The food verity and quality was very poor. I ended up getting very sick on our 2nd day from food poisoning. It lasted 2 days and never felt right for the rest of the trip. Our entire group of 8 were disappointed with the food.
t\This is our sixth visit to this facility and we would go nowhere else. We love it.
Iberostar Punta Cana
Really had a good time. We had stayed there before. Had an ocean view. Alittle deceiving. If u sat down on the balcony it was a ocean view. If u stood up, you had a top of a restaurant and trash container view. But all in all a beautiful resort
Terrible room maintenance
Hi, Apple Vacation team, I complained three times about my room air condition. Was so noisy, that was NOT possible to sleep, hotel management did nothing (one time I spoke front desk, two times I spoke to hotel manager name Johnly with no result. Late last our stay in this hotel night front desk called as to offer another room. We refused to take it, because it was too late for us.Room maid service was terrible too.Three days was good, but after next day only haf (no beds), next day nothing at all??!!! Had to complain room service manager too. Definitely, I would NOT recommend this hotel to my friends and will post my review on trip adviser and hotels Website. It was not first trip to Punta Cana and my wife and me totally dissatisfied of our vacations. Sincerely, Arturas Dudonis.
We actually asked to be moved.....the rating for the hotel wasn't the same as mexico Iberostar......no room service etc.....just overall lower quality than Mexico lower Iberostar resort. moved to Paradisus Palma real
Great staff, food/drinks poor.
Overall pleased with our visit. I've stayed preciously at the Iberostar Bavaro but this was my first time at the Punta Cana/Dominicana. Room was clean, great location. A/C wasn't very cool and refrigerator did not work properly. Food at buffet restaurants was not very good quality and very few options. Drinks from the bars were not good at all. Poor quality and frozen drinks were not frozen. However the service was great and the staff is wonderful. We loved Maria at the pool and Anabel in the lobby bar! Vanessa in the Hispaniola restaurant was so pleasant at breakfast and always remembered us and greeted us with coffee and mimosas :) One of the main issues we had was being relentlessly pressured by the vendors and entertainment staff. This was my 3rd visit to Punta Cana and it has been the same each time. I understand it's their means of making money, however even when you politely tell them "no thank you" or "I didn't bring money with me" they would still continue to pressure you. Overall, our stay was great but the hotel could use some work on the food and drink quality. Great service by Apple Vacations and our Amstar excursions rep Romer :)
Good for the 3 days
When you arrive they fall all over you, when you leave not so much help. No one could get our boarding passes printed. Friends had a better set up cheaper at another location
I planned this trip for my 77 year old mom - her first out of the country and all inclusive and was so disappointed! Check in was delayed (we were supposed to be able to check in at 3pm and couldn't until 3:45). There were ponds throughout the hotel (by the buffet, by the rooms) that were filled with stagnant green algae water! There was garbage (plastic bottles and wrappers) right outside our patio that were never picked up. The food was disgusting!!!! Our last night was at the seafood restaurant and and it was inedible - the table next to us also got up in disgust and left with their meals barely touched. The beach area was nice, but there was no drink service. I have been to many resorts in the Dominican, Jamaica and Mexico and this was by far the worst - there is no way this should be a 5 golden apple - I feel totally duped! Not sure I would trust Apple's rating system again.
Great hotel, supper entertainment
Special thank you to the entertainment team that kept us entartained all the time, supper nice shows and very friendly. The service at the bar could improve a little, waitting to long for a drink. The food at the dinner buffet as well not so great. On the other hand the food at the restaurants was amazing! number 10! Great hotle to go on vacation and will sure go back in the future
Excellent entertainment at this hotel
The hole staff and specially the entertainment team were amazing always working to make us happy in the vacation. The food was ok, could use a little improvement in the dinner buffe. Overall we enjoyed every minute in this vacation
Myself, wife and grand-daughter(20) enjoyed the hotel and grounds. The extra trips were handled by an apple representatitive in the lobby . I didn't get the young woman's name but she was very helpful, even though she was swamped with airplane problems from other tourists. I think she and all your staff should be commended

Still our favorite, returned for 13th time
Still keep coming back. Same Iberostar that we love and remember. Thank you, Missy Foy, for assuring us our preferred location. So many of the same staff that always make our stay special to us. Special hugs to Ramona, our adorable housekeeper, and to the best bartenders, Leovaldo and Francisco. We hear that the shows are wonderful, and we should see them, but it's so nice to hang out at the lobby bar, where everyone is like family. Everything was always clean and the room was well stocked. Whatever you need, someone will get it for you. Had a massage at the central garden area and would certainly do it again, highly recommended. Too bad, for me, that I had gone the day before leaving. We only go to the beach and never had a problem finding loungers. This was October, my review is very late. We should be planning our next trip by now. There are new safes in the rooms, much easier to program and use.
