We had issues with other guests with cameras at their patio door and fully able to see in our room. We requested a room change but nothing was available until the next day. We were forced to keep our drapes shut to the beautiful view for two of our five days.

We enjoyed our stay and thought the resort was nice. We paid to upgrade to a larger room for our family of 4, and we did enjoy the additional space. Be warned that you will be given a sales pitch to participate in a breakfast presentation to try and get you to join the Royal Vacation Club, in return for free gifts and a discount on excursions. We did it. The talk was wasted on us (and we resented the time it took) once we learned the cost. But, they did give us the discount on excursions and free beach bags as promised.

Complete trickery. You advertise a royal villa suite and are basically selling just a hotel room. Mediocre food. Pool doesn’t have a shallow area for kids. Not coming back ever!

Was just ok. Least favorite of all hotels we have ever stayed at during our many trips to Cancun over the years. The hotel is nice but did not like that all restaurants have dress codes for males. The buffet requires men to wear shirts with sleeves and all other restaurants require reservations and men wear pants and some require long sleeve shirts. I understand the need to be presentable during dinner but being on a beach vacation it was annoying to be turned away for not having pants! We made a reservation for one night because we were told they had slacks that they would provide but when we arrived for our reserved time were told athat they had lent all slacks out leaving us with having to eat at the buffet which was not that good. We also had to eat out in town twice because the kids did not want to eat the buffet food as there was very limited selection. We also upgraded our room which was not worth the money we paid. The bar service was not good at all. Bar tenders acted like robots had to get there attention to help us instead of them asking us what they could help us with. The worst part was we saw a rat running around in greenery twice! Upon check out no one asked how our experience was. Will never stay there again.

Grand Park Royal Infested with Bed Bugs and Poor Customer Service

I am doing a review on a resort that my family and I stayed at in Cancun and I want to make sure that no one sends their clients there, EVER!!! I did an all girls trip and we stayed at the Grand Park Royal. It was a total of 11 people and we booked 5 rooms with double beds. Arrival Day: We go to check in and discover that they do not have enough rooms to accommodate us so they proceeded to try to put us in these too small, disgusting rooms. 1 king bed and a murphy pull out bed, the furniture in the rooms were filthy and the rooms smelled bad! We refused to go into any of those rooms so the offered us the Presidential suite along with 2 rooms with double beds. The presidential suite had 2 double beds downstairs and 1 king size bed upstairs. so technically the room only held 4 people comfortably but we settled on that and put six people in the room with a roll away. The next thing we explained to them was that we were a group and we would like to stay in the same area of the resort but instead they put one of our parties in a building that was far away from everything and on top of that one of the ladies staying in that room was handicapped and couldn;t walk long distances. We explained this to the staff checking us in and they proceeded to tell us we would have to pay for an upgrade in order to get double beds in the main building. After going back and forth with them about the fact that they were supposed to have these rooms for us because that is what was booked and calling our travel agent who contacted the Apple vacations representative and he came to the desk and spoke to the staff they agreed to move them into the main building at no additional charge. Meanwhile, they had a golf cart but refused to provide a person with a disability a ride to the main building to eat. The next day we go back to the front desk to have them moved into the main building as agreed upon the day before and they again refused to move them into the main building without us paying for an upgrade. The Apple representative was no where to be found even though he was supposed to be at the resort daily from 8am-12pm. We demanded to speak with the general manager and after some back and forth they finally sent the general manager who eventually agreed to move the ladies with no additional charge. The staff at this resort was absolutely rude and unaccommodating, they refused to pull tables together so that we could sit together as a group during a meal and when asked why this couldn't happen we were told " I don't know, we just can't do it" They were obviously prejudice against black people. I went to the counter to exchange some money and was told I had to stand in this long line but when a white person walked up to the desk and asked to do the very same thing they immediately exchanged their money and did not make them wait in the line and when I addressed this issue they played dumb and said it was because of the amount I was trying to exchange which was only $20. In addition to the disgusting rooms and poor customer service, the resort was extremely boring, they did not have many activities going on and it was a complete ghost town by 9pm and there was no food available after 10-10:30pm you had to order room service however you can only order room service 1x per day or it was a $15 charge per person!!!! THE ICING ON THIS NIGHTMARE CAKE IS THAT THIS RESORT IS INFESTED WITH BED BUGS!!! Upon returning home from this nigttmare of a vacation I noticed that my daughter had what appeard to be bites all over her legs. I took her to the doctor who confiremd that they were bed bug bites. Now I have to be concerned with possibly bringing bed bugs home from this disgusting resort.

