat. We especially enjoyed our freshly made omelettes every morning & fresh Santo Domingo coffee, so good! Staff always smiling & quick to please. We did find the vendors on the resort quite pushy. The vendors on the beach weren’t too bad. If you don’t want to buy or chat, simply say no thank you & keep walking. Remember to bring lots of $1 for topping. These people work so hard & deserve so much! We would diffinately return to this resort & would 100% recommend.

Beautiful Property

It is not nearly as large as it is made to sound. It is the perfect size. Beautiful pathways to walk with incredible wildlife (peacocks, flamingos and parrots) on property! Stunning. Unreal for this Canadian girl. Surreal really. Walking the property from lobby to beach is about a 7min easy paced stroll. The shuttles are great if needed. We never used them. The smell around the conservation area is a sulphur smell and not at all over-whelming. Noticeable as you pass, not sickening in any way. Pool side entertainment is a hoot and the team is top notch. Drinks flowed freely and there was a great variety. A beach bar that is for all....not just “privileged” clients! No towel issues other than a guest stole ours. It was our fault for leaving it unattended, but it was a $20 fee and was not nice. Not the resorts fault. We knew better. I also knew better than to leave my purse unattended at 2am while I used the washroom. Drunk judgment is bad though. I lost all the money in my wallet that night. It was under $20 US, my fault. 24hr snack bar proved to be the best!! Both in quality of food and the location (beach!) The rooms are exactly as described and very clean and spacious. The doors to the balcony had no screen. That made it impossible to get fresh air and keep bugs out at the same time. Not a huge deal. But odd. Food is very plentiful and lots of variety. Coffee machine in lobby is wonderful and delicious. Check in was a breeze. Close to a airport. Shops on site are very nice and also plentiful. Impressed with that! The vendors though....are absolutely unstoppable. Unrelenting and quite bothersome. Nothing works. Nothing. They come at you all day, every day. They should not be allowed to approach people so aggressively and frequently...especially poolside. We actually took the long way to and from the buffet on the day the vendors were set up right there on the patio. There should be a section for vendors where guests can approach them, if a service is needed. It seems like being rude is the only option...and I would not do that. I would return. 100%

The Bavaro Princess located in Punta Cana is a nice hotel which I visited February of 2018. After a much needed break from the winter cold I booked a vacation here. I am writing this so that anyone that books with any of the Princess hotels especially The Bavaro Princess be warned. At arrival I was approached by Amauris Yorro who was very nice and said he was concierge of the hotel and that he was available for anything we needed. Later I found out he was Royal Host. The hotel is very clean and nice and our suite was by the smaller pool which I had asked for. The bed was a totally different situation. It was hard as a brick and I have a bad back so I did not get any sleep. In the morning I was approached by Amauris Yorro again who was building trust with us and asked to help out. He immediately inquired about our night and arraigned to have the bed changed while we went to breakfast. As we were leaving breakfast he again stopped us and asked if we minded helping him out and listening to a presentation at the hotel. He said the presentation was a brief introduction to the All inclusive and introduction to being able to upgrade on our stay. He said we would get a Welcome package for our time and we would help him out by meeting his quota. I felt compelled to go since he had helped us out with the mattress and was so nice. As you can imagine it was a Royal Holiday Vacation Club Presentation. The one hour turned to 4 hours and a strong sell on buying the Royal Holiday vacation club. I first met with Abe Rodriguez, then another man who was the financial person, then Vanessa Drai who is the sales manager and drew up a contract. The whole presentation was full of non-disclosures and Misrepresentation of what was actually promised in the presentation and to what the actual contract and rules and regulations are of the Vacation club. When I returned to the states I sent a letter rescinding the contract based on Misrepresentation and was emailed that I cannot cancel and no refund would be given. It is now 4 months later and I am still battling my credit card and Royal Holiday which the Bavaro Princess has working in their hotel. As a hotel I rate it a 3/4 but the fact that the Hotel chain has such an unscrupulous company as Royal Holiday there to badger their customers and not let you even enjoy your vacation with these sales tactics is beyond. me. I have been to DR numerous times at other locations and never has this happened. It is a shame that such a hotel will allow this on their premises. Google Royal Holiday and you will find them in numerous Hotels in the Caribbean with the same sales tactics and unhappy customers trying to get out of their contracts. Even though I enjoyed my stay at the Bavaro Princess Hotel I rate them low on this type of practice. There have been numerous customers who were in same situation. Avoid the Bavaro Princess Hotel and Spa and Royal Holiday at all cost! They just lost a customer and I am sure will continue to lose travelers that do not want to put up with these practices.. will never go there again!

Great Experience

Beautiful resort. We were treated with respect and all the staff was at our service. We did not have the platinum or VIP service but it felt like VIP. Imagine if we had purchased that service, just an additional slice of heaven. We had a few issues which they corrected in short order or at least as fast as they could and as an apology they offered us a nice reasonable upgrade that made our stay just that much better. The entertainment was plentiful from parties on the beach, group aerobics in the pool to nightly shows. The Michael Jackson Tribute was a treat. Food was plentiful but somewhat lacking especially if you know your food and know how to cook. They had a good variety but were missing more Caribbean dishes. There was lots of pasta, fried chicken, pork ribs, fish (which we enjoyed), pork chops, some seafood etc. but lacked any curries, Caribbean food, dishes with shrimp, crab etc. In fact shrimp was far and few between which we found surprising since it is everywhere in our grocery stores back home. Crab was non existent and good luck on the lobster, its an upgrade, an expensive upgrade which I can find cheaper in my hometown in Ontario Canada. I think a little fine tweaking with the menus can go a long way. More Caribbean fare and less Canadian, American and Italian will make a big difference. A few tips, be early at the beach to get a cabana, wear lots of sunscreen, bring bug spray although we really did not get bitten, when you check in ask for a room close to the beach, here they will do their best to accommodate you, they did just that for us, it made a big difference, try the Coco Loco drink with or without rum, buy your excursions when you get here from the guys in the red shirts on the beach-much cheaper then from the airlines or resort-in fact half the price, watch out for time share sales people, carry lots of ones and fives only, tip to show your appreciation, only bring USD not Canadian, do not be afraid to haggle, then tip the person you just haggled with, find a guide that is trustworthy to take you off resort-don't do it alone and relax, this is a beautiful resort and any negatives are clearly over whelmed by how beautiful and lovely this place is.

People ask my husband and I why we always go back to the Bavaro Princess and we tell them because it is our second home and we are always treated like a beloved family member. We were there in February with family and friends and had a wonderful time. Our room is always clean and beautiful! Seeing all of our Bavaro family again like Nikki who always has a smile and helps us with check in and anything we need. Dolche, Jonathan, Reynoldo, Jose, and Richard at the lobby bar. Carlos at the beach bar. Raphy and Carlos at the pool bar. Francia at the buffet and Francsco the chocolate man. Freddy the concierge always asking if everything is ok. Thank you again to Mr. Ronald Ramirez for always making sure our trips are nothing short of amazing. We have never been disappointed in any of the meals we have had from breakfast to lunch and dinner. All the people that work at the Bavaro Princess always go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful trip. We can't wait to return for our 18th time. See our Bavaro Family ver soon!
