The Vacation Everyone Needs
Mar 07 2018
I thought the Grand Oasis was perfect for what I was looking for. The resort itself is huge, so there are plenty of options and a variety as well. If you want to party it up there is a pool with lots of young people right near a tiered deck with lots of music. However there are several other pools with lots of open seating that are very peaceful (you'd never even know a party was going on not too far away). The resort is pretty easy to navigate and just nice to walk around. The beach is beautiful as opposed to other Mexican beaches that you may not actually be able to sit on, just be careful swimming the riptide can be pretty extreme. There are lots of options for food, the quality is what you would expect for a resort cooking in mass quantities-- I actually really like the tacos at the pool probably the most, but there are also several restaurants with views of the ocean. The burlesque style show is quite entertaining. Overall the staff is extremely friendly and fun. I went on this vacation alone for a few days rest from dental school and was able to meet tons of people, as everyone was very friendly. The only suggestion I think I would make for this resort is having some kind of posted list of daily activities. There are things going on such as volleyball or morning yoga, but they could easily be missed if you didn't happen to be walking by or actively seeking it out. I would recommend and would also return! Very happy with my experience.

Never recommend this place.

We booked 3 rooms all with double beds. When we arrived, we had 3 rooms with king size beds. This was ok for 2 of the couples. The 3rd room were newlyweds and their friend. The hotel stated they never guarantee double beds and neither could Apple. Eventually they put a cot in the room. No one card that the 3 people were sleeping in the same bed. Everyone, include hotel and Apple employees referred us to someone else. The said see the concierge on the 5th floor in our building, which no one was there. The food was mediocre at best. We were given a welcome sheet that stated they left a free bottle of wine. One room received it, the other 2 did not. Again, no response from anyone. I ordered a birthday cake, it never arrived. All the employees act like they are taking notes and going to rectify the situation and you never see them again. We have been to Cancun many times. This vacation, by far, was the worst experience we have ever incurred. I would never take children to this hotel as we saw 2 fists fights while we were there. One with a man literally bleeding everywhere. The medics showed up to help. The other was a young woman being punched in the face. Really, I am almost ashamed to stay I stayed at Oasis Cancun. I am going to call Apple in the next few days to see if I can get any refund on the room itself. I will probably again be referred to a nonexistent employee. THINK TWICE before going here.

This is a review on my trip to Cancun Mexico from February 10th to 17th 2018. I stayed at The Pyramid at Grand Oasis, which I book Via Apply Vacation. First I will say my booking with Apply Vacation was perfect from beginning to end, 10 out of 10. I stayed at the Pyramid at Grand Oasis Cancun, to start the Web site is confusion at its best. Is the resort ďThe Pyramid at Grand Oasis or just Grand Oasis Cancun. For me, you need to make it better understood just which resort Iím booking. On arrival I was greeted and pointed to the check in office for GRAND PLUS, and met by Maro Delgado and the check In was pain less and easy. But I had to go back to office for WIFI information and then had to wait 24hrs to use it. Also no Robe & Slippers in room got them two days later. Both come with Grand Plus. I could go on and on about the little things good and bad, but to keep this short. Iíve stayed here back in 2016 for 7 days and at the time it had a 5 star rating. I am going to give them a 4 this time. ďIíVE ALWAYS BEEN A FIRM BELIEVER THAT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FORĒ I think I got what I paid for (good price). Reason for my lower rating: Door handle came off door over an hour to get it fixed. (see picture) Air Condition not working well, didnít get cold enough (Glad it wasnít really Hot) ??? TOWELS STUFF IN COLD AIR RETURN????? (didnít take pictures) Patio door does not lock (safety concerns) Lights in Bathroom is not bright enough (new LED bulls Ė must be trying to save electricity) Water on the floor in the hallway, they put towels down. My guest slipped on the wet floor (she is ok, see picture) Over all of the restaurants were clean and very nice, but the food was just so so. In conclusion I would not recommend The Pyramid at Grand Oasis / Grand Oasis which ever they want to call them self a 5 STAR RESORT but a 4 STAR. Iíll give them a half star because of the outstanding staff, they are 5 star on their own.

