"Deluxe" room near parking lot?
CAROLE B.

We found the restaurant staff very enjoyable and the breakfasts were quite good. The security staff was very competent and maid service was good. The beach is well maintained and there seemed to be adequate chairs and towels. My major complaint was the location of our room. It bordered the parking lot and the road noise at night provided continuous disruption and the client and staff traffic along the sidewalk near the room during the day resulted in very little privacy. We requested a room change on Sunday when the Apple Rep. was in the lobby and were first told that a different room would be available on Tuesday, but we would have to talk with the manager on Monday morning. The manager informed us that there were no rooms available, thus no change. The manager was quite unsympathetic. If that room is considered "deluxe" the resort needs to reassess this rating and Apple Vacations should insist that Apple clients not get this room. Room 213 is not deluxe.

This was my 2nd trip to CocoLaPalm. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I like this hotel because it's a small, intimate hotel where I feel comfortable and the beach is only a few steps away.

First time to Jamaica and at first I was a little disappointed. But soon realized Cocola Palm was one of the better resorts. Don't be in any hurry to eat anywhere. Service is VERY slow but the people are very friendly everywhere. Use the guards on the beach, they will give you advice as to which vendor selling different things are the best. It is a little annoying get hassled for weed all the time, but you get used to it. Try the fresh steamed Lobster on the beach it is Great and you can get 3 for $24.00.

Fun times at Coco!

2nd time here, the resort is just the right size, our room was perfect for us with a private patio area right outside our room. The food was good, ate breakfast daily at the resort, only complaint is some days it was tough to get a refill on our coffee. The beach area and security is tops! Thanks to Conrad, Gibson and Dean. Enjoyed the Dirty Bananas at happy hour most nights, Vernon did a great job. Will definitely be back!

It again for the eighth time was fantastic!

We had a terrific stay again at COC0. The restaurant food has improved 1000%!! If you have a pet, take a colored photo of them and ask Donavon (he has a wood carving stand right on the resort) to show you what he can make out of wood to an exact replica. He can make it in three days and does it for somewhere between $US100 and $US 120. You will be amazed when you see his work!!

Heading back for our 4th time!

This is our 2nd review for this hotel. We have not had been exposed to un-refurbished rooms we have read about from other guests and we haven't witnessed these rooms from where we have been situated in the resort. Meals are on what we would call average, not great but always more than sufficient. Breakfast is usually our favorite. The rooms we have been exposed to in the 600 block are clean and updated as one might expect in a moderately priced resort. We are smokers and have been given a room with a small patio which is a wonderful bonus for us, though all rooms in that block do not have such patios. If you do smoke you may want to request such a room in advance. Maid service is to be commended. Rooms were cleaned early enough so that when you returned from the beach in the afternoon you weren't waiting for your room to be cleaned. From the front desk to maintenance, porter services and security not a single person dropped the ball. The hotel owners should be proud of their staff. Security at the front of the hotel stops traffic and assists guests across the road, which was super important especially when you are travelling with seniors and children, seniors in our case. Transportation is at a moments request due to the fact they have a small cadre of taxi's available on the property...and reasonably priced I might add. If I have one complaint...and this is one you can easily avoid is the beach bar. I didn't complain or argue with them but a number of occasions when I purchased drinks there the price would change on say a bottle of beer. Another example was I purchased Pina Colada's at the beach bar at one price and the restaurant bar at a lower price, unless of course the beach bar is a vendor of the hotel. Didn't ask, didn't care, we just didn't purchase there after a few days. We will return again to this property in future visits.
