Perfect vacation for families
We all agreed this was the easiest vacation ever! Everything was taken care of and there was zero responsibility. We highly recommend this resort for families with children and preteens.
Iberostar Bavaro suites
Concierge and sales was very pushy. Told him we were not interested in listening to 90 minute sales pitch and he would not take no for an answer. Called our room numerous times and even came to our room. Were promised 100.00 for listening which we did not get and it ended being over 2 hours long. Bag carriers unappreciative Of tip amounts.
Better than remembered
Always loved Iberostar Bavaro but the recent upgrades and remodeling have made this property even more outstanding

This is a large resort which has a lot to offer. We we fortunate to have a suite right on the beach and very close to the pool. Most of the activity in the resort centers around the pool and beach during the day and at the main buildings at night. Food wise... the food is good... there is a huge selection of foods so it's easy to find something to like. We ate in a speciality restaurant 5 of the 7 nights (the other 2 at the buffet) and found the food to be very good. Our favorites were the Japanese and the Italian and the Seafood. The Mexican was our least favorite. The service and the room staff are very attentive. The wait staff and bartenders also very on the ball.
Iberostar Bavaro is GREAT
Iberostar Bavaro is a great hotel that offers beautiful views, great rooms, and full-family entertainment. The all-inclusive aspect is amazing. Although, as my first all-inclusive trip, i was not made aware of the details of how to use it, but quickly learned and thoroughly enjoyed it. Make sure to tip your staff and you will be very very well taken care of. The clean beach, great water, large pools, vast food options an villa like rooms makes this location like a vacation home away from home. If this is your first all-inclusive international destination/trip you will be very satisfied.
Great Vacation Destination Overall
Iberostar Bavaro Suites was a great choice for my husband and I. We had a standard room that was perfect for just us. If traveling with our children I would have wanted a larger room. The hotel was great though there are several things to work on.
The staff is not particularly friendly...some were, only in response, not initiated. We were duped into believing that we had a "personal consierge," only to learn that it was a sales tactic for a time share. The reps are extremely pushy about sales presentations and excursions. That was a first for us. Normally, when we travel, the amenities speak for themselves and excursion information is available upon request. When the new staff arrived, (staff work for 12 consecutive days and nights and then are off for 6 days), they were a lot friendlier; perhaps because they are refreshed. Location is beautiful, food is great and the entertainment was awesome!
unsatisfied very disappointed
got villa looked freshly painted in bedroom but bath needed alot of repair and remodeling... maid fine till end then no service..TV sucked no english had repair and they said ok nothing with that..buffet terrible always the same..got sick on eggs and no variety..told us took away frozen drinks so there was their drinks.we were in Mexico in July and Iberostar had frozen drinks..people said Grand bavaro had frozen one right next store but we couldn't go there..the shows were terrible..staff said trees were down and buildings boarded up because of remodeling why didn't they say hurricane and be truthful we will not recommend this place and forget ranking
Nice seat on Xtra but didn't like the way they left people that were over weight to sit
in the extra pay seats up front like we paid extra they should have to buy an extra seat if they can't fit in the seat....flight home was over a1/2 hr late no one ever told us anything why and when we boarded it was a free-far-all everyone just charged so
being priority passenger meant nothing...people just brought any size bags on which was ridiculous.... so in a nut shell... terrible vacation.... we travel with you at least 3-4 times a year we are seriously going to think twice before booking in 2018 we feel Apple should go to some of these resorts and rate them theirselves don't go by last rating
Good hotel, but dated
Overall the hotel was good, but the rooms were dated and could use ugrading/refreshing.
Not a 5 star resort
I am deeply disappointed by the Iberostar Bavaro. This was our 4th time to Punta Cana and was by far the worst experience. We are a middle class family so we do not stay at the four seasons and we have reasonable expectations. I would give this hotel a 2 star rating. If there was an option to get your money back or go to another resort we would have done that from the very beginning. The rudeness of the employees, watching them bum cigarettes from other hotel guests, the way they treated my fiancee, just everything. The food wasn't even edible. I mean totally horrible. Apple needs to go out to the resort and re-evaluate how many stars this hotel should be rated. To be honest I would have rather gotten back on the airplane and come home then spend the week there, if I would have gotten my money back. Will not go back, will not recommend to anyone, and will 100% not book through apple again as they aren't up to date with the rating of their resorts.

Staff makes the difference!
Travelled alone, arrived and was greeted with a smile and concern that I had an oxygen tank with me. I was escorted to a nice air conditioned room, given option of cool beverage by Denny Contreras from guest services. That office went far beyond helpful. Thank you Denny,Jenifer and Olfa. Because of you, I would come back.!
my wife and 12 members of my family spent 12 days here in December. we paid xtra for elite service and it made things better, but our overall experience was terrible. this was perhaps the worst food we have ever experienced. we felt we were in the school cafeteria every day. at night, even though we had paid xtra for better wine selection, we only received it once. each time they would say that the wine somelier had to bring our wine and he only got to our table in time for the meal twice.
the room was clean but very small and no room to take our clothes from the suitcase.
the rooms and restaurants are spread out over about a 8 block square area so be prepared to walk
they had one hard court tennis court in play but they were building two clay courts
the furniture in the arrival lobby was frayed and looked like it had been there for years
my wife and i vacation in Cancun; Caymans; Cabo; ST. Marten;Aruba and lots of other places in the USA and i must say that this was our worse experience.

