Water in the pool was cold, would be nice if they heat the pool. Food and drinks overpriced. Bars and restaurants almost empty because guests go for drinks or meal somewhere else. Facilities very nice and clean, beautiful beach. Our daughter's inflatable pool toys got stolen .. More>

Within 2 days of the 7 day trip the maid service took a hat from the room. The security officer filled out a form but never got back to me. The security officer also did not seem to care that something had been taken from the room. .. More>

Overall all was fair. I expected allot more but settle with what I got. I was really dissappointed with the paying for parking situation I encountered at this hotel. Although the hotel staff were friendly, they were cold. I felt like I was forcing them to do something they really didn't want to .. More>

Although the hotel staff were friendly, they were cold. I felt like I was forcing them to do something they really didn't want to do even if they were getting paid as employees to do it "Their Jobs". I will most probably never reserve at this hotel again.

This was the first trip to an InterContinental Hotel. Everybody went out of their way to make our trip enjoyable. You must visit the Wine Bar at night, they have a great bartender who can teach you a lot about wines. The Ruth Chris happy hour is also a must.

My husband and I just returned from a five night stay at the Intercontinental Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico. We took my 91 year old mother with us and she had a great time. This is a spotlessly clean, well-maintained older hotel. The staff is well trained and friendly. I have never stayed at a hotel that has treated us better, that is why we return several times each year. The hotel furnishings were recently updated. The hotel location on Carolina Beach is superb. The reservation staff and conceirge are always helpful. From the minute you pull up to the front entrance, you know you are in good hands. The men who meet you at the door and take your bags could not be nicer. We have breakfast at the hotel each morning. Although the breakfast can be pricey, the wait staff is great. Everyone wants to be helpful. The pool area is lovely. The pool staff exudes friendlyness, helpfulness and efficiency. They are fastidious in every way to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Lastly, I wanted to mention the beds--they are so comfortable, and the housekeeping staff does a commendable job.

This was our fourth time staying at the intercontinental and it never gets old. the service is always top notch and the grounds are well kept. There's never any pressure when staying at this hotel, your there too relax and enjoy yourself. There isn't any loud music playing at the pool or activities that you have to join in. Your there to relax, at night in the lobby there's a very cool laid back bar in the lobby where you can sit back relax and enjoy your night. we definitely will return! we do have one issue about the hotel and it's the breakfast buffet, why is it so expensive? $27 a person? that's way too much but thats the only down side to this hotel.

My husband and I recently celebrated our first anniversary at the InterContinental San Juan. He travels globally for work and was just coming off a few weeks on the road, so he wasn't necessarily looking forward to yet another hotel, yet another flight, yet another trip, however he really enjoyed it and experienced some much needed relax and fun time...as did I! We are both pretty snobby when it comes to hotel/accommodations, and we were very satisfied with the entire place. Our room was very clean and spacious. We were given a room in the middle of the hotel facing the ocean on the 16th (top) floor so the view was perfection. The balconies are very small....just enough room to stand, but not comfortably fit a chair or sit. There are other rooms (two story) near the pool with larger lounge spaces/patios but we were very pleased with our room. The hotel staff was absolutely amazing. They wrote us back on Facebook each time we had a question prior to our visit and once we arrived they always went the extra mile to make sure we felt at home. Their customer service was above and beyond. They even sent us a lovely tray of chocolate covered strawberries, a bottle of champagne on ice and a letter wishing us a happy first anniversary. So thoughtful! There's a great cafe on the ocean front. Portions are large and the food is great. So nice to be able to sit by the beach and eat/drink. We won 75.00 at the casino in the hotel, so that was cool! Lol. We didn't have much time to check out the other more high end restaurants in the hotel, but they have a Ruth Chris Steakhouse, a Japanese Steakhouse and an Italian restaurant on the property. Swim up bar in the pool. Fun waterfalls and a bridge in the pool and a great hot tub. The water temp in the pool was perfect. There are tons of fast food places around, a Walgreens, a grocery/market place and some 24 hour bars, but we decided on Mi Casita for local PR flavor and cuisine and found it to be quite nice. It's a 3 min walk from the hotel, next to Baskin Robbins and Subway. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. We also appreciated the private access to the beach. There is always a hotel security staff there who checks for the wristband access. There is a station with towels and a basket filled with suntan lotions, oils and sunscreens for the guests, so no need to purchase any. We rented jet skis for 30 mins which was a blast. And the hotel is a 5 min taxi ride from the airport ($16.00usd) plus tip. Check in time is 4pm, but the front desk staff will hold your luggage so you can enjoy the beach, pool, ping pong tables, and lounge around if you want. Walking around the crescent takes about 30 mins from one side to another. Lovely to do at sunset. We hope to visit again soon. It was truly a perfect way to spend two days. Thank you to the staff for making our anniversary so memorable! Especially the front desk, housekeeping and Facebook social media team! Muah!
