The hotel is much nicer than pictures show. Staff was excellent and very friendly. Every request was quickly taken care of with a smile. They never expected or waited for a tip. Need more bathroom facilities closer to beach area. Food was good but nothing to get excited about. Rooms were average but the bed was hard as a rock. We went in April 2013 and they were in the process of putting in new bed and updating all the rooms when we left so might be better now. But we didn't go for the food or rooms. Beach access was excellent and you could get into water easily without it being to deep right away or rocky. Vendors on the public portion of beach could get annoying sometimes but they weren't pushy and resort security kept them off resort property. We did buy quite a bit from them and saved ourselves a trip into town and a lost day from the beach to buy the same stuff they were selling. We would definitely go back to this hotel again, excellent value for the money.

Everything about our stay at the Royal Solaris was wonderful, from the hotel to the staff. Beautiful hotel & grounds! The only complaint I can even mention is after the second day we couldn't get the house keeping staff to restock the soda in our mini fridge in the room. But we did have an unen .. More>

But we did have an unending supply of bottled water. So essentially no problem at all!! Would recommend this trip to anyone looking for a great value and an amazingly carefree vacation.

This was our 15th Apple vacation, and the worst food variety we have experienced at any properties in Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Ixtapa or the Carribian. Breakfast was only eggs (no french toast, pancakes) and under cooked potatoes. Dinner was the worst - everything in sauces or gravies (nothing grilled) and you had to eat in the entertainment room which consisted of long banquet tables of 10 or 12 people (so you were always with strangers & kids) in a room that sat about 1000 people. Felt like we were at a cheap wedding every night. There were other restaurants for dinner and a couple of nice looking theme nights, and even though we were all inclusive, there would have been an additional charge to eat there. That is something that we have never encountered before. We always enjoy having a couple of meals during our 7 days at the specialty restaurants on the properties. Although older, the property & pools were clean and well kept, staff was attentive. Another big problem was that there was no Apple rep at the hotel - ever! Went down to the lobby to make our return shuttle to the airport arrangement several days, and there was never anyone there - the reps from the other companies said that there is never an Apple rep there. Finally had the front desk call and make our arrangements. Love Apple Vacations, and this was our first bad experience. Would not return or recommend this hotel in the future.

When we finally made it outside the reps hads coats on and we could not see the shirts we were looking for. My suggestion would be to have resp just outside of customs to help us out getting on the bus. I still will use appl in the future. The beds in the rooms were not as comfortable as I expected...

The hotel was ok. We were told we had a 2 double beds and a deluxe ocean view room. The room had a king bed and a pull down double bed that was incredibly uncomfortable. The view that we paid extra for was the same view that the rest of the hotel had. The hotel is very quiet and relaxed but basically shuts down once the sun goes down. The outside bars closed at 6pm and the only bar that was open was in the lobby with kids running around. There is also a nightly show but that's about the extent of the nightlife. The staff was incredibly friendly and no one approached us about the time shares which supposed this hotel is notorious for pulling you into. The food was surprisingly good. Overall, it was an ok experience. Thank goodness we took a boat tour in Cabo San Lucas that took up almost a full day because other than going to the pool or going to the beach and being harassed by the vendors that didnt stay behind the rope there is nothing else to do after 8pm. Next time I will spend a little extra and stay somewhere else.

There is only one place to get liquor after 6 at the lobby bar. Every time we went there it was full of parents drinking with there kids running all over. There should be a time for adults only like after 10 pm or open anothe bar near pool for adult only drinking in the evening. .. More>