This hotel is clean and nice, but their management is way too pushy trying to get you to join their member program. They failed to bring us our honeymoon package and when they finally did, the chocolate cake read "happy birthday". The infinity pool and swim up bar were under construction the entire time, as well as other guest rooms so there was loud noise in our room all week. The wait staff and bar staff are excellent. It is the management that needs work. We may return to Cancun but we will never stay at this resort again, and we will be telling our friends and family that as well.

This was our 7th trip to Mexico. We always have fun and are not overly critical. But this was a bad experience. The ac did not keep the rooms cool, there was major construction, ants in the sink, and the food was ok at best. On two separate nights we got rain and the rooms flodded. Not just a puddle, but standing water from the sliding doors all the way to the bathrooms. We also got pulled into a 'short presentation' regarding the hotel's holiday club. We waisted 1/2 day and had to escape an obnoxious sales team. We have been to Mexico several times. May not return after this experience. We are disappointed with the hotel and with Apple. We tried to return home early and got little help from Apple. Our only consolation was two bottles of bad champagne. Please consider another hotel. We will not stay at this one again. We truly feel like we wasted our money and one week of vacation time.

Hotel Concierge was relentless about timeshare and even followed us down the hallway trying to get us to come to a "special breakfast" which we repeatedly declined. As a result we avoided the concierge at all costs. Lounge bar is outdated and bar ceiling leaked during a rain storm. Entertainment at pool was ongoing each and every day, all day and into the evenings making it difficult to relax by the pool. Other than that overall hotel and service was very nice.

Great resort for the value. Food selection is not the best, and kids club and evening entertainment can be better. Otherwise very clean resort, and friendly staff. The ocean room views are amazing, the resort is a mile away from night life and shopping. There are excellent restaurants off the resort in the walking distance if you want fancy dinner.

Good location, the resort was clean & staff friendly! I didn't like that we got charged for a up-grade and some of our friends didn't have to pay for the up-grade! We arrived at the same day & left at the same day!This cost us $250.00 for an ok resort! The food was ok, the Italian was excellent, the orient was not ok, the place was cold & food not tasty. the buffet was ok..

The front desk staff was amazing (except for a manager who kept telling me Hotels.com made a mistake and I CANNOT extend my stay when my guest was arriving to join me). Marciel understood that the inventory with Hotels.com is NOT the same as the inventory at the hotel. Everything worked out great!! Marciel, Rodolpho, Fernanda, Carlos, etc. were ALL so helpful. Even with my international plan, I couldn't get my phone to dial Xelebor Cab company to secure my return ride to the airport, but they dialed for me with no problem. Wonderful service. The supervisors and servers at Cocoy Buffet worked SO SO hard!! They're amazing! The guy at The Grill is so nice. I loved the hamburgers! All around a wonderful food experience at La Conche, El Mirador and Koi. Great music by the pool at night, too.

Fantastic hotel that met all our requirements as 4 adults. The staff in this hotel completely and utterly are what makes the hotel so wonderful, they are so attentive, so polite, couldn’t do more for you if you asked, always offering to get you more drinks and extras such as snacks with the drinks. They all ask you where you come from and want to know about you and seek interested, every time you walk past someone they say hello and are friendly. The Oriental restaurant isn’t worth going to, the food and the service are both so bland and we couldn’t wait to leave. The Italian restaurant the waiter was lovely but the food was only warm and the menu choices wasn’t great but it was ok considering you don’t pay any extra. Facilities in the hotel are great, bars are great, ice cream place is great etc. Would recommend staying in this hotel.

Jesus and Yamily were wonderful in the Oriental Restaurant, both were very friendly and made us feel at home. Eric the floor manager always remembered our name and was very welcoming. The bartenders Nacho and Gregorio were very friendly and talented at the Cassis! The wonderful people that work at this hotel are very friendly and are what make this beautiful Resort even more enjoyable. Joaquine part of the entertainment staff always made a special effort to include us in the resorts activities. GRACIAS!
