The staff at the hotel were very friendly however the room was very dirty. We had mosquitos, cock roaches, and ants in the room. The sofa had a very foul odor, the appliances were broke and it took 3 days to get a toaster that worked, the shower drain cap was loose and posed a danger of twisting .. More>

We celebrated our honeymoon at The Sands at Grace Bay, chosen by recommendation of a friend. My husband surprised me and splurged for the ocean front deluxe suite, making a phone call before our trip to request the best possible location. Oh, boy, was it a treat! HUGE suite with walk out access to the beach and the pool with a screened in porch. When we arrived we were wishing our friends were here because the patio and living area made you want to host a party. We were in building 3 probably the best spot in the house. The property is impeccably maintained from the landscape to the daily housekeeping service and everyone on property is so friendly and nice. The beach service team was so helpful and accommodating and greeted us by name after day 1. They had bikes, Hobie cat sail boats, kayaks, paddle boards, snorkling gear, anything you can imagine and my husband who is a kid at heart took full advantage! By recommendation of our friend who visits often, we took advantage of the bikes and made the short trip up the road and around the corner to the Gateway Gourmet grocery where we stocked up on wine, beer, rum & mojito ingredients, snacks and breakfast foods for our suite with a full kitchen. We weren't in the mood to go out to dinner one night, just made a pizza and spent a relaxing night on our patio. One morning we walked up the beach to check our Beaches where our friends happen to be staying for their anniversary. While it seems there is a ton to do there as well, the beach is crowded, there were kids everywhere you turned, and lots of solicitors on the beach. Multiple people approached us on our short walk. You simply can't beat The Sands. While there is a ton to do, there were a lot of families with young children visiting and we were told the resort was close to capacity, it never felt crowded. There is a main pool by the restaurant if you like a little more action and there are also little private poolside patios throughout the property on smaller pools connected by a lazy river. We've been so happy with our stay and we are already talking about when we'll make our next visit to Turks & Caicos and The Sands.
