Check in was addressed as a group. Not one on one.
Room had an odor to it. The furniture in standard rooms smelled like sticky feet. Asked to upgrade to mini suite since that furniture smelled ok, but they wanted $60.00 more a night.

great hotel for budget minded
This is the third time staying at the Riu Naiboa since its remodeling . The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food has been upgraded with a good selection of different dishes. They have added a water park that both adults and children can enjoy. There is a walk to the beach down caribbean street that we enjoyed the beach is beautiful with a beach shack for lunch if you do not want to go back to the hotel . I recommend this hotel for the budget minded.
DO NOT STAY AT A 4 STAR HOTEL IN PUNTA CANA
the Worst all inclusive EVER
I cannot believe how much I hated this hotel! We had to move because I got so violently ill- I would be embarrassed to represent this hotel- the Riu next door was so a great improvement but from this experience it will be a long time before I ever consider using apple vacations again- for $2000 it was a major let down
Great service ! Recommend +++
The price of $3885.00 compared to the rating this time was not worth it. The food was acceptable but nothing changed on a daily basis. You had to wake up before 7:00 am to see the mafia looking guy to make your dinner reservation at the one restaurant. they only accepted about 25 people a night for the 7:00 sitting. I am not eating at 9:00. That was awful. The beach was dirty and horrible. The plane was horrible.
The overall trip and stay was nice. The beds were excessively hard and uncomfortable. We have stayed at other Riu resorts before and found the food selection very limited this trip compared to others. The service was excellent from all of the staff. It just seems like this resort is the economy riu of the Dominican Republic.
Our room was very nice, clean and our maid kept our frig stocked with plenty of water and drinks. The food was mediocre, a lot of the food was the same day after day. The coffee was instant coffee, if you want the better stuff you need to go to the Buda Bar . there you will find cappuccino and espresso. very hard to get dinner reservation at restaurant,, we were told we had to see the manager of the buffet at 6:45 am to book time and then we were not going to be guaranteed a table.
Fine but not great so you get what you pay for
We actually switch hotels to the RIU Macao as the room at Niaboa was really small and we were overlooking the parking lot. Also heavy sewage smell. The Macao was great!
Worst vacation ever
The hotel staff didn't listen we told them everyday that the refrigerator was not stocked they said that happens sometimes and did nothing to fix the problem they also put us over the nightclub that stays open til six am food was awful the only thing nice was the weather was sick for three day's talked to front desk almost everyday about somethings and in one ear and out the other this hotel was by no means a four star would really have to look again before traveling with Apple you should sent someone down there without telling them who you are and see how they treat you....
The staff for the most part was very willing to help us with anything. I found a cockroach in our room the 1st night, but never again. The food was very bland. We were under the impression we could go to any of the pools, restaurants, and bars within Riu and that was not so, we could only those at Naiboa. The excursions were fantastic! Loved Omar from Amstar, he was very helpful. The beach was beautiful! The shops on the way to the beach we ok on prices, but the vendors were very pushy. We called for more soda on Tuesday and were never told that the staff that stocks this was not in and we had nothing to mix the drinks with until Thursday, even tho we called numerous times. The stay was ok only due to we didn't spend much time in our room.

travelled to riu naiboa in april 2018 resort clean room was clean als buffet was good same food every day staff very un ffiendly unless you spoke spanish or french no english so did not like that would not go back to this resort or any riu again
This resort is ugly, dirty and full of rude people. The floor in the lobby is always dirty and the elevator is nasty looking. The room is so small...and the towels look like rugs to use to clean the floor. This resort is very run down!
The beach is like 20 min. away and there are no signs to direct you when walking. The beach is beautiful once you get there.
Ugly resort don't go whatever you do.
A very pleasant Hotel in need of a little TLC (on a very average resort)
The Hotel and staff were fine the food, if a meat eater was very good but for a vegetarian not too much to talk about, however what was on offer was OK. The Hotel is showing signs of age, but is comfortable and clean. We spent most days at the Beach Bar and on the beach, there is very little to do in Punta Cana other than the beach and water games, I personally like to visit other places, we did take a boat trip to Saona which was very pleasant. Past holidays to Mexico and Cuba were very much more enjoyable.
This is the 5th time I have to Riu since 2003. Once to the palace. Once to Maaco. I insusted to my friend we needed to go back to Naiboa as the staff was fabulous and had made our trip before. Huge change. Staff was unfriendly and acted completely indifferent to us and other guests. Some were rude. Its the only reason we were there instead of someplace nicer. Iberstar here we come. No more Riu for me.
while this is the smaller resort it was very nice. staff was always nice and helpful. rooms always clean. when we needed something extra they always supplied it. The staff at Buda bar was awesome. nice experience and was very economical also.
