Just perfect for our family!
The best part of this hotel was the friendly staff. They were wonderful. The food was far better than we expected, given other reviews. We had delicious meals every time! The Spanish restaurant was fabulous and the Japanese restaurant is so good and such a show! The rooms are modest but fine. GREAT beds. Very comfy. The beaches were great for our daughter to swim and snorkel and play in the sand. The dance classes and entertainment at the pools were fun and not obnoxious. We just had a blast!
A relaxing stay at the Catalonia Riviera Maya
We had a wonderful time at this resort. The staff and services were great. Upgrading to the Priveleged Package gave us a lot more benefits and some exclusive benefits like the Pure Chill Bar, pool, and beach areas as well as the B Loved organic food restaurant. A week was just not enough to take advantage of all that this resort has to offer. We would definitely stay here again!
You get what you paid for
my friend and I selected this as it fit the timeline we needed, and was in a price that we could afford. Iíve been to other all-inclusiveĎs in this area, and this one was OK. You were allowed to go to a sit down dinner twice if you were there for at least 3 to 4 nights, buffet was OK but it got boring. At one point in time our key cards didnít work and I lock it was 11 oíclock at night and it took four times going up to the front office to get someone who knew what the heck to do to get us in the war room which included changing the batteries in our door. The drinks were OK, however if you wanted certain upgraded things and certain services you need to pay for privilege which we did not. The beach was heavily overran by seaweed, that the hotel tried to keep up on. If the hotel invested in a John Deere tractor and some other attachments they would be able to clear the sea weed a lot quicker than people shoveling with a pitchfork into a plastic bag. We chose the group transportation that comes with Apple vacations, which on our last day made us leave for an a half hours before plane flight if the hotel invested in a John Deere tractor and some other attachments they would be able to clear the sea weed a lot quicker than people shoveling with the pitchfork into a plastic bag. The hotel was clean and we had no room issues. I did overhear numerous others having room/shower issues. The biggest downfall was the food. It was the same buffet every day. There was no variety in the food choices. It was the same food every day. I liked that the la cart restaurants did not need reservations and their food there was good. I wouldn't stay here again due to the food. the rest of the resort was fine.
Would never stay there again
We are an older couple and we were placed on the 3rd floor with no elevator service near us. The service from apple was terrible. We will not use apple again
Quick get away
Enjoyed a quick visit. The rooms were mediocre compared to the rest of the facility. They could definitely use upgrades/repairs. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Didn't have any issue with finding chairs either by the pool or beach. The food was delicious.
Niece place to stay but we have few unexpected situation
- room was next to bar with the music ....ask for different room
- my kids toys has been stolen, no one came to apologies or take effort to find
-all inclusive but not have access to all bars ect., required to upgrade (exclusive)
Not sure why the hotel was short on washclothes which made it difficult to clean your face, etc. Appreciated that the loud music stopped at 11:30 pm each night -- very annoying when trying to sleep. TV coverage (in English) on NBC switched back and forth between Florida and Pennsylvania stations ???
Good resort; excellent staff
This was a 4-star resort, and I'd say that's accurate. The bar staff and servers were certainly 5-star. Refilled drinks before they could get empty.
Poolside staff lead games were too loud and too long. You could hear it on the beach so it was not relaxing for me.
Nice All Inclusive Resort
Nice place although they had lots of construction going on. I feel like I should have been made aware of this and moved to a different villa. Long waits at some of the restaurants, but the food is all good so it was worth the wait. Clean beaches although there is a lot of seaweed (that does get cleaned up in the morning). Make sure you bring water shoes to get in the ocean as it is very rocky for the first 50ft or so. Overall would go again and recommend when they are not doing major construction.

Catalonia resorts made our honeymoon unforgettable. We will always keep our lovely memories. The resort is fully accessible, many pools, restaurants.... our favourite ‚ÄúLa Brisa‚ÄĚ with a large buffet for perfect breakfast, lunch and dinners.
The all inclusive option is the best especially if you want to drink and eat as much as you want. The hotel is located inside Puerto Aventuras which is totally secure. Around all amenities and very close to Playa del Carmen. Will go back promise!
Catalonia Yucatan beach fantastic
Me and my husband booked a fortnight stay from Scotland. What can I say fantastic resort staff very friendly and entertaining! Felipe at the beach and tequila bar is brilliant he always attends to you promptly he has made our holiday! The Japanese restaurant was ever so entertaining and delicious the cook was fabulous and company was great would also recommend the steak house that was fantastic! Was not so keen on the Mexican, the Italian was good but small portions. Buffet was convenient when wanting a quick feed always something for all. The crepes were really nice alrhough some of the staff there were quite rude and the T bar staff were not as nice as the beach and tequila bar! All in all I would definitely recommend and come back in a second! It is a fantastic resort absolutely loved it! We did not upgrade to privileged although did think about it but felt no need as it was fantastic anyway ūüėä go home on Sunday don‚Äôt want to leave ūüėā
Holiday in Riviera Maya
I was a little dissapointed by the accomadation to be honest. The quality was more 3star than 4. We didn't seem to have much lighting in the room which was frustrating when trying to apply my make up. I had trouble getting the shower to work also and then when it did finally work the water was cold. I did report this. The temperature was sorted out but I still found the shower very difficult and a bit sporadic. The bed was very clean and comfortable though.
The food was pretty good. We found going to the El Mercado very pleasant and spotlessly clean. The steakhouse also exceptional, but the Italian extremely dissapointing. We waited ages for our food and when it came the risotto was sticky like glue and the beef was just like a pile of fat on my plate, it really was disgusting. Now I know we were in Mexico not Italy, so why have an italian restaurant if you can't serve Italian food?
The entertainment was superb, fab talented dancers and the animation team amazing, so upbeat all the time. I didn't get all their names but Mitzi and Tony, certainly stood out with their fun loving personalities, and the beach party that they organised were great fun
Unfortunately the beach although lovely sand gets covered in lots of seaweed, which I don't like. The staff removed it as often as they could, but it's a shame as well as rocks in water, that you can't do anything about
There is also a chance to upgrade for a few hundred pounds which creates that bit of them and us situation
I found some of the staff to be a little bit miserable, men and women, certainly. Not much customer service especially n the bars. A smile doesn't cost anything
Apart from all of the above, the holiday was quite relaxing but I would recommend booking the trip to visit the cenotes, quad biking and zip wiring through the jungle, fantastic fun. The weather was amazing also
Beautiful resort. Amazing people (Filiberto and Louis at the Tequila bar are two of the kindest, most professional, and most hilarious people we have ever met). Rooms are a little outdated, but very comfortable. The pools and common areas were perfect, entertainment was great, food was terrific (yes, even the buffet!), the drinks were plentiful, the atmosphere was both relaxing and exciting, and the tours (we visited Tulum and Playa Del Carmen) were informative and fun.
We had issues with flooding in our ground-floor room on the second morning of our week-long stay. We woke up to flooding in the bathroom - water was rushing through the vent in the wall, presumably from the unit above ours. It took a while to convince staff to help with this issue, but once our room was cleaned and staff saw the extent of the problem, we were quickly moved to a different room.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. This place is located in a wonderful spot, and we felt safe and secure throughout our vacation. Would absolutely recommend, and hope to return in the future.
5 nights was not long enough
Overall good experience. One problem with one of the theme restaurants and did not feel staff did much in relation other than try to give an excuse and consider that a solution. Took away from the positivity of the trip.