Good but not great
Feb 13 2018
We had a great vacation, but it could have been better if they had accommodations for disabled persons. My sister had a stroke, she can walk but there were stairs every where and no railings for her to hold onto. To stay at this hotel, you need to be able to walk. Each day we walked about 10k to 15k steps just in the resort. Even to get to our room we had to walk up steps to get to the elevator, definitely not ADA friendly. We loved Cancun and will return but need to stay at a different hotel so that I am not working so hard to get my sister to and from the room. The activities were fun. They had exercise on the beach with stretching in the early mornings. I loved the dancing and the staff was very nice.

I've been to several all inclusive hotels in Mexico and this was by far the worst one i've been to. We forgot a real gold chain in our hotel room and the staff said there was nothing there when they went and looked. We know for a fact it was left there and have never before been to a place that is dishonest especially about something like that and the amount it was worth. Not only that, but this hotel has the lowest quality of food probably offered in Mexico. The 'hamburgers' were a light tan color and mostly every restaurants food did not sit well. lastly, every time i have been to a resort the employees are amazing. The people, besides a select few, did not care about you or even had a smile on their face. The best part of the whole place was the beach, clearest beach i've been to in Mexico.

The room size was great. Came in to a stocked mini fridge, champagne , & dessert. When it got rainy the windows shook and the wind made them knock. Super annoying, especially while trying to sleep. The staff was friendly and helpful. Having the beach right outside the hotel was lovely as well.

Not an All Inclusive Vacation
Feb 01 2018
I have stayed at all inclusive resorts through apple vacations and have never been disappointed like I was on this trip. The package we paid for online didnt get us access to all of the restaurants, we had to pay an extra $100 when we got there. Room service wasn't included and there were no servers at the beach or the pool like at other resorts we stayed at. The maidstaff came to clean our room and didnt remake our beds. the just folded down the top sheet., the bed skirts were thrown on the floor and my earrings went missing. Overall, I was just so disappointed. I had so much fun on my past trips, I definitely didnt expect to encounter this experience.

I had been to Grand Oasis before and had better experience. But this time staff was rude, maids did not come every day, there were long lines for restaurants, breakfast and lunch staff was always extremely rude, and we had 3 teenage daughters in one room and had asked for two bed and only got one. They were rude and refused to exchange rooms. Hotel not very clean. Hallways noisy at night. Things were banging on roof in wind. Room keys would continuously quit working. Pool tables in sports bar were like playing pool in wet sand. For what we paid, I wish we would have gone elsewhere.

BOOK WITH CAUTION, especially during the busier seasons! We booked 2 rooms six months before our vacation. Upon check-in, we were told that there were no available rooms; even though we booked VIP Plus rooms. They sent us to their sister property, the Grand Oasis Palm. During the day the journey between the two hotels took approximately 45 mins. The first half of our trip was spent in reception waiting to speak to a new staff member that never showed up. Finding a manager to speak to was next to impossible. Our first room wreaked of cigarettes, and it was not the setup we were guaranteed. We were promised double beds and an ocean view; we received neither. After 3.5 days of arguing with over 10 different staff members. We were finally able to get moved to the correct property with the rooms we paid for. The Grand Oasis made it seem like they were doing us a favor by giving us the rooms we had paid for. The front-end staff were not transparent and way less than friendly. Without paying for the upgraded black bracelets expect to spend more time waiting in line for drinks then at the pool or beach. The buffets were mediocre at best. The a la carte restaurants were good but required the costly bracelets. They overbooked by several dozen rooms (approx. 70) and took zero responsibility. When applicable, they will just blame the booking agency. Both properties were pretty, but our experience with their customer service ruined the stay for us. We were told there would be an investigation regarding our reservation. Several emails later from us and, no response from the Grand Oasis. There are plenty of other beautiful properties where you will not experience such TERRIBLE customer service!

