I have written a detailed letter in regards to my stay but the gist of it is that the resort did not come close in comparison to all inclusive resorts that I have stayed at in the past. I have written a detailed letter in regards to my stay but the gist of it is that the resort did not come close in comparison to all inclusive resorts that I have stayed at in the past. On top of that it was also more expensive than the others. Brief list of issues: -first room had mold, leaking ceiling, no iron, no refrigerator -second room deadbolt didn't work, no alarm clock -room refrigerator were not stocked -service was poor at restaurants -took forever to get drinks -beach had brown murky water -not enough beach chairs -adult only pool had kids all over -entertainment was subpar

Overall rating very good. 400-block of rooms (deluxe ocean view} is very good. A problem one afternoon and evening when the music from the Palm Tree pool blasted full force from noon until 1 AM. We loved our week long stay at this all inclusive intimate resort. Believe me, it wasn't love at first sight, but we gave it a chance. It is about 1 1/2 hours away from the airport. But the ride is great (hilly, driving on the left side of the road can really freak out us Americans, narrow roadways, animals on the side of the roads, breathtaking views, etc.) The hotel lobby is open air and we were greeted graciously by the staff with a choice of rum or fruit punch. Our room: I asked for first floor in he 500 building which they accommodated. First impression was not good. The furniture is sparce and a bit worn but the view was incredible. Lots of stairs if you go to an upper floor because the buildings are built on an incline. First floor was very convenient but lots of ants on the patio furniture. There was a bush next to our patio and we saw hummingbirds almost every morning. Getting back to the room, we were considering moving to another resort but realized that we needed to give it a chance. The rooms have white tile floors and everything tracks in from outside so we kicked off our sandals upon entering. We weren't impressed but came to realize that we needed to relax and let the Caribbean attitude wash over us. The sounds of the bugs at night take some getting used to. It was loud and annoying the first two nights but again, we needed to integrate our senses to this tropical paradise. The beach is small but plenty of chairs with umbrellas. We went mid-May so it was off season. We skipped orientation. The resort is a nice size but not mammoth. We enjoyed the buffet (The Palms), and two restaurants, The Bamboo and Le Jardin($25pp extra) but did not like The Plum Tree at all (dirty with empty cups all around the pool deck and lots of fried foods on the menu.) The Bamboo sits right next to the beach with fantastic views. The Palms is an open air dining restaurant with good views and the buffet is full of fresh offerings. We dined at Le Jardin after our on-beach wedding to celebrate. The lamb was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable (thanks to Junior!) Morgan's Pier is another dining option, but the service was extremely slow and our fish appetizers were dry. The entree wasn't up to par either. If you don't go, you're not missing anything. This is the first all inclusive we've been to that I wasn't hungry all the time. I brought so many snacks from Trader Joes with us and we hardly ate them. The staff was incredibly nice and being that it is part of the British West Indies everyone spoke English. It was nice not to have a language barrier. The guests seemed to be very nice and friendly. We made some acquaintances and a set of friends for life! The excursions we did were ok. Definitely sign up for the Soufriere Adventure (cat boat ride, botanical garden our, volcano tour, lunch at hillside restaurant, snorkeling and return boat ride. Lots to do and lots of fun! Skip the trip to Martinique. No breakfast on the boat with a hotel pick up time of 7:30am. The French truly don't like the Americans and that was evident to us at the fruit market. We went snorkeling at a very murky beach (terrible spot) but the sand on that beach was black and that was different. They took us to the customs terminal and collected our passports before we even boarded the boat but no one stamped our passports in Martinique. It was a lot of money and very hot so skip this tour, you're not missing anything except breakfast and padded cushion for your rear end on the top side of the boat. Take a cab to Morgan bay mall, I think it's called bay walk. That was nice and only about 10 minutes away and an opportunity to do some vacation shopping. Oh yes, we got married at the hotel on may 15th and it was wonderful. The wedding planner put everything together wonderfully. We opted for a bamboo hut right on the beach (+950 USD) with sheer fabric draped over it in our choice of colors. Local fresh flowers adorned the front and they provided my bouquet ad his boutinerre(spelling?) splurge for the photography and DVD for it is well worth it. Colorbox did a great job with the photography. On the morning of our first full day at the resort, we got into the Caribbean rhythm. The hotel isn't new but more than sufficient and very clean. The staff is amazing and the people you'll meet (if you make the effort) are great. Bring lots of sunscreen because we saw many many sunburned bodies. Lots of watersports which we enjoyed. Do as much as as little as you like. Relax and kick back!

