As others have mentioned, this is an upscale very elegant property and thats all it has for it. This summer took a vacation with the family staying at different resorts in the same area and im able to compare their 5* to others. 1.- their entrance is grand. The huge doors and when you walk in, it looks like a castle with high ceilings and beautiful doors.. Service from the door Man and bell boys was great as they greet you and open doors without expecting a tip. 2.-Their front desk: This is where everything falls apart. Arrived at 2pm. I had called from the Hotel next door (competitor) and told them i was arriving around this time and traveling with an infant. We arrived and room was not ready. You know what it happens, after more or less 30minutes a room is given to us. While we waited, we asked for Change but the key was needed and were told to come back later. We walk all the way to where the room was and it was not the room we had reserved. Call the front desk and they say they system is down and we have to wait. In the Mean time 40+ minutes pass and we get the correct room but guess what, they did not have keys to give us and the bell boy had to come and open and close our doors every time we needed to get in or out. By my 4th trip to the front desk i finally got the keys. With keys at hand, we decided to go down and ask for change from US to Mexican Pesos. We were asked for our Passports again, i asked why if they already had our info and to check the records. So we go back up to our room as they said the manager will call us. After our last trip to the front desk now is 7pm, we had just 30 minutes with keys and 0 Mexican pesos. Decided to skip the front desk as by this point its a mute point and went to the concierge desk. Inquired about a place for children to play and they told us it was $25 or $30 for the hour. I was WTF and decided to walk over and ask myself. They told us it was free and if we wanted a Baby sitter it was paid.. By now im all fed up with the crappy service but it was late and the concierge mentioned we will get 15% off if we eat at their steak house (capilla). I said ok since by now we are tired. they give us a tour and we have an infant and we asked if we can have a piece of bread for her while we wait for our food, we were told it was $$$$ and i said for 1 slice of bread? WTF? Another waiter comes and he says its ok for us to take from the food as we are eating and they dont train the front people good enough. He was actually pretty good and honest from what we could tell. Also told us to reach out and write a review from the bad service. 3.- The Hotel: its a huge hotel, lobby is big and connected to their sister hotel. The bar in the Lobby has live music and always running events but for this week in May it was empty. The pools are great, warm water and food is decent. Their service staff if great and very attentive. 4.- The Staff (minus front desk and concierge team) Susanna, Ines kept our room always clean and came back over and over to make sure we had a great experience. Since we had a baby with us, they made towel animals for her. 5.- The Kids Club Staff: they saved the hotel for us. They alone get 5*. Karina J, Claudia H, Judith D bent backwards to make our stay great. We spent a good chunk of time struggling with the front desk and they took it and fixed the problem for us. They even brought up the manager that according to them was not aware of all the issues we encountered. This place might be a 5 start but its a boring and full of not well trained staff. Look around for those that can help.

We enjoyed an amazing stay at Marriott Cancun Resort, formerly Casa Magna. The rooms are comfortable, beds are great, staff was amazing. Amazing views. Beautiful soft sand beach!! One of our highlights was being able to see and hold baby turtles as part of their protect and release turtle program. What an amazing trip!! Thank you!!

Would rate this hotel a 5 star in all areas. Service and staff were excellent. Room was on first floor and excellent , beach was wonderful. Concierge was well staffed and informative on things to do and making arrangements. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay .

Stunning short break

I was visiting Cancun for a short break (3 days) and must say i was very pleased with my holiday. The resort is very well maintained and the staff are very kind and attentive. room- bed was so conformatable, option of pillows provided, rooms are fitted with a very good air con system, i had a ocean view balcony room which was divine. Food- we ate in the brealfast buffet which as a good selection of international food for breakfast. for dinner we tried MIKADO- its a japanesse place so lovely , very interactive exp. Drinks were VERY expensive worked out £8/9 a cocktail ( but what do you expect in a resort like this?) next time if i was staying longer i would buy my own bottle as they were OK. Beach- absolute heaven , lovely sandy beach and beautiful ocean pool- NICE! Very spacious, clean and there is also a huge jaccuzzi. Service- cant complain, it was a lovely experience, they always made sure we were okay and i would defo visit again! location- taxi ride away from the strip nota problem, ppl were also getting the local bus. the only down side is its very quiet in this resort so if ou like hustle and bustle then probs not for you. thanks for a lovely stay Marriott!

We went here for a girls trip and it was AMAZING!! The water is SO BLUE, the room was your typical 2 double 1 bath but what was helpful was the removable shower head to get into those.. "hard to reach" places. Who knew where sand could end up?? But this review is honestly dedicated to PABLO!!! He was awesome, not only did he take care of us (he knows the good drinks, mango mai tai anyone??) but was helpful, funny, and kind! He was very informative of the sea turtles and went above and beyond his duties! Thanks Pablo we will definitely be returning and could not thank him enough for making our trip so special!