They told us how to get to our room but did not explain anything further about the hotel or it's amenities or where we could get a drink or food. When we arrived at the hotel and checked in, they were rude and not helpful. They told us how to get to our room but did not explain anything further about the hotel or it's amenities or where we could get a drink or food. The windows at the resort had a film over them and it was not a clear view of the ocean, the windows appeared dirty. Our room door would not lock, we had to report this to the front desk by phone 4 times and went to the front desk twice. We were charged for a lock for the safe, nothing on the website explained this. We were not told about the Apple Representative or greeted by them. We found the Apple Representive on our own and he gave us his schedule and told us to come back later with our departure information. When we went back he was never there all week. Another company connoisseur helped us with our transportation. When we initally spoke with the Apple connoisseur, we explained to him that we were not told anything about the hotel, restaurants etc. He took us over to a hotel leaision, she explained the hotel amenities and she helped get our room door fixed. She also tried to sign us up for a time share presenation and was high pressure. I was disapointed that Apple warned so much about time share presentations and then sat us directly in font of that situation, with high pressure to book a tour. The food at the resort was very bad. Everything seemed watered down and the restaurants that we could book for dinner reservations has a limited menu and additional charges for food. Also they had a carribbean night and it was an additional charge. If we signed up for a time share presentation, they would allow us to attend this for no charge. This has NEVER been our experience with any other Apple resorts. We have booked ALL of our vactions thru Apple. I was very, very disapointed with the Apple representation at this resort and we will not go back to Cabo or any other Solaris resort as a result of our experience. I am sorry we had such a bad expierence with our vacation in Cabo and also with the represenation of Apple Vacations. Due to this expierence it put a damper on our vadation. We want to continue to book our vacations thru Apple, but this has tarnished our views and our experiences with Apple Vacations. I would like to see something done about the Apple representation at this resort, so others don't have the same experience with Apple representatives as we did.

Apple failed us all the way. Our plane was delayed going to Los Cabos and we were not informed even when we called andthey knew from the day before. On our way it was even worse. We checked witht hepple representative in the morning of our return and were told it was on time. We were stranded in an airport with nowhere to buy water or food for four hours. We attempted to call APPLE in LOs Cabos and got a voicemail. We did not arrive home until after 8 AM, almost 7 hors after our scheduled arrival back home. Apple ruined our Easter Sunday plans.

My husband and I spent our 4th all-inclusive in Mexico, first time in Los Cabos area for a week from May 11-18th. We got a good deal for the last minute deal that we paid. As far as an all inclusive type vacation, it was comparable to others we have stayed at. We see some negative comments, but in the end you make your vacation what you want it to be. We go to all-inclusive vacations now and then simply because we want a true vacation with everything available without much effort. We didn?t get approached once by anyone from the hotel regarding a time share, and rarely when we were off the resort (which was a surprise for us). Sure there are always people trying to sell you their tourist stuff but a simple, ?no, gracias? works. This trip we didn?t do any excursions and instead opted for our own which included taking the local bus to La Playita, to Los Cabos, and to Chileno Bay for snorkeling (not the variety of fish in Hawaii or other locations, but very pretty and calm area to snorkel nonetheless). Nice beach as well, with amenities such as toilets/shower/shade under palapas or palms). We would recommend the Thursday evening (runs from 5-10) art walk in the town of San Jose Los Cabos which was around a 15-20 minute relaxing stroll from the resort. We enjoyed the small town feel of San Jose and artsy character in contrast to the cold, somewhat shady, mostly overly pretentious restaurants of Cabo San Lucas. We also enjoyed a couple of massages a short walk from the resort just before the old town (a collection of shops/services) ? the deal was $30US for 1 hour or a couples massage for 1 hour for $50. A good deal, although probably a better deal if paying with $US than pesos which we did and got a poorer exchange rate. Both girls that were present there did a great, professional massage. We enjoyed our time at the resort. The grounds are beautiful, well maintained, and comparable to other resorts we have stayed at. The food was comparable to other resorts we have stayed at in the past. A variety of food which can get somewhat repetitive after a few days (although you can of course mix it up and not take everything at once). The drinks were pretty good, although sweet of course. More or less adult versions of slurpees. Especially enjoyed the Mojitos. We went to the steakhouse a-la-carte (great steak) and they use the restaurant that is used at lunch so it?s nice to sit outside and eat. We also went to the Mexican a-la-carte restaurant and enjoyed it as well. We didn?t go to the Italian restaurant that everyone seems to rave about as we thought being in Mexico we wouldn?t opt for the Italian food option. It is true that you have to call for reservations the day of, at 9am or shortly thereafter or you will not get a reservation. The service was better at the a-la-carte restaurants than the others of course where compared to other resorts was not as good. But then again we?re not the kind of people that expect and need to be waited on. The internet in the lobby is very slow ? should be upgraded to the present day! Our room was comfortable and clean, everything working fine. We had no problems with the furnishings like some complain about, and didn?t spend enough time in the room to care or notice. We were not bothered at all by the air conditioner unit, in fact it was the quietest we have experienced while staying in Mexico (and we also enjoy white noise when we sleep). The beds were firm as per usual (with a pillow top), although I found it to be quite comfortable. We had a room on the top floor overlooking the main street which we didn?t find especially noisy (the a/c helps drown out noises too when sleeping). There is a safe in the room which you get the key from at the main desk ? we weren?t charged for this unlike at other resorts. Please don?t leave valuables not locked up in the room ? this goes for any hotel anywhere in the world! We had no issues with anyone stealing our stuff. Although if someone really wanted to steal something I figure they need it more than we do. As we went during a lower season it wasn?t overly busy and we appreciated the fact that the children did not use the quiet pool. On Friday/the weekends the resort explodes with Mexican families which can tend to be louder than us North Americans. We enjoyed the quiet pool especially also due to its proximity to the ocean where you could relax while listening to the waves (not a swimmable ocean although beautiful nonetheless with a vast walk able area). We see some negative reviews about there being an obvious ?2 tier? division between the members and the non-members although we were not bothered at all by this. Sure they have some perks including a couple of special dinners (which looked liked buffet and entertainment you would get elsewhere on the resort) which non-members could pay for ? we didn?t participate as we didn?t feel $50+ a person was worth it. How is this different from being a member vs non-member with other things we find in North America? Overall, enjoyed our vacation experience. Calgary, AB