Stayed at St James for a week in April with my husband and I can honestly say that I could not fault the hotel & staff. Our room was in the most wonderful location overlooking the pool/beach and was cleaned thoroughly every day!! You have the choice of restaurants which catered for all needs and the pier restaurant is just out of this world!! Variety of activities on offer each day or if like me you want the quieter life there is a choice of pools to lounge by.... I do recommend a boat trip to the pitons/volcano This was by far our highlight of the holiday look forward to returning back hopefully very very soon and thank you for making it a memorable wedding anniversary :) :)

My husband and I went here on our honeymoon for 8 days. If I felt that I was the only one who felt that this resort was terrible I probably wouldn't be posting this. Every person that I spoke to while we were there complained about how awful the service was. For example, Saturday Morning when I went to make a coffee in our suite, we noticed that the cream was bad. So we called down to the lobby to ask for new cream. We did not get it until Monday night. Also, they say that you can break your money into change at the front desk, incorrect. Every single time I tried, they told me all they had was EC. Even when we went to settle our bill when we left, they paid me our change in EC after I asked her not to. She didn't even make an attempt to try to find american money in the entire lobby! There were two waitstaff that was friendly to us the entire time. The waitstaff at the palms was awful. One morning we completely finished our breakfast before we flagged someone down for coffee. At another restaurant on the other side of the resort, the staff were arguing in front of everyone and one of them quit. If you showed up a little late for lunch a the palms, the staff gives you an attitude. The food in the restaurants that you have to make a reservation at is portion controlled. They did absolutely nothing to make it feel like our honeymoon. When I asked about it they told me my room was nice enough. Which was true to an extent but it was a room I had asked and paid for. Our shower did not work in the room, and they did nothing to try and fix it. It took about 20 minutes to heat up when you actually found the heat spot on the lever that spun around like a fan. The best thing about the trip was the excursions not done through the resort. The food was okay for all inclusive. You eat outside most of the time where birds have nests right above you. It's kind of on the dirty side. As for all of the fried food, they need to offer more vegetables and salads. They had no coconut rum, and they continuously ran out of the island beer, piton. The entertainment was awful! Out of 8 days, one night was great! They played no music during the day except when they did pool aerobics. The next time I go to Saint Lucia, it will not be at this resort. It will be at Sandals. I heard from everyone at the airport who stayed at a Sandals location that they absolutely loved it. This was the worst experience at a resort. We didn't let it ruin our honeymoon, but it could have been so much better! It is a good thing we have great senses of humor, and that we chose to go on excursions because that is what saved our honeymoon.

I stayed here for five days in March while attending a friend's wedding. The prices were high but not out of the average. This was my first trip outside of the US and Canada (Ironically most of the people I met while there were Canadians, with the exception of a few Americans and a few English). The weather was beautiful and the scenery was great. I enjoyed the beach which was kept clean and was never crowded. All of the staff were extremely nice and helpful, going so far as to assist a friend with a sun-burn issue she had and then inquiring about it before we left. The food was on par (from what I have heard) with other all-inclusives and the facilities were very clean and well kept. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone.

We've just returned from 10 days at St James Club to celebrate our honeymoon. Having married in January, we delayed our honeymoon, so have been eargerly awaiting this for several months. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with a smile (and a fruit or Rum punch!!). Check-in is easy, the keys and room cards are waiting for you and after completing a small form, you are ready to whisked off to your room (by golf cart!). We stayed in room 449, which was some way from the pools and beach, but it didn't matter too much to us. The room had views of the gardens and the sea, which was nice. The pool area is nice, clean and sun beds are plentiful. The beach, although small is nice, again sun beds are plentiful and swaying palms provide much needed shade (if that's what you want!) Like other reviews, the sea is not typically Caribbean, it's murky, but don't let this put you off as a short 5-10 min drive away by Taxi or Bus and you are in Rodney Bay, which is very typically Caribbean and gives you crystal clear water (well worth a visit). The watersports on the resort are all included, which is great. We learned how to sail a Hobbie Cat, used the paddle boats and kayaks. They also provide water skiing lessons and the Banana boat makes a daily appearance!! The resort has 4 restaurants, Palms (Buffet), Bambou, Morgan Pier and Le Jardin (Le Jardin has an additional supplement of $25 pp), but we got one visit complementary because it was our honeymoon. The food in all the restaurants is great and plentiful. If we had to pick a favourite, we'd say we preferred Bambou, but really there is nothing to choose between them. We found the staff across the resort to be very helpful and friendly and always smiling. Worth a mention, if you are planning a day trip, we used COSOL Tours (Find them on Facebook or google), this is very worth while and worth every penny of the $65 pp charge, by far the cheapest tour on the island and they have excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. You get to visit all the major attractions (Banana Plantation, Marigot Bay, Pitons, Sugar Hut beach, snorkelling, plus unlimted bar and food is provided) Overall, we had a truly amazing time at St James Club and St Lucia really is paradise. We would happily recommend this hotel and would return tomorrow!!
