Apple Vacations Traveller Reviews
The Couples Tower Isle resort is a stand out from the staff to the resort it self. We have stayed at others places and by far the way the staff treats you was exceptional. We are making a return trip to the awesome resort.
15 yr anniversary trip
Our overall experience was very good. The a/c didn't work the greatest in the first room, but we did do a room change . The pool at the swim up bar is in need of repairs, but it sounds like they are already doing this. Food quality was excellent, always try the soup it won't disappoint. The staff there are not enough words to describe how well they treat you. From the grounds keepers to the managers they always go out of their way to stop and speak to you. It has been 12 years since our last visit to Couples Tower Isle and I can say it was great to be home. It is very nice to go to an all inclusive and that is exactly what you get. No extra tipping is expected like at a lot of all inclusive resorts. If you would like a nice, relaxing vacation check out Couples they will not disappoint.
The hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing vacation and were able to do all the activities we wanted to on our short time period. They exceeded our expectations by leaps and bounds!
Spot on for some R & R....
My husband and I were married here at Couples Tower in Ocho Rios in February of 2017. Apples ratings were spot on. The atmosphere here was SUPER mellow, the service and staff were super friendly. I did feel a little younger on the crowd at 35 years old. But it didn't matter, we enjoyed our time!
We enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly. Enjoyed the inclusive water sports and excursions. We were a little disappointed by the beach. It was very small and could not walk on it. Also, not a lot of restaurant choices at this resort.
Love this resort it's not too big so you're not tripping over other guests yet it's small enough to provide intimacy & romance. The food is delicious & the staff are so friendly, beautiful views & grounds. This was our 2nd trip to this resort & we will definitely return, I love the dive staff & actually became PADI certified this time. Can't wait to return again!
Our stay at Couples Tower was everything we hoped for. The resort was private and not crowded. The beach was beautiful and footsteps away. The food was delicious! The staff was friendly and always asking how your day was going. We did not have to travel far to the excursions and they were breathtaking. It truly was the perfect vacation!
We went as a delayed honeymoon and had an amazing time! The staff was always willing to help with anything and we loved all the complimentary water sports, shopping trip, cruise, and Dunns Falls! We will definely be recommended to all our friends!
Beach completely unusable during the whole stay due to storm. Beach entirely covered by trees, plastic bottles, shoes, trash in some places over a foot deep. Never was able to dive for the whole time because of rough seas.
Overall, we enjoyed our trip. At times, the bar staff at the swimming pools made us feel like we were an inconvenience and were not the most polite. Also, the entertainment was kind of boring. The bands at night were great, however that is almost all there was to do at night. We got kind of bored after about day 5. I wish there was more information about the events going on and I wish there was more to do on site.
Couple Tower Isle - everything and more
I looked at different all inclusives in Jamaica and read the reviews for Couple Tower Isle. The photographs looked great and the reviews were spectacular. We went during the off season and couldn't have ask for a better time or a better resort. The staff and facilities made all the difference. Everyone working there was happy! Smiles all around! Always asking how we were and if there was anything we needed. The room was spacious and clean. The food at the restaurants was top notch. We loved the beach, the pools and the private island. We were only sad when we had to cut the trip short due to the project hurricane. We plan to go back next year!

let me start off by saying I’m still here and has to write this review! This hotel is fantastic and I’m dumbfounded by anyone who says differently. Although it is an “older” hotel but which several people have stated it is by now means run down. After visiting the piano bar you begin to learn the history of the hotel. It’s an homage to the playground it was for the stars in the 50s and 60s. It’s. Smaller resist but by no means feels small. Impeccably clean. The staff is friendly without being in your face. There are plenty of things to do if you choose. Tipping goes a long way. Please do so. The staff works hard and long hours. A couple of dollars here and there is very much appreciated! The rooms are wonderful. We are in block 5. The most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in! Your patio is private which is lovely. Some
Say the beach is small. I found it to be just right. It’s a slow week so there’s a ton of room to spread out. For those tho who complained about the weak drinks there a reason for it! You don’t want your guest drunk and passed out all over the place by lunch time. The bartenders will gladly make your drink stronger if need be. Remember you are drinking all day it’s not a sprint it’s a marathon :)
Close to Becoming our new Favourite
We stayed at CTI for four nights, before moving to CSS for the remaining 6 days of our holiday. This was our second time to CTI, and this visit exceeded our expectations. As with all Couples resorts, the staff is what helps make this place the experience it was. All staff, whether the bar staff, restaurant, or dive staff, went out of their way to ensure our stay was the best it could be.
Our first night we ate at the Verandah Restaurant, and service and dinner were both excellent! Ricardo our waiter ensured everything was as perfect as could be, Second night was the buffet dinner and show on the pool deck. While not a huge buffet fan, the quality of the food was very good, and the show very relaxing and entertaining. Third night we spent at Bayside. Food was excellent, and the view can't be beat. Our last night we ate at Eight Rivers, and again, great meal.
Breakfast food in the buffet was excellent.
The food served at the Veggie bar, underneath the main bar, is not to be missed!! Everything fresh made to order, and extremely good! Smoked Marlin Dip was to die for!!
I got PADI certified on a previous trip to Couples, so was able to enjoy a couple of dives. Dive crew is great, making sure everyone feels comfortable, while ensuring everyone remains safe.