Last year, we vacationed at 2 of the Solaris resorts in Cancun and were so impressed, we decided to buy a membership. This spring, we tried the Solaris in Los Cabos and are happy to report that this resort also meets Solaris' high quality standards. The resort is large but very clean, safe, and family friendly. It is an all-inclusive that sits right on the beach and is within a 30 minute walk of the quaint town of San Jose del Cabo. The food, drinks, and activities were as good as we had hoped for. On the down side, we found the shows to be better in Cancun and the activity director at poolside tended to be a bit annoying instead of funny. But what impressed us the most at the other Solaris resorts was how polite, professional, and helpful the staff is. And this resort was no exception. Our members' assistant for the week, Bob Chapman, repeatedly went out of his way to make our stay an enjoyable experience. He was great on helping us with dinner reservations, excursion tickets, where to go and what to see, allowing me to use his boogyboard for the week, and offering helpful advise.We were extremely satisfied with our stay at the Royal Solaris Los Cabos. The only bad part of the trip was having to deal with Delta Airlines. My wife and I have traveled many times over the past 20 years, using various airlines and have consistantly had trouble with Delta. If you really want to leave as scheduled and arrive at your destination on time, PLEASE DO NOT USE DELTA AIRLINES. There ALWAYS seems to something that is delaying their flights... whether it's mechanical trouble, misplaced paperwork, pilot scheduling conflicts, or an unprepared airplane. On this trip, our arrival was delayed about 2 hours because of pilot scheduling errors, and the return flight was delayed over 4 hours because of mechanical trouble, misplaced paperwork, and an unprepared airplane. Of course, the staff was very appologetic...with their fake smiles and inaccurate answers... but who needs their hypocrisy at 3:00am!!! I'm suprised they were actually able to land the aircraft at the correct airport!!!! Moral of the story... Royal Solaris Los Cabos...YES! YES! YES! Delta Airlines...NOT ANYMORE!!!

Other than that, Mario or I should say Super Mario! was very considerate with all the arrangements he made for us.One great guy! Ana our sale gal was very through & nice in explaining our options in RCI & in the upgragdes.The food, service & entertainment was excellent.
