Fairly disappointed

Had a 7 day stay, not once was I able to find a chair to relax on on the beach, not once. Everything is already reserved by towels that belong to people that aren’t around for hours. I could not take 3 steps in any direction without someone coming up to me trying to haggle me into buying something. One night after going for a walk thruought the resort I got mixed up in directions, asked for assistance and got laughed at by a group of employees when all I needed was a simple point in “that direction.” I will not be returning nor will I be reccomending.

Rooms and Japanese restaurant
Mar 01 2018
The rooms were clean and spacious our only complaint was very hard pillows so bring your own if you prefer soft flat pillows they do not provide another choice. All the food was good to wonderful except the Japanese restaurant was less than desirable and felt a little ill after. The food was overcooked.

The restaurants are "full" even upon check-in. When walking by there are only a few tables-never "full". I was unaware I needed to get reservations before getting to the resort. I wish I would have had better orientation to the facilities. Overall, the hotel staff made great efforts to give us a great time...and we did.

Good Fun Trip for a week
Feb 28 2018
I liked the hotel in general. The staff were very courteous and friendly. The day entertainment programs were good. The biggest letdowns, based on our stay in other resorts, was the quality of food and the nightly entertainment programs. They can definitely do a lot to improve on these 2 counts.

Great vacation
Feb 25 2018
This is great resort. The staff was fun and very friendly. The food was about like you would expect at an all inclusive. It was good but not great. Although there was a very wide selection of foods in the buffets. The rooms and the resort was very clean and appeared to be pretty well maintained but there were some areas the looked old and worn. With that said, they were doing repairs and updates when we were there. The beach was huge and clean. The pools were nice but they were much deeper than I have ever seen at a resort. The pools had an area where you walk in but quickly went from pretty shallow to nearly 6 ft deep. The the majority of the pool is an average of 5 ft deep. Overall was a great vacation and would definitely go back.

Gorgeous Grounds, Rooms getting tired looking
Feb 01 2018
Do not accept rooms ending in 87 thru 96. They face the inner courtyard, which is a nice view, but there is absolutely no air movement. Couldn't sit outside in the evening at all. Also, thou rooms are No Smoking, my room smelled like cigarettes. There were butts left in the plant (3rd floor) and never picked up by housecleaning. They must run out of King Sheets, so put queen size on. You feet, if your are over 5'8", are laying on the actual mattress. We ripped the sheets off the bed, and she did put on the correct size on the next day. Though you will not go hungry, my family thought the buffet, especially at breakfast, was so so. The beach and grounds were kept beautiful. My favorite was the House Band that played nightly at the Star Band area. This is between the Punta Cana building and the buffet. They were awesome. Nightly, a nice size crowd would come and we danced to Latin music. They only play till 10:45 pm, so don't miss it.

The food verity and quality was very poor. I ended up getting very sick on our 2nd day from food poisoning. It lasted 2 days and never felt right for the rest of the trip. Our entire group of 8 were disappointed with the food.

Really had a good time. We had stayed there before. Had an ocean view. Alittle deceiving. If u sat down on the balcony it was a ocean view. If u stood up, you had a top of a restaurant and trash container view. But all in all a beautiful resort

Terrible room maintenance
Aug 14 2017
Hi, Apple Vacation team, I complained three times about my room air condition. Was so noisy, that was NOT possible to sleep, hotel management did nothing (one time I spoke front desk, two times I spoke to hotel manager name Johnly with no result. Late last our stay in this hotel night front desk called as to offer another room. We refused to take it, because it was too late for us.Room maid service was terrible too.Three days was good, but after next day only haf (no beds), next day nothing at all??!!! Had to complain room service manager too. Definitely, I would NOT recommend this hotel to my friends and will post my review on trip adviser and hotels Website. It was not first trip to Punta Cana and my wife and me totally dissatisfied of our vacations. Sincerely, Arturas Dudonis.