Had a wonderful couples massage which as always, was incredible. While the Spa at CTI cannot compete with the ambiance of Charlie's Spa at CSS (nothing can!! ) it was still all around a relaxing, leaving us feel completely relaxed.
We stayed in a Deluxe Garden View room, on the third floor, close to the stairway down to the main level. Excellent room and location!
On our last day, a shuttle took us on the extremely long trip to CSS (4 minutes) for us to continue on with our trip.
If you have the option, I would definitely recommend a split stay with 2 of the Couples Resorts. Breaks up the routine,
I stay at this resort. Im getting married here in August this year but will never stay here again. The management treat the workers like dirt. Ill spend my money someplace else. The guys and girls you have bartending are the nicest people in the world and they deserve better
My husband and I spent 15 nights at Couples. It was truly a mixed bag.
THE ROOM: We had a deluxe ocean room, block 4 level 3. The view was spectacular. I was a huge fan of the balcony - the way it is designed, it's basically it's own little room. You can't see your neighbors, so it truly feels private. The rest of the room isn't anything special. You'll have plenty of storage for clothing/other items. The beds are hard (truly, no give). The bathroom, like others have mentioned, gets very wet very easily from the shower. My solution was to angle the shower head toward the wall and then take my shower facing out from the shower, instead of toward the back, and that was rather successful. They rooms are very clean - between morning housekeeping and turndown, they leave it spotless for you. It was also very quiet - we never heard our neighbors. It’s a very functional space, but if you’re looking for luxurious, look elsewhere.
THE FOOD: We really enjoyed Eight Rivers (shout out to Romaine, who served us a few times and was amazing) and Verandah – both were amazing and the food that came to you was incredibly fresh. I don’t know that it ever even hit a hot plate. We dined at Bayside once, and while the food was obviously done well, it just wasn’t to our taste. The Grill was our go-to for lunches and late night snacks. It’s a great place to eat if you want hot and fresh. The Patio was a disappointment. It’s buffet style, and sadly the food just never quite hit the mark. It was passable, but that’s about it. Unremarkable in every way. Food wasn’t very hot, wasn’t the right texture due to sitting…the norm for buffet food. The Monday night beach party is the one buffet style night that was actually quite good. Do go to the Manager’s reception beforehand – the apps there are to die for. We did do the private beach dinner, and the food there was very good. I don’t know if it was $270 worth good, but if you really want a romantic night, it’s done quite well. We were pleased with it.
THE BARS: The drinks here are incredibly weak. If you want to actually taste your liquor, ask for double shots. That being said, they do have a large variety of drinks, so I encourage trying a lot of things. If you use the menu at the main bar, don’t necessarily expect to get what you asked for. I used the menu twice and both times got something different from what was described.
THE ACTIVITIES: They have a wide range of activities. In addition to the stuff they mention on the website, they also have different couples games going on at the island and the different pools. They have some sort of art/craft activity each day. They have a lounge where you can dance at night. So if you want to be out and about and trying things, they provide the opportunity. My husband and I are more of the relax during vacation type, so we didn’t try much of this. We did do sailing – shout out to Fabian, who was so much fun – and snorkeling. Don’t expect anything fantastic from snorkeling – it’s mostly some dull colored reef. Didn’t even see many fish. The beach is VERY short – you can walk the length of it and back in about 5min if you’re meandering slowly.
THE EMPLOYEES: Mixed bag depending on what you’re expecting. At minimum, everyone was incredibly – I mean, INCREDIBLY – polite. At best, they would chat and laugh with you. Shout out to Keneel and Ovain at the main bar. Everybody here is very nice, take the time to talk with the employees and they seem to open up to you quite a bit.
THE BAD: There are a couple things that make me only give a 3 star review. The main reason is that the cost simply doesn’t match what you get. We were spending almost $600/night. For that, I could have stayed in the states at a luxury hotel AND had a very nice dinner every night with normal/decent breakfast/lunch (which is what you got at CTI, at best). The pictures they take are incredibly expensive - $50 a photo. I also implore management to stop taking pictures in restaurants. Especially at Eight Rivers. It was so disappointing to be in what was a formal restaurant with a very specific tone, and getting blinded every 20 seconds by the flash going off from the camera and reflecting off all the walls.
One of the things that went horribly wrong for our trip was on our last night, I was walking back to our room alone at 10:30pm, and a male employee insisted on walking me to my room – even after I declined. When we got out of the elevator he took the time to give me a full once over and stare at my legs while making comments about how I looked, then as we walked to my room (which I wouldn’t go in until he left me alone), he in no uncertain terms propositioned me. I declined and he left after asking one more time, but it left me shaking. Management – if you aren’t already talking to your employees about appropriate behavior, it should be addressed. This was inexcusable.
Like I mentioned, a mixed bag. We left feeling like we didn’t get our money’s worth, but I think that could be due partially to the very high rate we had paid (booked late/after hurricane hit the rest of the Caribbean). I would stay here if the rate was something like $300, at most $400, but any higher and I don’t think it’s worth it.
Great value, Food, drinks, and activities
Stayed in the new building very basic accommodations but very clean, after all, we did not come here for the room, it was the balcony overlooking the Caribbean that's what we wanted and that what we had. complete relaxation. The restaurants were all very good. went scuba diving a few times not very exciting dives but the price was right and I knew going in what to expect so I was pleased. Staff was a little shady some shenanigans going on between the bartenders, some staff, and locals. As for the bars, provided premium brands but you must ask for them by name or you receive the well brands.