Stayed 6 days at the resort, from 1-6-18 to 1-12-18.Arrived after sunset and we had a very good first impression. Christmas decorations were still up and everywhere looked nice.
The room was clean, safe for valuables and an iron in the closet and there was a free minibar with water, refreshments and beer which were replenished every day. Also, there is a coffee maker and coffee or tea to make in the room. Air conditioning worked great, (only 3 settings), we had a balcony with view to the stores on the side of the resort. Bathroom was well stacked with body wash, shampoos and conditioners and a hair dryer.
At the pool we have to go before 10 AM to find beach chairs, on the beach area I can't even imagine the time you have to go to find one, always taken. Maybe in the afternoon, after 4 PM...Nice beach, you could walk both ways, activities offered for charge. Two restaurants located near the pool and beach satisfy your hunger and thirst. Near the pool, every day there were some free activities and shows.
Staff is friendly, try to help although not everybody speaks English. We booked with Chocolate and tried out two restaurants, the Japanese and the La Merida(sea food), we liked them both. Went on two excursions we booked with Huan, one to Santo Domingo and one to the El Limon waterfall, both whole day trips. The waterfall one is very interesting, we travelled by bus, speed boat, horseback and walk down and up on a lots of steps to the waterfall. The city tour is also nice, but far from the resort and you sit a lot. I recommend them both, specially if you have a teenager with you like we had, and try to negotiate the price for the trips, it helps even more if you pay with cash.
The buffet offers a variety of food, not quite similar every day, you just have to pick whatever you feel like. For beer and wine we had to ask the waiters, only one kind of beer - Presidente and one choice of wine, white, rose or red.
Nightly shows were ok, involved singing, dancing and sometime people from audience. The shops on property have pretty much everything you need extra and souvenirs.
Overall it was a nice vacation,.. not that extraordinary that I would return over and over again.
Nice, friendly hotel with excellent food and staff
We've just spend 2 weeks at this hotel. We were greeted by Walter concierge who looked after us all holiday, he is friendly, helpful and has loads of local knowledge. Ask for him n he will make sure u have a good time.
All the food is good, loads of choice and special diets catered for. The steak restaurant is a must, beautiful big juicy steaks, the staff are happy n helpful.
We did not see many English maybe to early in the year.
The large beach area has the lovely white clean sand and you can walk for miles.
The singers on a evening were a let down but the entertainment guys make up for that.
Family and disabled friendly.
Iberostar Punta Cana
My family and I stayed at this resort 1/6/2018-1/13/2018. My kids are 20 and 25. Both brought their significant others. There were a total of 6 of us and I had booked three rooms. We arrived at the resort at approximately 2:30 and where checked in my 2:45. We were told by the front desk to go directly to the buffet as it closed at 3. We arrived at the buffet and told the woman who was seating people that we needed a table for 6 and her response was an eye roll and obvious dissatisfaction that we arrived so closely to the closing. We walked away with a poor first impression. I approached someone else working there who gave us a table. This is the third resort we have stayed at in Punta Cana and this is the first one we have felt we will not return to.
Food: you can only get 3 reservations when staying a week. Which means you are at the buffet for all other meals and the food at the buffets is the same. They throw in a few extra dishes here and there but you pretty much end up eating the same thing all the time. The food itself was okay. 3 people in my party did not feel well most of the week after eating.
Rooms: No problems with the rooms. They were clean upon arrival. My daughter’s room did not get cleaned one day for some reason so she did have to chase down the chambermaid for towels.
Beach: The beach is nice. Get a chair early or you don’t get one.
Nightly shows: Several of the shows involve volunteers from the audience. By the middle of the week I couldn’t get my adult kids to stay. One of the shows involved a cast member pretending to shoot himself in the head. There are families with young children there and it just seemed inappropriate for families with young children. The “Rock” show wasn’t bad. The band was the best part of it. The dancers were also good. Unfortunately the 2 female singers they have are not great and the songs they sang were horrible.
I give this place a 3 because overall the majority of employees we came into contact with were good. The resort is clean. It’s just not a place I will return to because I didn’t feel the food variety was great and the fact that you were restricted to 3 dinner reservations. Also the struggle with beach chairs. It’s a small resort.
Woorst first impression (still here for 6 days unfortunately)
I’m gonna start by saying that upon check in we were greeted by a super friendly concierge and front desk service. But then everything went downwards. Wifi wasn’t working (nobody came even after multiple calls to the front desk), the sheets were dirty(no one cared)and more.... I asked for bottled water.. no one came. Anyways i payed close to 1600$ cad and I’m still here for 6 days... VERY DISAPPOINTING oh and by the way wifi is still not working... our vacation is just ruined because of bad service.
