Mediocre Food and Liquor
Nov 27 2017
Food was cool to cold at the buffet. The only hot food you received was when it was served by the chefs at separate carving stations. Liquor at the bar was not any brands I had ever heard of. They used to serve Jack Daniels and Jim Beam but that was nowhere to be found. A lot of construction was going on and I was not told that a snack restaurant had been moved to an upper level location. Another guest told me. The hotel is ok but they need to improve the food and also the liquor selection

Bad experience
Apr 26 2017
Did not get room we requested. Had to wait 2 1/2 hours for room. Room was 1960 style no coffee pot no fridge and they only give you one bottle of water which you have to go refill at the bar. Very noisy and smell of sewer. When it rained which was often you had no cover on your patio. No smoking except designated areas.

Awesome Resort
Feb 25 2017
We loved our ocean view cottage. The food is amazing and the staff are so sweet. This resort is basic but in the right way, it has all of the stuff you need. Great quiet pool and the beach areas were wonderful. We will be returning next year for sure.

3 Star Rating With 5 Star Service
Jan 15 2017
My wife and I loved every aspect of this all inclusive property. The view was 5 star, the service was 5 star and the food and drinks were very good. Maid service was 5 star. This property is beautiful and very well kept. We had a one room suite. It had a separate bedroom which is perfect especially when travelling with kids. This was a very unique experience as 90 percent of the rooms were individual units with air conditioning and many with ocean and garden views. I would highly recommend this property. Again, the rating for this property is 3 star but I would give it 5 star for service.

The staff is the best!

We have never encountered the high quality of staff anywhere else. You feel more like an extended part of their family and not just another guest. Next trip we become official "Jamericans".

RDCC was a wonderful experience. the room was perfect, the service was exceptional, food & entertainment very, very good. RDMB was a very disorganized mess. the staff at check in was completely overwhelmed due to a Jamaican holiday. there were no managers to be found to help rectify the situation. the food & entertainment staff were definitely subpar also. we stayed at this property last year at this time & it has definitely gone downhill.

The hotel was older but very clean. The staff was exceptional! They were friendly, always ready to assist in anything you needed. The food was wonderful and always something new to try every day. Our cottage wasn't ready when we arrived so they offered us a suite with a free safe and if we liked the suite better we could stay there at no extra cost. We did stay in the suite and did not get any extra charge. The entertainment staff were awesome. They didn't just entertain on the stage, but they came out to the guest numerous times during the day and night to ask if we were having a good time etc. A lot of them made sure they hugged you good bye even, We would really recommend this resort to anyone. But don't expect top notch room like the larger resorts but do expect excellent everything else.

Lovely , quaint older property.
Jan 03 2014
Was at this property over 30 years ago with my Mom. Was quiet and quaint. Many improvements since then but still recognizable. Food is good but very bland to cater to all tastes. Landscape lush and well maintained. Had beach front cottage which didn't require ac which was a good thing because it didn't work. Heavy French guest population and catered entertainment to them. Good vacation for the money. You will be harassed by many staff to buy drugs, fetch them a drink from the bar or for tips or money.

Worst time in Jamaica yet
Aug 06 2013
We have been to Jamaica many times,we don't go for a lot of star ratings so we know that it's going to be rundown & older. What we don't expect is not good food at the buffet & the restaurants & there is a wall right behind some of the garden view huts where residents live. Their dogs howl & bark every night around 3 or 4 am. And you hear all the cars on the road. I came home to sleep all night & eat good. People that work there are lovely. But we won't go back there

Booked this hotel because of the cottage style accommodation. Very spacious and clean. Good food, especially for my hubby who is a Coeliac. Not that fussed about the entertainment as it’s not our thing. The beaches were maintained constantly and there are heaps of sun loungers. The staff are all friendly and happy. The rum is free flowing! Free kayaks, snorkelling and paddle boards etc. Loved our stay!

Went with my sister recently, compared to other resorts this one is not as big and grandiose like the others, just like what we wanted! From the beginning till the end of our stay. Staff from all departments are all friendly and kind. The food and drinks was AMAZING can't even wait for the next meal to be serve. Loved our bungalow like our private cottage! Love the sounds of the ocean while sleeping. The beach and the pool have different sides which you can pick where you get more of a privacy or quiet time. The first line staff i can't thank enough for being such a hardworking people. How I wish that they could fund for more equipment for entertainments will be a good upgrade esp. the internet service. Excursions are in decent prices with trustworthy driver. Every resort has their Good and Bad, but why look at the bad if you can just enjoy the GOOD! Relax take it easy you are on vacation!