Honest Review

We stayed 7th – 21st April 2018: this was our first holiday at the Iberostar Punta Cana, after staying at the Iberostar Costa Dorada in Puerto Plata 5 times. On arrival, check in was a little slow but thorough and the staff were friendly and welcoming. As a thank-you for being a repeat customer we received a bottle of rum and 2 t.shirts in our room - a nice gesture. Our room (2285) was spacious, clean and overlooked the beautifully kept gardens in front of the restaurants. Yes the room was a little dated, but it had all we needed - the bed was enormous and super comfy, the shower was powerful and hot water plentiful, aircon and ceiling fan were well received with temperatures in the early 30's. The housekeeping was good and our mini bar was re-stocked every day without fail. There were two large restaurants next to each other - we ate in the Punta Cana side as we found the Dominicana side busier - the food was plentiful and regularly replenished. It did get a little repetitive over the 2 weeks but they do try hard to cater for all nationalities and tastes. Our favourite meal was breakfast - vast amount of choice plus omelettes / fried eggs to order. We had a regular waitress by the name of Venice and she was lovely – nothing was too much trouble and she always managed to seat us in her area, no matter how busy it was. The bars were always very busy but the staff were friendly, efficient and did their best to get you served quickly – Jonny, Francisco and Yanet all deserve a special mention. Many of the cocktails are pre-prepared (like slush puppies) and were mega sweet, but if you don’t like them there are plenty of other drinks to choose from, including beer, soft drinks and some branded spirits like Gordons gin, Smirnoff vodka, Martini, Cinzano plus others. The beach was amazing! You could walk for miles on the clean sands or swim/snorkel in the warm and clear turquoise sea. Sun beds were plentiful, but many were reserved both on the beach and by the pool (some were unoccupied all day but you always get selfish people who do that!). In areas away from the beach & pool bar, beds were available – not a problem for us as we prefer it a little quieter. The large pool could do with a bit of attention in some areas (cracked tiles etc.) but was clean and the water was warm like bath water - bliss!! The grounds are immaculate with a team of gardeners constantly cutting the grass, weeding, trimming and clearing. There are truly beautiful areas within the grounds including ponds with flamingos, ducks, turtles, herons and various fish. We also spotted many other stunning sights including woodpeckers, humming birds and parakeets. The free wi-fi service is good – we could even get a signal on the beach! It was my birthday whilst we were there and I had a very welcome surprise – a bottle of bubbly on ice waiting in our room – another very nice gesture and a fitting end to a lovely day. There are several well stocked, reasonably priced shops on-site selling a range of items from sun cream and flip flops to jewellery. The only two negatives for us: we weren’t allowed to use the pools and sauna in the spa as we hadn’t upgraded to that package (we believed they were part of the standard AI) and the fact that the Dominicana was on the same site and so the hotels shared many of the facilities; everywhere was extremely busy, especially at night because of this. All in all we still had a fabulous holiday though!!

Carefree Week at Iberostar Punta Cana
Pipsano, Costa Rica
Wed May 23 05:46:46 EDT 2018
I stayd a week with my husband at All Inclusive Iberostar Punta Cana. Room was very big, had everything we could possibly hope for and a great view of garden and sea. There were endemic birds in trees right by the open walkway to out third floor room. There were quite a few restaurants to choose from and an incredible selection of mostly very good food and snacks, many bars with all incl. drinks, beautiful gardens. We were able to go for walks by the river in the huge closed off area, looking for birds. The beach was beautiful, though just about all the beach beds under a shade were reserved when we got there early in the morning, even though there are signs stating you can’t reserve them. As the water gets deep real close to the shore it may not be suitable for small children, but there are plenty of pools. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, so much so, I am going to look for other Iberostar hotels at other holiday locations. The people working here were all very, very friendly, with the exception of our waitor at the Gourmet Restaurant, who seemed an arrogant snob. They had wine you had to buy by the bottle for a quite high price. When I checked on internet I found out, the one we bought was actually a cheap wine. The food in this ” gourmet” place was average European restaurant quality. Some restaurants you had to book some days early, esp. the Steak Restaurant seemed very popular. We were too late to try it.

Massive, Gorgeous, Little Bit Overhyped

During my stay a little while back at this Iberostar resort, I had two bad experiences, both due to poor managerial service, and will state them first but will not let it ruin my overall rating for this place. The Bad: 1. During the second night of our stay (three families but roomed with one other person), I had the unfortunate experience of getting locked out of the room at 1am. By locked out, I mean that the key cards did not work on the card reader on the door. Management told us there is really nothing they can do because of it being late at night and told us they will attempt to contact someone to fix it and that we should wait outside of the door and refused to give us an extra room. A repairman arrived at 4am (we slept on the floor outside...) and after an hour of trying to get us in, he determined it can't be fixed and we were finally given a room to sleep in 5 HOURS LATER. The door wasn't fixed till about 6pm the next day... 2. A few days in, I left my wallet in the room on top of my suitcase which had about $50 (checked in the morning to make sure i had money for tips) in it and upon returning from an excursion, I saw that my wallet had been emptied out. I filed a claim with management who the entire time refused to believe me. The next day they contacted me again and told me that my room was entered twice while I was away which even they said was unusual as maids only open it once. Even after this they refused to pursue any further actions... The Good: My favorite part of this trip was how elegant the overall design of the resort was from the beautiful ponds in the front lobby to the precisely landscaped pool/beach area. The food was typical of resort in DR but the variety amused me a bit. The entertainment staff weren't as jumpy as other places I've been too but I was still able to enjoy the activities they did. Unfortunately for this place, I can't say that I had some amazing notable experience as many other resorts I've visited but I guess it's an okay place to enjoy with your family as long as your trip is not ruined by the poor responses of the management.

I have travelled here annually for five years and I love this place. This resort offers relaxation and entertainment so whatever you are in the mood for, they deliver! The animation team is the true gem of the experience. They work hard to bring humor, games and my favorite, dancing every day. They are an amazing group and are an important part of this resort!

Best vacation place! This is my 5th year and I love everything about this place. The hotel staff is amazing and willing to help whenever needed. The food is good and the animation team will keep you entertained!
