Didn't Get the Room We Reserved
We booked a King Deluxe Ocean View Balcony. We got 2 Queen beds instead. The staff explained ..."Oh yeah, when you book with Apple, there are no guaranties."
The hotel is a tired old property. Thankfully they are currently renovating. The renovation will continue through December 2017. The food is ok, but VERY overpriced, twice what we would pay in the USA for comparable quality. Drinks too. The staff was super friendly. The beach is gorgeous! We will go back to the Omni Cancun next time, and we won't book with Apple since rooms are not guaranteed.

The Westin Hotel & Spa was fantastic. The grounds were sparkling clean, the staff all spoke English and seemed to be very happy from the cleaning staff to the restaurant servers. Very friendly always saying hello or good morning. We loved the atmosphere and the beach was absolutely stunning! It was rare that we couldn't find chairs to layout on and while the hotel was fully booked it didn't seem over crowded. The rooms were well appointed and clean and honestly even more than that, the bed and pillows were super comfortable! We definitely recommend this hotel especially if you don't want a party environment. We went during spring break but had no issues whatsoever. There were no roudy guests or issues whatsoever.
Very nice hotel. I felt that the price we paid was commensurate with the hotel we were getting. Overall great value for our dollar. Extremely friendly staff and always remembered your name and where you were visiting from. They made me feel like we were staying in a five-star resort. Hotel itself was obviously older but was obviously being maintained to its maximum. You could tell they were spending money on making the hotel count where it needed it.

Me for our prepaid room, no adequate lighting in the room, few towels, very long walk up ramp to get to front of hotel, no handicap assesibity! Never go back there!
Perfect destination for a quiet, intimate vaction - perfect beach and service!
When goingto theWestin Spa & Resort Cancun, always selectto stay in the Royal Beach Club. You will enjoy a lovely breakfast (included) which had a respectable variety of hot selections, fresh smoothies, and a beach view. Terrific service. Likewise, you'll enjoy a private 3-hour happy hour nightly. Another perk of the Beach Club? Your giant balcony with lounge chairs - and all ocean views. These are not perks that the guests in the main building enjoy. The pools at the beach club and the main hotelwere pristine, modern, and afforded us MORE ocean views. The beacheswere clean, andwe waded out into the ocean on clean sand and in crystal clear water. More like swimming in a pool than in an ocean. This beach is probably among the best in Cancun. Note: Do not cometo this resort if you want an all-inclusive with lots of food choices. Do not come if you wantpre-planned activities, nightly entertainment, and a party atmosphere. This is a quiet, sophisticated resort. Our room had beautiful, modern furnishings and a comfy bed with crisp, white linens and duvets. Our view was fabulous, and the beach-side service was perfect. Westin was a very nice resort but my Apple representative never showed up to explained any services.
The Westin Resort & Spa Cancun
I have attached above the apple rating for the Westin Resort & Spa where we stayed for the 1 night. I have also attached what apple defines as a golden apple. I have stayed at several Cancun properties and just cannot believe that this Westin is considered a 5 golden apple. On Saturday afternoon at 3pm I went down to meet with the apple rep as that was the time slot that was given to me. Prior to that I called the Apple customer service number in America. I explained the situation stating we were very disappointed in this property and wanted to be relocated immediately. She said that the best way to go about moving is to touch base with the local Apple rep. In speaking with the local Apple Rep Gustavo, I again explained our disappoint with this property and told him that in no way was this a 5 golden apple. He told me that he would call me in an hour with hotel options. Well, about an hour and half past and we had no return call. I then called the local customer service number and they connected me to Gustavo. Apparently he had tried to call us but the PHONE in the room did not work………. He then gave me pricing that we would have to pay to be moved to the Riu hotel. We said no problem and that we would like to move first thing in the morning. He said that he would have to confirm with the RIu in the morning and that we should meet him in the lobby at 8am. We were in the Westin lobby at 8am but there was no Gustavo. Again I called the local Apple customer service number and they put me in touch with him. He then told me that all of the Riu hotels in Cancun and Playa del Carmen were sold out….. We booked a standard ocean view room, based on the room description on the apple website it shows that balcony or terrace is included. When we reached our room we had neither, the bellman said that if we wanted a balcony we would have to pay for an upgrade. The information they are listing below is misleading and false. Before we checked out the next morning I made them adjust the up-charge for the balcony room.
Great cozy beds and amazing staff. I had a small accident and asked the concierge if he could get antiseptic so I could clean my injury. I felt like it was asking a lot do I backed out and Went back to the pool. Within 5 minutes there was a staff member at my beck. If you're looking to get away and have the comfort of home on the beach. Without all the hype and price of high end resorts. Choose the Westin. 5*

We loved the close proximity of the ocean to the hotel and we loved the pools on the lagoon side and on the ocean side. The ocean side had a warm bubbly pool with seats all around which is not deep and our little grandchildren loved it. When the sun was obscured by the building we all went over to the lagoon side and stayed outside enjoying the beauty of the fading day in the 3 pools.

Great Hotel, no wait to check in
This Hotel has very helpful staff with wonderful attitudes. From the valet to the check-in and especially the restaurant, they were all quite friendly and attentive. The room was clean and the bed comfy. The pool and beach area were very enjoyable. Checked in around 3 with no wait. A word of warning though, just north of here on the main road the local police are shaking down tourists for bribes, beware!
Itâ€™s the first hotel when you enter the hotel zone so you donâ€™t have to worry about it being crowded. Maybe because of the renovations, it wasnâ€™t a lot of people there so it was very quiet and peaceful. Service was great. Food was great.
I would suggest waiting until renovations are done because I had to wait two hours after I got there for my room to be ready.
Overall, Iâ€™d suggest this hotel and definitely will be staying here when I go back.
My experience at the Westin Cancun Resort & Spa was just so special.
From the moment my wife and I walked in and Fernanda Perez greeted us, to the time we met you, Mauricio the hotel GM, every one of the hotel associates went out of their way to make our 20 anniversary trip as special as they could.
Every single employee walks around with a smile and that makes the guest experience that much nicer.
I must ask you to thank on my behalf the wonderful Bartenders in the Royal Beach Club, they went above and beyond to accommodate every one of my kosher requests to make sure my wife and I were never without a Mojito or Daiquiri in hand!
As well, the associate that cleaned our room, I apologize, I donâ€™t remember her name was as nice as can be, and is truly a towel artist.
A star, a rose, a heart, a teddy bear, a little girl, two swans, an elephant, Every day a different towel creation greeted us in our room.
Yes the Hotel is under construction, but that the Westin Hotel & Royal Beach Resort treat every guest like King & Queen.
Phenomenal place, expect a wait
Review after review warns - your room won't be ready at check-in time. And they're right. But honestly, this place more than takes care of you. Credit for lunch and drinks at their patio restaurant. When it still wasn't ready a couple hours later, we got a complimentary oceanfront dinner and upgraded to a honeymoon suite. Come on! I'm guessing their housekeeping staff is short or something, because this keeps coming up on reviews. But what a resort. And the service is top notch.
The hotel is a little bit older but is still well kept. The staff is very helpful and respectful.The pool isn't very large but it's nice and clean. Access to the beach is ideal with people with children.
