Cannot beat the location. We stayed in Slope Side, so we could literally ski in and ski out. Easy access to village and pretty good restaurants. Some units are better than others. Have stayed in really nice and newly renovated units, but over Spring Break we stayed in a unit that was definitely in need of upgrades. Kind of hit or miss.

Our family of two adults and two children, ages 10 and 12, stayed in #2100 Riverside March 30 - April 5, 2013. My goal was to rent a clean, well-maintained two bedroom/two bathroom condo in the most quiet and convenient Winter Park location possible. This was accomplished. We cannot wait to return, and will not even consider another unit in the Winter Park area besides #2100. We found this unit through VRBO. The owners live in the Boulder, CO area and were great to work with. They use the unit themselves and this shows in the excellent way they keep it maintained. The information they provided to us before check-in was very helpful, including directions to Winter Park from the Denver airport. Because I wanted to know exactly which unit we'd be staying in, I chose not rent through the Lodge (i.e. Intrawest Management). When I had called the Lodge to inquire about renting through them I was not impressed. They told me that they would just assign my family the unit of "whichever owner's turn it was next to have their unit rented," regardless of my location preference. No thanks! I saved about $300.00 by renting #2100 through VRBO and obtained a much higher quality unit than I would have had I rented through the Lodge. #2100 is located on the end of the hallway on the main floor of the building, so we never once had to take the elevator. It is located in an excellent, QUIET place within the building; we never once heard the clomping of other guests' ski boots in the hallways. It is located away from the building's hot tubs (which unfortunately can be a noisy area due to late night use by other guests) and also located on the opposite side of the building as the ski slopes (Snow Cats grooming the slopes at 3:00 a.m. = unwanted noise). This unit has high vaulted ceilings and is in unique location of the Lodge so that there are no other units above the master bedroom and great room. From the balcony, there is a view of the river and Continental Divide. The entire unit was spotlessly clean. The kitchen was well-stocked and the beds very comfortable. High quality linens were provided in both bathrooms. New, high-definition t.v.s are in each bedroom and in the family room. We thought it was well-furnished, including lots of hooks for our ski jackets, helmets, etc. There is not a washer/dryer in this unit, or in any Zephyr Units, but I found it easy enough to use the coin laundry down the hall. Take your own laundry detergent, as the Lodge does not sell any. Zephyr Mountain Lodge is definitely the closest lodging to the Winter Park base and ski lifts. It was a two-minute walk to the lifts, and just a five-minute walk to get our children to the ski school area in Sorensen Park - very easy. The resort provides wagons for hauling kids' gear to the lifts and ski school which was a lifesaver. The ski rental shop was a 30-second walk from the Riverside building. Our two kids' ski rentals were free with our adult paid rental. Also, we rented a car through the resort (Avis) and were able to purchase 3-day adult lift tickets for $99.00 each and our kids' lift tickets were free for the three days. A deal! We enjoyed several of the restaurants in the Village, which were about a one-minute walk from Riverside. Starbucks, Cheeky Monk and Lime were our favorites. However, our best dinner of the trip was at the Tabernash Tavern (about a 10 minute drive away - just past downtown Winter Park and the Safeway grocery store). We also enjoyed a lunch at Fraser Valley Hot Dog (about a five minute drive into downtown Winter Park.) Finally, if you need medical care at Winter Park this is also located within a five-minute walk of the Riverside building at Zephyr. Our 10-year-old son fractured his wrist while snowboarding, and we found the doctors and services at the e.r. (Denver Health East Grand Emergency Center) to be top-notch. We have made many e.r. visits with our "wild child" throughout the country, and were confident in the care he received at this facility. Also, where else can you walk your child to the e.r., and then walk yourself right into a Mexican restaurant (Lime) to have a much-needed margarita? Again, we are were very pleased with #2100 Riverside and cannot wait to return!

Seems we had the same complaints as others (1211 Slopeside) - no late check out on April 4th (a Thursday). Said they had another reservation for our room. I told them that if someone else was going to stay in the room they needed to fix the clogged disgusting sink in the bathroom - clean the carpets (smelled like dirty socks), wash the stained and dust piled curtains and finally, figure out how to control the room temperature. Our room was no less than 85 degrees with the furnace off. The maintenance guy said he would bring us some fans. We slept with the windows open - we were on ground floor. Sure I like the ski in/ski out but what a dump. Internet was a disaster.

Condo is in a good location in the heart of the village. Units could use an update in furnishings and basic kitchen utensils. As a condo they only provide house keeping service once during a 5+ day stay. After the housekeeper came we were missing the sponge we bought to do dishes and a top sheet for the pull out bed. A call to the front desk yielded a new sheet after we confirmed to them that we truly did not have one. The gas fireplace was nice but would not stay on during the last two nights of our stay. It was warm outside so we did not bother to ask for repair. Nice view of the black runs and easy access to Zephyr Express lift. Just beware that it is a trek to ski school for kids with gear in tow. The village provides wagons which are a lifesaver! Heated underground parking for $14 bucks a day is worth it. Hope that both elevators are working. When we checked in they were not. Thankfully we only had to climb 3 flights of stairs and it was fixed the next morning. Overall a good place to stay if you are willing to pay for easy access to the mountain. Be sure to enjoy the hot tubs after a day of skiing.

Its very quiet here. Spring skiing ?? We called the night before our 10 AM check out for a late check out. The answer was a quick NO. Really??? A BIG RUSH FOR THURSDAY CHECK IN?? Will not be back. How much work would it have been to say yes for a noon check out not on a weekend? So disappointed.