This place was incredible. From the transportation from the Airport to the hotel, to the welcoming staff upon arrival, right until we left - was amazing. Comfortable, beautiful, well manicured grounds and beautiful plants, flowers, flamingos!!, fun, relaxing, really felt spoiled and lucky to be there.
There were a few amazing people that need some recognition because they made our family trip unforgettable!
Antony welcomed our family upon arrival and helped our family throughout the week, he was friendly, knowledgeable, funny and sweet. He was really, really great, but we missed him on the way out - hello Anthony is you are reading this!
From the buffet area we had 4 servers who were just sweet, attentive and lovely people, Braulijio, Jose Armando, Akeny and Isidro were lovely to our family and made us feel so welcome. They were super attentive, friendly, and chatted with us when time allowed and they truly spoiled us.I miss chatting with them already. Also Orlando from the kitchen was amazing - one day he came over to where I was about to have some late lunch with my sister at the pool area buffet - I mentioned how I had missed out on the Paella they were making on the beach earlier in the day, he said one moment and came back a few minutes later with this delicious plate of Paella - I was in heaven! I didn't even ask for any, but he brought it over to me anyway! Thank you Orlando! And aside from that, he was very attentive with our family and wanted to make sure we were having a great experience. The team at the buffet were so great that we spent most of our meals together there, simply because they were so lovely! Plus the food was so yummy, there something for everyone (we were travelling with a few vegetarians) and everyone loved the food, it changed nightly and was always fresh and delicious.
Also Morelia ( I hope we got her name right!) who worked in the lobby bar area was such a sweetheart, had a very genuine smile and was singing to the music and dancing while she worked. We went to the lobby bar area specifically because she was there and was so attentive and sweet.
The gym facilities were also incredible, modern and clean. My mom, sister and I took a yoga class one evening from Samantha who held a great class, guided us in both English and Spanish through the poses, and was very attentive and offered some great alternative poses for those that needed it. She was awesome.
Also Kello who does Spin classes was super welcoming to us, my boyfriend and I were doing some Sekhem yoga in the yoga room and he came in and spoke to us about the movements we were doing, and had a great conversation about health and showed him some of the moves we were doing.
Everyone who worked there on the grounds were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable.
I woke up early every morning and went to bed as late as I could just to soak in this amazing space. I would go back in a heartbeat! Highly recommended whether travelling with kids or just yourself. I could go on and on about how much fun I had, truly an amazing experience. Plus that BEACH - wow! Missing that right now with the snow out my window - I want to go back there!!!!

We returned for a week at the Iberostar. The comments I make are supposed to help the tourist as well as the hotel. First, the positive: the room was always well and timely cleaned, and is very comfortable. Except for the facts that they donâ€™t provide a good soft pillow even if you ask and that the AC is quite loud and has very few adjustment. I had read that they had redone the rooms, definitely not this oneâ€¦ The room service (simply for water) is not working well. I had to call 3 times over six hours to get some sparkling waterâ€¦
Now, the food and beverage. The morning crew is not quite awake by 7:00AM. We saw one waiter watching his cellphone by the towel folding station instead of coming to serve coffee. The espresso seems to be a problem. The machine is broken or warming upâ€¦ and when it comes itâ€™s not espresso. Only one day one busboy brought me a real espressoâ€¦ The satellite restaurants really make a big effort to serve decent food. We had good meat at two of them. (Avoid something they call cheesecake at La Coupole) As to the main buffet, some of the food is often cold by the time you get to the table. The food offered is varied and the choices are good.
Two items that should definitely be changed: The ice cream is tasteless and it is hard to recognize the flavor advertised. It is probably a cheap and bad brand. Finally, the jam or marmalade: Normally, youâ€™d expect fruit, sugar and maybe pectin. What they offer is more like water, color and some kind of thickener (like cornstarch). These â€śmarmaladeâ€ť as they generously call them are disgusting.
So, all in all the format is great, the surrounding is beautiful and so is the beach, but sometimes, small savings like those I described are not worse it for the business.
One final note, they enrolled us to assist at the â€śclub membershipâ€ť presentation. That is a 90 minute deal (at a minimum), and just know that if you are not ready to dish out $19K (at a very minimum) do not waste your time.
Wonderful time, beautiful hotel, great staff!
It was difficult to decide which hotel to pick in Punta Cana, but I'm really happy with my choice. We have a wonderful time. The hotel is beautiful, clean, updated. The beach is beautiful. We went in the second week of December, the beach wasn't busy. It was sunny, warm water, no waves. There were some sea weeds, but not too much.
The food was great, our favorite restaurants were the Italian and French.
We talked to some of the staff, they were very helpful and friendly, some names: Fernanda at the reception, Mister Coca Cola at the gym, Danyl at the Italian restaurant, Katty our cleaner, Samuel a Chef at the Japanese restaurant, big THANK YOU to all!