To put this frankly, this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The main entrance is quite impressive but everything else is a disaster, i don't even have words to describe how bad this holiday was and the lack of customer service we received. There was only one person working at the check in desk, the party of two infront took an hour to check in. we asked the man behind the check out desk doing nothing for any help and he just pointed back to the check in desk, it took another hour and half for our party of 6 to be checked in. Then to find the room, there are barely any signs for hotel rooms, our room number was 45** and unknown to us the floor of your room is represented by the second digit, many other people trying to find their rooms. why would this not be said at check in? A safe in the room is $7 a night and $150 charge if you loose the key Room was robbed of $3500 within one hour of being in the hotel, hotel did nothing but accuse us of hiding it and proceeded to start going through our suitcases to "try and find it" Fridge in room didn't work Door opened without a key when shaken hard which hotel did nothing about. Don't even get me started on the food which was dreadful and we were lied to about all inclusive as we only had access to about 3 restaurants with the rest reserved for black wristband holders, lack of music around the pool, terrible service in which staff asked for tips for even serving a drink otherwise you'd be left waiting for ages. Impossible to get hold of a bottle of water other than the 2 a day we got in left by cleaning staff, in the room we booked for 3... which only had 2 double beds in. I didnt plan on coming on holiday to share a bed with my mate. Even for a early 20's group of guys coming to spring break the hotel conditions were terrible. would never recommend to my worst enemy!

It was a complete disaster as a springbreak, service was the worst! Staff does not know whate they are doing.

As I got in, my reservation (which I had on paper) they said it was moved to another hotel, something that happened to other 300 guests because of overbooking. Apparently it happens every year. Trying to fix that problem, everyone was very rude and it was impossible to locate the manager every single time. The service is terrible, bartenders will only take care of your if you tip, and if you dont they will look at you pretty bad. They only put music at the beach club, not even in the pool. I also sick because of the gasoline that they serve as alcohol/food.

I have no words to describe how gross this hotel is. Even as a drunk college student on spring break, it was unbearable. Service is awful. Food is completely inedible. Employees are corrupt and respond only to bribery. Elevators are sketchy- my friends got stuck in one for 30 minutes. Most importantly: THE RESORT RE-USES THE PLASTIC CUPS. They rinse discarded cups in a giant vat of barely-soapy water, and stack them to dry and re-use. Personally I didn't have a problem with stealing or theft, but so many of my friends reported missing money, phones, wallets, and passports. There is a safe but you have to pay an additional charge for the lock; anyone under the age of 25 has to pay a "spring breakers insurance fee"; I was told on the last day that each roomkey I didn't return would be a charge of $7- this hotel looks for reasons to charge you left and right. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS, YOU DESERVE BETTER.

The hotel is huge and pretty on the outside, but everything about it was awful. To start off it was supposed to be all inclusive and it wasn't at all! They lied to us and they only allowed us to go to three restaurants which were ALL AWFUL. The buffet if you didn't go within the first half hour there was no food left. They barely refilled the trays. There was only scraps and it wasn't even good food. The Italian place took forever to get in, the food was god awful , and they gave me my food cold! A few of my friends also tried ordering room service one day and they didn't answer for 2 hours. When they finally answered all you could order was burger and fries. Then after the first day the food got me so sick I needed medical attention. Me and my entire friend group were throwing up for the entire trip. Plus many other people in the hotel were getting very sick when we were there. It wasn't normal. The staff wasn't very good either. I called to get a safe in our room and it took them over three hours to deliver it. Then they told us they didn't have anymore locks for our safe, how do you not have enough locks for all your safes?! On top of that when I got really sick the hotel told me they were going to deliver me medication and they NEVER did. I called several times and they just transferred me to another number that never picked up. The showers in our room didn't work either. It would just drip freezing cold water and I told several people who worked at the hotel and they never fixed it. When they cleaned our rooms they gave us only two towels for a 4 person room and never restocked our toilet paper. It was ridiculous. Overall, it was the worst trip I ever went on and I would never go here again. Go somewhere else!!!!
