Overall, the hotel was great. The service in the buffets was spotty. Some days it was great; other days it was not as good. The entertainment was very enjoyable. We liked having the train service between the two resorts. I was surprised that there was not a swim-up bar at the adults only part of the resort. We did have a couple of issues with the Spanish speaking staff. We were staying in the adults only part of the resort, and the security guard would not let my daughter go in even though she was 18 and had on the proper wrist band. Other than that, we had a nice time.
The hotel and staff were friendly, the food was good. It was tough to communicate, most of the staff didn't speak English. the only negative was the beach, its was dirty, they should have that cleaned up the seaweed everyday but they didn't, so we spent most of our time at the pool.
Food and Service at all or the restaurants was top notch. The only exception was the Hoyo 19 Golf Bar where the food was excellent but the service was terrible. Our water and wine glasses were filled only once, eating utensils were missing and the staff was unfriendly and unavailable.
Barcelo Bavaro Beach is great!
My wife and I stayed at the Barcelo Bavaro Beach for our honeymoon. The place was very nice, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was really good. It was especially nice because the Barcelo Bavaro Beach resort is adults only and not overly crowded, but it comes with access to everything that the Barcelo Bavaro Palace resort has to offer (they are attached to each other and just a short walk or trolley ride from each other). I hope to go back and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice getaway!
Shoddy and Worn Beach Resort
Barcelo Bavero Beach hotel is well past any prime. Rooms are old, bathrooms are a 1050's cast off, and daily room maintenance is undependable and incomplete. Room description was deceptive (ocean front is without any view of ocean).
Did not have correct room ready, put us in another building, away from the group. moved us to a unclean room. One bedframe was broken, never had wash clothes not enough water. No swim up bar in pool, no drink service on the beach.
Staff make all the difference. Adults only means "Quiet only"
Been to Punta Cana many times. This is the only resort where staff did not seem happy and rarely smiled. Despite tipping. No beach service is unacceptable. No beach bar is a major bummer. No swim up bar in adults only area is not acceptable. If I had realized how far the only swim up bar was from the adults only section never would have booked here. Beautiful beach and hotel. There are way better out there. Prefer Iberostar

The only thing I would change is the acoustics in the theater at the Barcelo Palace. The one show was extremely hard to hear or understand.
Musty room..Horrible food.
My first complaint is regarding F9 airlines. Your air prices are out of sight. Charges for 1st bags, carry on bags, soft drinks, gasoline surcharges,....you are gouging your clients. On top of charging all of these charges; the final "blow" was the "gratuity" section on the charge pad! I kept hearing that F9 is the low cost airline. I would advise you to strip that line from your description. I have sold Apple Vacations since their inception (Thompson vacations) what happened to Apple using charter planes? Fuel surcharge? Please...gas is the lowest it has been in years. About the food at this hotel. I have always enjoyed the food at EVERY hotel buffet I have eaten at since your inception. This truly was overdone, dry meat, pale watermelon, hard French toast etc. The Japanese restaurant (at $15 addt'l per person), was our only decent meal during our stay. I will continue to sell Apple land. But, I am afraid I cannot include your air. Southwest is truly the "low-cost airline".
Room and level not what I booked
Enjoyed my stay overall. Alacarte restauarants were better then buffets. Main disappointment was that I booked an ocean front sun deck and was given an ocean view room. Was told at the hotel that the ocean front rooms were for club premium members which is what I booked and paid for. I was given some apple perks as a vip, but only got premium level through Barcelo. The apple rep told me we were club premium. We did not get the perks of a club premium member nor did we get the room we booked and paid for.
Not the Happiest staff.
Check in for the hotel is at 3 pm, so if you arrive before that you will not have a room ready. However, even after our 3 pm check in they only had one of our rooms ready and we didn't get the second room for almost 2 hours. The staff at this hotel aren't the kindest, mainly the guys we had two occasions were two different guys gave us attitude for something that was out of our control. They have a little gift shop in the hotel but you can't pay with cash, they charge it to your room and when you check out you pay for it, or you can go across the hall pay someone else get a receipt and walk back to the gift shop to pick up your items. This was one of the reasons one of the guys gave us attitude, no one explained this to us when we checked in so we were confused. Our balcony door broke the first night we were there. We had someone come up and "fix it" but he said he would come back tomorrow with a set of wheels, so the door could slide easier, that never got fixed. We called again they sent the person to the wrong room, we went downstairs gave them our room number and that didn't help. We left and our door was still not fixed.

Relaxing and Fun!
Very relaxing and the entertainment staff is fun. Food was pretty good and overall everyone was there to please. I liked that we could walk the beach or path to the family resort. They also offer a revolving ride (train) to get there. It comes every 5-10 minutes. We used the small casino and mini golf.
Wonderful place for vacation. We received excellent service! Staff is wonderful. Jesus Peguero is especially helpful and an awesome singer!!! I would highly recommend vacationing at Barcelo Bavaro Beach .
This morning experience with Jesus, Dioniris, & Alexander have been very warm and friendly with assisting us with our dinner reservation and explaining in detail. Also ,there smiles and greetings made me want to book another trip here to stay . I'm going back to the United States and share with all about the great customer experience
Great 1st Trip to Dominican Republic!!!!!
This was my first trip out of the country and I can not say anything negative about this fantastic trip, service and the people at this resort. Upon arrival everyone was very attentive and although the tv had an issue when we first arrived guest services was there right away and handled the issue. We also visited the front desk with many trivial questions and we were not made to feel ...umm dumb I guess but every quest was answered with a smile. Guest Services was the supreme. They assisted with reservations with the restaurants and the internet service. Also, the gave great suggestions on about the food and different locations to shop. The best! I was serviced by Jesus Peguero, Alexander and Dioniris. I canâ€™t recall the ladyâ€™s name that helped us the night before as you can see we visited more than once but they were also kind. I would suggest this resort just on the people and services alone. Thank you for making this a great trip!!!
Superior service and experience
The hotel grounds and rooms are clean; the environment was inviting to explore the myriad amenities. The staff provided exceptional service. The meal options are endless; the buffet areas had many options that provided excellent service. Exceptional service and quality of food with reservations at the various restaurants, provided an intimate experience for both of us. Entertainment involved guest to create a memorable experience. This hotel did not disappoint and exceeding expectations.