Nice but not for us personally

This is an honest personal review. Rooms -Consists of individual huts which were very quaint. Always kept clean and tidy by housekeeping. Fridge in room but could maybe be filled with red stripe, ting etc. You have to pay for a safe and internet. Food - Ackee and Codfish was lovely! It was the only food that was hot over the time we were there. Had a burger from the Jasmine bar and felt ill all day. Another person said the same. Drinks are lovely! Staff are fantastic especially at the main bar! Micheal and Kendra stood out! Morris the gardener was always friendly as was Nixon at pool bar. Weather wasn’t very good so we had nothing to do apart from either stay in room, sit at the main bar or in lobby. This is where we miss bigger hotels as more to do. This is just a personal view.

A little piece of paradise

We visited this resort as a last minute getaway before Christmas from Dec. 8th-15th, two brothers with their wives. We arrived on a beautiful sunny day and were immediately put into vacation mode checking in with a nice, cold drink offered upon arrival after the long drive from the airport. We loved the Xmas tree in the lobby and Reggae Xmas music greeting us, along with the friendly, welcoming girls on the front desk. After being shown to our garden view bungalows which were next to one another, and we immediately fell in love with, we quickly unpacked and walked the length of the resort and discovered the jetty bar, which turned out to be a daily visit for us. We loved the relaxed vibe with the guys here and really enjoyed the music and the drinks, especially the hummingbirds! Even though we had 5 days of our vacation being liquid sunshine, at nights sometimes torrential downpours and strong winds, a vacation is what you make of it. We went for relaxation, and relax we did! The super staff at this resort definitely helped with that. We had a great bit of fun with a few of them that deserve a special mention for their friendliness and attentiveness to service. Damian, Gavin, Thelma, Michael, Denardo, Devon, the lifeguards, and of course all of the entertainment staff who went all out to try to keep the party going despite the weather. I wish I had written down all of the names who served us through the week; but we found all the staff especially good. They are very hard workers, working long hours to please guests who can sometimes be unappreciative. We enjoyed Gavin teaching us to play Dominoes with poker cards, us teaching Thelma how to play Skat with poker cards. We really enjoyed the resident band and the dancers who did an awesome job with their performances. We also enjoyed the food and service at all meals, especially the turkey dinner one evening. We loved the two a la carte meals in the upstairs restaurant. Our two servers there did an outstanding job. This was mine and my husband's 13th visit to Jamaica; his brother and his wife's 6th. We've stayed at 5 star, 4 star and 3 star resorts and we have to say this was one of our best vacations yet! We haven't spent so much time outside in the rain in years. I was very happy we took umbrellas with us as we used them just about every evening. I'll never forget dancing in the rain at the jetty bar to Tina Turner. We walked the beach and gardens every day and were always greeted by friendly gardeners and maids and other guests. The gardens here are very pretty and well kept. We loved the poinsettia tree by one of the bungalows over in the area of the quiet pool. We'd never seen one that big! We spoke to the gentleman and his wife who had the bungalow next to the tree and had Xmas lights hanging on their bungalow. They were from Sioux Ste. Marie, Canada, and have been going to this resort for about 16 years. They stay in that same bungalow each year and have family and friends travel there to be with them. That certainly says a lot about this place. We spoke with many people from the U.K. who also were repeat visitors for many years. I do have to mention the cigarette smoke around the bar in the evenings was a bit bothersome to me as I have asthma; but, I also understood the smokers trying to keep out of the rain and there were only certain areas such as the bar that kept them sheltered. So, the four of us being non-smokers stayed clear of the smoke and appreciated the servers keeping our drinks refilled for us. Michael from the bar came to us many times with drinks. He's such a fun guy, always smiling and dancing to the music. I told him he should be up on the stage with the entertainment staff! The only thing missing for us at this resort was a pool table as we love to have a game of pool, and find its a great way to meet and get to know other people. We would love to return here at a time of year when there's more sunshine, lol; but in saying that, the weather didn't stop us from just kicking back and relaxing. This was for us, a little piece of paradise just when we needed it. It may be considered to be a 3 star resort; but we would give it 5 stars! We hope all of the staff at the Royal Decameron had a wonderful Christmas. From Rosalie and Dan, Shirley and Paul, we wish each of you a very healthy, happy and blessed 2018. Until we meet again, "One love, one heart"!

Best FIRST TIME ever!

My sister and I chose the hotel as it is not as big and fancy as the others. We arrived there and people are very well accomodating right away: Took care of our belongings and staff welcomed us with smiles and laughters. We stayed at a bungalow which we loved as it is nice, tidy, well-kept. Great size for 2 people but will definitely fit 2 more. The food was great. They had variety of proteins to choose from, offered salads for vegans and vegetarians and variety of desserts as well. The excursions offered by the hotel are worth it with their price. My sister and I had so much fun with the driver we got and hired him for another 2 excursions we did for thr rest of our week. But I cant emphasize enough how friendly the hotel staffs are! From the animation team to the kitchen, bartenders and even the beach attendants. My sister and I are just 2 quiet people but when some of them see us, they dont hesitate to make a conversation, offer some company to explore Jamaica even more. If you like to just have a little get away from the outside world and not pay for so much, also where you can relax and enjoy Jamaica... Ill recommend this hotel. 👍
